It is not designed to guarantee success, but hopefully by reading this document you will become more familiar with some of the strategies involved in playing the game. However, the information presented will not be effective if your team does not practice and work together. History has shown that all of the successful teams practice routinely, with some beginning as early as mid-July, for the fall semester. The 80-yard flag football field is divided into four zones and two 10-yard end zones.

Saturday March 22, 2003 2:17 PM EST Time Out! Order Free! International Youth Sports Congress Click Here For the Jamal's Gym Survey Excellence! Flag Football Drills Agility sprint - Line the players up at the 10-yard line. When the whistle is blown they sprint to the 15, backpedal to the 5 and sprint to the 10. Quick toss - This is a great way to develop hand-eye coordination among the players. Have four players form a circle and give two players footballs. At the coach's command the players begin tossing balls to the player on their right and then whenever the whistle is blown the direction of the balls is reversed. This can be a fun drill to use at the end of practice by including more players and more balls. Square Sprint - This is a good way to loosen players up before practice. Place cones at the corners of a 15-yard square. Line the players up at one corner of the square and have the players one by one sprint to the first cone, side-step to the second cone, backpedal to the third cone, and sprint back to the fourth cone. As each player finishes the drill, the coach can also throw a pass to them. Strip Drill - This helps players learn to protect the football while running. Form two lines of players facing each other. Have the center snap the ball to the quarterback, who will handoff to the running back. The running back will sprint between the two lines of players, who will try to strip the ball loose as the player runs by.

WELCOME March 22, 2003 Canadian Pat Bowlen is one of the NFL's most influential owners
By ROB LONGLEY Toronto Sun Special for NFLCanada.com It was in 1990, just six years into his tenure as the owner of the Denver Broncos when the NFL's most accomplished Canadian had this to say about his management style. "As you people in Toronto know, it's a lot easier for an owner to screw things up than make them great," Pat Bowlen said to a Canadian reporter prior to the Super Bowl. Full Story

    Tim Paske Appointed Head Coach
Tim Paske has been appointed to take over as Head Coach of the Greene Trojan football program. Tim, a Physical Education teacher in Greene, replaces former Coach Lynne Simmons, who retired at the end of last season, ending a very successful nine year career at Greene. Coach Paske enters into his new assignment with impressive football credentials. He has served as an assistant in several high school programs in Michigan. He has also worked with the football program at the University of Michigan , as well as a scouting intern for the NFL's Buffalo Bills. The last few seasons he has served as the Head Coach of Greene Junior Varsity program, playing a major role in the resurgence in participation, as well as on field success. Coach Paske is looking enthusiastically forward to 2003 and the exciting challenge of replacing Coach Simmons. To build on the foundation of excellence Coach Simmons established, and leading Greene to even greater success in the future.
