I hope to expand this page as time goes on (and as I take the opportunity to refresh my memory - some of these films I've not seen in years ...). I've rated each of the films with one to four crosses: I can be a bit eccentric in my tastes at times, so forgive me. The format is as follows:

"Terror stalks its turreted battlements...And horror crawls the catacombs beneath!"
An eighteenth century knight, (Greene), avenges the deaths of two of his friends killed at the whim of a sadistic Viennese Count, (McNally), during a hunt. The knight breaks into the Count's castle and discovers a series of labyrinths and torture chambers. Infiltrating the Count's court. the knight falls in love with the Count's unhappy wife, (Corday), but they are thrown into the dungeons when his identity is discovered. A doctor, (Karloff), administers a special leaf to the lovers that makes them appear dead. They are almost buried alive when their plot to escape is discovered.
A gothic, but unfortunately slow moving remake of

([from the 1950's British television nostalgia Maigret page
Maigret was first introduced to BBC TV as a part of their Sunday-Night Theatre presentations with ' Maigret and the Lost Life ' (6/12/59), written by Giles Cooper from a 1954 novel by Georges Simenon and produced/directed by Campbell Logan. Basil Sydney played Commissioner Maigret in the 75-minute production, supported by Henry Oscar, Patrick Troughton, Mary Merrall, and Andre Van Gyseghem.
The actual series began in October 1960, the first of what would eventually become four series totalling 51 episodes of 45/55 mins. The BBC had acquired the rights, with Simenon's blessing, against worldwide competition, making it their most ambitious series production to that date. The casting of Rupert Davies as Maigret greatly pleased Simenon at the time; supporting players included Ewen Solon (as his assistant Lucas) and Helen Shingler (as Madame Maigret).).

The Dominators
The Mind Robber
  • written by Peter Ling and Derrick Sherwin directed by David Mahoney music not credited broadcast from September 14 through October 12, 1968 Review: In one of the best high-concept Doctor Who stories of the 60s, and one of the strangest in the entire history of the series, the Doctor is faced with an emergency that forces him to yank the TARDIS out of the dimension of reality. The TARDIS arrives in a seemingly empty space outside of time, but the Doctor, Jamie and Zoe are not alone - someone wants them there and intends to force them to stay if necessary. The empty space is filled by the fiction that comes from human imagination - and the very tired human abductee, whose mind is being constantly tapped to keep the Land of Fiction alive, nominates the Doctor as his replacement for a job that can never be vacated. One often-overlooked scene in part four redresses, at least in a token manner, the accusation of sexism frequently leveled at Doctor Who. It's rather amusing when Zoe beats up a comic strip villain from her own time. And speaking of villains, "The Master" listed in the credits is not the same character later immortalized by Roger Delgado.
