Top pay 'nitpickers' panned Allied chief accused of forgetting shareholders as he defends executive rewards Julia Finch Wednesday February 5, 2003 The Guardian The chairman of drinks group Allied Domecq yesterday dismissed shareholders' concerns about increasing levels of executive pay as "unbelievable nit-picking". Mr Bowman was awarded his bonus based partly on an earnings per share target and partly on "key management objectives" which Allied Domecq does not disclose to its shareholders. At the time the payments became public, when Allied published its annual report and accounts, the group said Mr Bowman had earned the bonus not because of any outstanding achievement but because he had avoided making any mistakes. Mr Bowman has also been awarded a large share option incentive, which subject to performance criteria will entitle him to purchase a substantial tranche of shares for 0.1p each in two years' time. The Allied board also has two-year service contracts, which contravene good corporate governance guidelines. The government last week announced a three month consultation into what measures could be taken to halt so-called "rewards for failure".

Stephanie Strohl presented a report on the very successful service brokering program contracted by the Division for three months, involving 20 families on the Waiting List. The Region Family Councils collected 630 signatures for the IDEA petition, and Western Region collected the most signatures and will receive the $100 reward from the Arc. Millard County collected the most signatures by one council (181) and Western Region will award them with half of the $100 reward! The State Family Council will prepare a draft for the Human Rights Plan for self-directed supports The Council has applied for a grant from the Governor’s Council to help fund future mini grants, build Local Councils and provide four traveling parent-to-parent conferences around the State
