Bio of jacopo Francesco riccati. jacopo riccati. Click hereto go to Home Page for Difference Equations at URI.
http://hypatia.math.uri.edu/~kulenm/diffeqaturi/chad442/project.htm
THE RICCATI DIFFERENCE EQUATION The Riccati difference equation is of the form n where the parameters a, b, c, d and the initial condition x are real numbers. In order to avoid unwanted cases, we must assume that both d and ad-bc do not equal zero. The forbidden set F of the Riccati difference equation is the set of initial conditions which the denominator c+dx n will become zero for some non negative value of n. Assume that the previous conditions hold and that the Riccati difference equation does possess a periodic solution of prime period two. When b+c is equal to zero, we observe the every solution of the Riccati difference equation with x not equal to b/c is periodic of period 2. In addition to the previous conditions, we will assume that b+c does not zero. The change of variable for n non negative transforms the Riccati difference equation into the difference equation (which we shall refer to as Equation (1)) n The nonzero real number is known as the Riccati number. We can observe that when Equation(1) has the two equilibrium points and We see that w R and w When Equation(1) has exactly one equilibrium point When Equation(1) has no equilibrium points.

Il decennio economico : 1891-1900 I provvedimenti
di Rudinì
Al principio del 1890 le condizioni delle finanze era ancora critica:
  • lo squilibrio fra le entrate e le spese effettive accennava a diminuire ma restava pur tuttavia notevole: nell'esercizio 1889-1890, compresi l'onere delle pensioni e delle costruzioni ferroviarie, che erano fuori bilancio, il disavanzo effettivo era stato di 223 milioni (nell'esercizio 1888-89 era stato addirittura di 488 milioni!);
    non era possibile fare ricorso a nuove imposte o aumentare quelli esistenti a causa di una forte depressione economica che attraversava tutto il regno.
  • legge n.498 del 20 luglio 1891: modifica dell'ordinamento del gioco del lotto; legge n.682 del 14 luglio 1891: aumento della tassa di fabbricazione delle polveri piriche e degli altri prodotti esplodenti;

    The Development of Analysis on the Continent
    From `A Short Account of the History of Mathematics' (4th edition, 1908) by W. W. Rouse Ball. L'Hospital Varignon De Montmort Nicole ... Fagnano Leaving for a moment the English mathematicians of the first half of the eighteenth century we come next to a number of continental writers who barely escape mediocrity, and to whom it will be necessary to devote but few words. Their writings mark the steps by which analytical geometry and the differential and integral calculus were perfected and made familiar to mathematicians. Nearly all of them were pupils of one or other of the two elder Bernoullis, and they were so nearly contemporaries that it is difficult to arrange them chronologically. The most eminent of them are Cramer de Gua De Montmort Fagnano l'Hospital Nicole Parent Riccati Saurin , and Varignon
    L'Hospital
    , born in Paris in 1661, and died there on Feb. 2, 1704, was among the earliest pupils of John Bernoulli, who, in 1691, spent some months at l'Hospital's house in Paris for the purpose of teaching him the new calculus. It seems strange, but it is substantially true, that a knowledge of the infinitesimal calculus and the power of using it was then confined to Newton, Leibnitz, and the two elder Bernoullis - and it will be noticed that they were the only mathematicians who solved the more difficult problems then proposed as challenges. There was at that time no text-book on the subject, and the credit of putting together the first treatise which explained the principles and use of the method is due to l'Hospital; it was published in 1696 under the title

    Progress in Systems and Control Theory, Series, Vol. 25 ISBN 3-7643-6060-7
    Systems, networks and control theory circumscribe a vast and varied field of science, within which one may find theoretical work of a mathematical nature involving a broad spectrum of techniques. These techniques are linear algebra, function theory, ordinary and partial differential equations, functional analysis, differential geometry, algebraic geometry, stochastic analysis, and combinatorics. Apart from these particular tools, the heart of the field is still formed by the concepts of feedback, stability, optimal control, and recursive filtering. This book contains a collection of essays written by top experts in the field, presented at the Mathematical Theory of Networks and Systems Symposium (MTNS-98), held in Padova, Italy, on July 6-10, 1998. The goal of the Symposium, which this book proposes to align to, was to reflect new research directions and connections in coding and computer vision.
    Still there are articles of which orientation and approach are within the scope of classical mathematics.
