(15/03/2003) - Another New Location

Keen to get back on with training and put the disappointing result behind us, we spent the next few days on the water of Cadiz. With the wind ranging from 5-25 knots we got to experience a range of conditions that could occur when we next return to Cadiz, which is all good practise for the big one....the worlds in September. It was then time to start the road trip. Just over a thousand miles from Cadiz to Cannes, which I am proud to say we did in record time, managing to catch a flight home 20 hours earlier than expected! So the boat is now waiting for our return to Cannes for the Spring Cup on Thursday, when the racing season gets into full swing!
(11/03/2003) - Cadiz Test Event - Day 3
Having just written an essay report for the final day, the computer just died on me. That just about sums up this regatta! Well, I don´t have enough time to re-write what I had written, so I´ll just say we finished 36th out of 54 and 13th girls out of 19. This regatta has been a real let down, what can I say but we´ve got to stick at it. Our upwind speed has been a total issue recently, something we have never struggled with. Even the coach couldn´t put his finger on the problem, but there are a few things we´re gonna change that unfortunately we can´t do until we get back to the uk. We´re here training for a few more days before driving over to Cannes. The past two days it has been very windy and we haven´t been able to go sailing.
