Links The club was formed in 1968 as Kingsthorpe Canoe Club. and renamed two years later as Northampton Canoe Club. It has moved its paddling base around the town over the years. mainly operating from Midsummer Meadow. In July 1999 we moved in to the Nene Whitewater Centre. The club is predominantly. but not exclusively. a white water club. We have a lot of recreational white water paddlers. and also White Water Racing and Marathon Racing training groups. We also do inland touring. and some coastal trips. as well as surfing and an annual expedition to the Bitches. There are a lot of family members and juniors. Groups from the club have paddled in the French Alps. and individuals in Germany. Switzerland and Slovenia. We have a range of courses . starting with come-and-try-it sessions approximately monthly throughout the summer. and 1-star. 2-star and 3-star courses running regularly. If there is a need we also run 4-star and have access to training for aspiring coaches. The club has a stock of boats and equipment available to members. allowing new paddlers to develop their paddling before needing to buy equipment. This includes equipment suitable for intermediate paddlers on the NWC course. The club meets at the NWC once or twice a week. and once a week in the town's main swimming pool. the Mounts. This Friday evening session also provides a chance to arrange impromptu weekend trips.

Introduction
Carlisle Canoe Club is an active canoe and kayak club with about seventy members participating in whitewater river running, playboating, Canadian canoeing (open canoeing), sea paddling, surfing, and canoe polo. Recent trips have included whitewater paddling in Norway and the French Alps, the Tryweryn in Wales, the Roy, Spean, Etive and Orchy in Scotland, sea paddling in the Hebrides, open canoeing on the Mountain River in Canada, flat water trips to Ullswater in the Lake District and much more (read about them in our newsletter ). We have club sessions twice a week in summer on the River Eden in Carlisle, and once a week in St Aidans school swimming pool in winter. Every weekend in winter groups of more experienced paddlers go to paddle our local Cumbrian and Scottish rivers.

Landslagssjef senior, Kjell Tore Solvang, har kommet med et tilleggsforslag til NM-innstillingen. Forslaget vil bli behandlet på TKF-møte, og vil bli fremmet på tinget. Se hele forslaget under "Les mer". Les mer Vedrørende NM-forslaget! Innstillingen til endring av NM-reglementet har de siste dagene ført til mange diskusjoner i norske flattvannsklubber. Styret NPF har også tatt stilling til forslaget. Blant annet går styret inn for å innføre 3000m til fordel for 10000m/5000m. Styret ønsker også å beholde junior-K4 som egen klasse i NM. Vi har også registrert engasjement vedrørende forslaget om rullering på 200m og 500m i senior. Dette sammen med det øvrige innholdet i NM-innstillingen vil bli diskutert på TKF-møte i morgen kveld kl. 20.00 på Toppidrettssenteret. Vi håper at alle klubbene blir representert på møtet, da vi her vil prøve å jobbe fram et felles forslag med utgangspunkt i innstillingen. Dette vil vil bli lagt fram for Tinget. We offer double tubes so parents can enjoy tubing with their young ones without the worry of being separated from them About Our Equipment Chippewa River Outfitters has many canoes, kayaks and tubes to serve you. We recommend only two people per canoe, except where there are small children. Rates are per canoe. We provide each canoe with paddles, a USCG-approved life jacket for each person in the canoe and free van transportation for all members of you party. Weather Conditions We operate rain or shine. Rain right before your trip may improve your canoeing experience. If weather conditions are extreme, water currents too swift, or water levels too high, we issue a rain check. We do not issue refunds due to inclement weather. Rain checks will be issued and must be used in season issued. Reservation Procedure Due to the popularity of canoeing and to avoid disappointment, reservations are recommended - especially on weekends. Cancellations must be made with at least 48-hour notice to be eligible for refunds. However, group cancellations must be made 7 days in advance of reservation date for refunds. Reservations require partial payment. Credit cards are accepted. Walk-ins and short notice reservations are welcome on a space-available basis.
