PINEWOOD / EDGBARROW TRAMPOLINE CLUB
Since the inclusion of trampolining in British Gymnastics, Pinewood Gymnastics Club have been keen to offer all gymnastic disciplines to a high level. To that end they have accessed Edgbarrow Trampoline Club for high level training and have provided a satellite club - Pinewood/Edgbarrow Trampoline Club based at Pinewood. A strong link between the two clubs has been established and many activities are shared.
EDGBARROW TRAMPOLINE CLUB - ORGANISATION
We have no minimum standard requirement to enter the club. Each member is allocated their own coach with whom they work in small groups. We also run a Personal Programme Scheme which encourages members to train independently and requires a great deal of self motivation and self discipline. Club members decide the level to which they wish to aspire and the amount of training required is set accordingly. National Grade competitors are encouraged to train at least two/three times a week with their coach. International competitors are encouraged to train five times a week.
FUNDING
The club is a private trampoline club. We hire hall space from Edgbarrow and Bracknell Sports Centres, buy, maintain and insure our equipment. Training fees are set to cover these costs plus coaches expenses. At times we need to 'top up' funds with fundraising.

Bit of Irish Intelligence!
This is a new club that started at the beginning of Semester B 2001. The club has a brand new trampoline and hopefully we will have another one in the near future with thanks to some fundraising!
We train twice a week in hour slots at the Arc and we shall be entering a team into the Scottish and British University Championship this year.
Superb coaching is available for all levels, whether you want to bounce for fun and fitness or to compete, all are most welcome.
This is not only an opportunity to get fit and have fun whilst doing so, it's a chance to socialise and meet new people, trust me - nights out will be frequent.
Look out for posters around campus or for info about us send an email.
We are heading for Dublin for a competition in April on the 3rd, 4th and 5th. Will be great fun with lots of alcohol involved. We have a team of 8 people going over, they are David Law, Carol-anne Lee, Michelle Dunlop, Nicola Beattie, Seana Ritchie, Yvonne McKissock and also Cheryl Christie and Josie McCreadie.
We are also teaming up with strathclyde Uni for traveling and accommodation which will make it even more fun with all of us together.

At the time of going to press the BUSA Gymnastics Championships have not taken place. UWIC is entering two womens teams and one mens . Training has been promising and augurs well for both men and women , who will be competing as defending champions. On the mens side, Dean Manning won a bronze medal on Parallel Bars at the North European Championships and also made Vault final. Lloyd Byrne made Floor final. Both were representing Wales and both are members of the Welsh Commonwealth games squad and are currently preparing for final trials. In the London University Open Tumbling and Sports Acrobatics competition UWIC won the Mens and Womens Individual Tumbling events through Jack Jefferson and Victoria Bould ; Simon Pittman taking bronze in the mens. In Sports Acro Jack and Victoria won gold in the mixed pairs event; Jenny Simkins/Joanne Lindores / Victoria Bould finished with a bronze in the Trios competition. Claire Wright has established herself as one of Great Britain's most successful trampolinists ; Current British Champion, Claire won the gold medal at the Four Way Trampoline International Match (Denmark v France v Germany v Great Britain), in Naestved (DEN) in April. She also took synchro gold at the World cup event in Russia , and a silver at the World Games. Claire also set a world record score for a synchronised routine! Add the two bronze medals she won at the World Championships, and it's small wonder that Claire Wright has had her best season ever!

Trampolining
Trampolining has recently become the seventh competitive discipline of British Gymnastics. There are four disciplines within trampolining: Individual trampolining – performers do a ten bounce routine which is comprised of jumps, moves which have body contact with the trampoline bed, and somersaults which can range from simple single forward or backward ones to very complex somersaults with multiple rotations. Synchronised pairs – the gymnasts work on different trampolines performing an identical routine, synchronised. The gymnasts work closely together, developing good communication skills, building up trust and responsibility for partners. Tumbling - tumbling is performed on a specialised sprung track of up to 40m. Double mini tramp – This is the newest trampolining discipline which involves tumbling skills performed on apparatus which is a cross between a trampoline and a trampette.
