This new site has been created as a result of the ongoing controversy, The British Aikido Boards total failiure to deal with matters pertaining to this subject, It was felt that a site giving the visitor an opportunity to a more in depth review of how the "Governing Body" actually governs Aikido, how it deals with legitimate complaints from its members.how it favours some and discriminates against others, for example see the non "controversy" letters from Mrs Timms, untitled and unsigned. If you are a member of the BAB I suggest you think carefully before making a complaint.

    Aikido Diary
elcome. The purpose of this World Wide Web page is to document ways aikido has made a difference in the lives of those who practice this wonderful art. Aikido Diary aims to give people all over the world an opportunity to share their stories about aikido as a tool for personal growth and protection.
Aikido and Loving Protection
Very few of the aikidoists I know have ever been attacked. Some have managed to pre-empt an impending assault by following the principles of aikido: non-violent resolution of conflict, blending, claiming you space, stating your case and taking the initiative. In the rare instances where aikidoists have had no choice but to defend themselves against physical assault, the techniques invariably kept them safe and did the job. And their assailants were not seriously injured. I've trained with police officers, sheriff's deputies, Highway Patrol officers and prison guards who are paid for a living to intervene when things get violent. They have no shortage of stories to tell about how a sankyo or shiho-nage got them out of a jam. For me, that's all the validation I need.
On the road to self-perfection through co-creative action
Aikido is about commitment to the path of self-perfection. It is not a path that is traveled alone. Although no one can get inside our skin, our mind, our feelings, aikido is a mirror of the innermost recesses of our being reflected through co-creative action with others. Many aikido practitioners can attest to a variety of ways the quality of their life has been improved, from being more energetic and productive in their daily lives to overcoming co-dependent or self-destructive behavior, through training. These stories, too, will be part of the entries in Aikido Diary.

http://www.seidokan.org/
The objectives of Seidokan Aikido are to study the philosophy and the arts of Aikido and further develop them to best suit the modern way of life. Seidokan Aikido is the study of Aikido as a whole. Old traditions are analyzed and only the good traditions are kept and further developed so that they can be useful in our daily lives. Seidokan Aikido emphasizes the attitude of training. The students and the instructors grow together at Seidokan Aikido dojos. The students learn the fundamentals from the instructors and the instructors gain deeper understanding of Aikido while sharing their knowledge with the students. Through earnest, realistic and sincere training, the students of Seidokan Aikido will learn the true meaning of Aikido. The motto for Seidokan is " earnest, sincere, and realistic ." This is derived from the kanji for " sei " (alternatively pronounced " makoto ") means " fundamental truth ." Seidokan therefore emphasizes an approach to Aikido which requires continued honest evaluation of both technique and philosophy. In particular, Seidokan follows the line of tradition of O'Sensei which encourages ongoing refinement of the art to accommodate a modern way of life. Technique as taught by Seidokan Kancho

for Sensei's Message and Upcoming Events The Aikido Center of Los Angeles is located in the Little Tokyo District of downtown Los Angeles. The Dojo was established in 1974. The Chief Instructor is Reverend Kensho Furuya, Aikido 6th Dan and Iaido 6th Dan Kyoshi. He is a direct student of the late Doshu Kisshomaru Ueshiba and trained at the Aikido World Headquarters Hombu Dojo in 1969. We are directly affiliated with the Aikido World Headquarters, Hombu Dojo Aikikai. The Dojo The dojo is located in a secluded corner of the Little Tokyo district of downtown Los Angeles. At the corner of Vignes and Second Streets is a private lane leading to artist loft studio #7, which is the Dojo. There is not much walk-by traffic nor are there major thoroughfares. It is very quiet and private, excellent for training. The Dojo's entranceway is a small Japanese style garden which leads to a handcrafted dojo built in the style of a 16th century samurai mansion. Most of its furnishings are antiques direct from Japan. Many of our guests from Japan declare that it is "more Japanese than Japan". Some consider it to be one of the most beautiful and most traditionally styled dojos in the world. Everyone is welcome to join us for training. Reverend Kensho Furuya Rev. Kensho Furuya is a 6th Dan in Hombu Aikido and 6th Dan Kyoshi in Muso Shinden Ryu Iaido, with over 40 years experience in martial artists. Furuya Sensei earned his degrees in Asian Studies at the University of Southern California and Harvard University. He trained at the Aikido World Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan in 1969, under the late Kisshomaru Ueshiba Doshu and established his Dojo in 1974. Furuya Sensei was ordained as a Zen priest in 1988 and received the honor to speak at the United Nations in the following year. He is the author of many articles on martial arts and has appeared on many television programs speaking on the subject. He is the author of the book
