You could play as X-Com, you could play as the aliens, and after EA pulled the plug on the server, you couldn't play at all. Laser Squad Nemesis is the same, only different. Since LSN is being published directly by the developers, Codo, there's less of a chance of the plug being pulled on the server. The combatants have all been invented for the game and bear no resemblance to the human factions of the original Laser Squad or to any of those in X-Com . But that's no problem, because the key similarity is the developers: LSN Laser Squad , and X-Com all sprang from the minds of the Gollop brothers and their merry band. These guys have forgotten more about making tactical battle games than some developers have ever known, and it shows. If you liked the tactical battles in X-Com , chances are you'll find the tactical battles in LSN just as fun.

Designed by Nolan Bushnell, member of the VIDEOTOPIA Advisory Panel, Computer Space was the first commercial arcade videogame. Pong, Atari Inc., 1972. Using the profits from Computer Space, Nolan Bushnell formed Atari and tapped Al Alcorn, member of the VIDEOTOPIA Advisory Panel, to construct this first commercially successful arcade videogame. Tank, Kee Games/Atari Inc., 1974. Tank was the first videogame to use ROM (Read Only Memory) chips to store graphic data. ROM chips allowed TANK's on-screen characters to be more detailed, rather than simple blocks like Pong, or collections of dots as in Computer Space. Gunfight, Taito/Midway, 1975. A two-player game set in the old-west and the first game to utilize a microprocessor. Breakout, Atari Inc., 1976. Designed by Atari's fortieth employee Steve Jobs, aided by videogame enthusiast Steve Wozniak. The two later went on to found Apple Computer, using parts "borrowed" from Atari to build their first prototype.
