NEW: Spring-Summer Courses 2003 The Department of Religious Studies is a small, friendly and innovative department affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and Science and Queen's Theological College. Our award-winning faculty lead Canadian research in fields that range across the globe from Biblical Studies to Buddhism, and investigate the intersection of religion and culture in such areas as violence, democracy, literature, ecology and gender. The department is equally committed to excellence in teaching. We offer a major, medial and minor concentration to a small but dedicated number of students who are passionate about understanding the impact of powerful religious forces on culture and identity. We also take pride in our wide range of highly popular electives that draw on strengths that students develop in other disciplines. Our current course offering can be found here . The department also contributes faculty and resources to the Queen's program in Jewish Studies Our twelve-month MA program in religion and modernity is unique in Canada. This highly selective program admits a small number of graduates each year and offers an exclusive focus on religion and modernity. Through the resources of the School of Graduate Studies we are able to offer attractive financial aid packages to highly qualified students.
