PALM SPRINGS As a Palm Springs High School freshman, Mary Chatigny turned in an all-star season in water polo, then headed to the pitcher’s mound to play softball.
Looking back, she says she felt like a fish out of water.

Ross Blondin, who has two saves to his credit, got the win in relief of Justin Fitzgerald, who pitched the first six innings. The Cardinals had no one on base, two outs and two strikes on the batter when they rallied. Chris Jensen, Billy Ensrud and Jason Buhagiar all singled to set the stage for Weese's dramatic game-winner.
