Large video screens for sporting events, and fixed installations for stadiums and venues.
http://www.mitsubishi.uk.com/dv1.htm
The Diamond Vision Difference: Crisp Clear Bright and Flicker Free Images. Mitsubishi's high technology screens have set the standard for brightness since their introduction. In practice that means better visibility even in bright daylight which combined with enhanced definition television image processing system and quadruple dot pattern cathode ray tub, achieves remarkably vivid images unlike any produced by other systems. Since the debut of the Diamond Vision LEDer screen at the Grand National, the LEDer has gained a reputation for being the best quality LED (Light Emitting Diode) screen available on the market. Being packaged in a modular format makes the LEDer a very flexible system perfect for indoor environments where reduced viewing distances are required and light weight and low volume become important factors. The high packaging density of the LEDer modules allows the system to be affordably freighted overseas. Outdoors the LEDer is a formidable player due to it's brightness and weatherproof construction. The LEDer can be used stacked on Diamond Vision's own aluminum support structure incorporating an overhead hoist allowing the installation of the modules without additional plant, alternatively the LEDer can be hung/flown from a truss or beam using electric chain hoists. The LEDer has been used at a number of prestigious events including Formula One Motor Racing, International Tennis, Athletics, Horse Racing and Music.

80. Stadium Game Not Worth Playing -- Call To The Bullpen By David Maull

Call from the Bullpen by David Maull The Bullpen Sports Front Page Stadium Game Not Worth Playing
From the Oct. 22, 1998 TV Times Why would anyone in his or her right mind support a public tax increase to fund the construction of a new professional sports stadium or arena? Let's take a look at the benefits voters would receive in return for their tax dollars:
    • The right to pay $40 for an upper level seat that is so high one runs the risk of getting a nosebleed or having an encounter with some form of winged wildfowl.
    • The personal seat license, which requires a person to purchase the right to purchase season tickets. How this scam has escaped the scrutiny of our justice system is beyond me.
    • Less money in the community for education, public works projects and recreation centers.
Throwing panic into the hearts of sports fans is one of the favorite pastimes for professional sports franchise owners in the 1990s. By now, we're all familiar with the diatribe (hankie and violin music, please): "In our present facility we cannot generate the revenue necessary to field a competitive team. The only way to generate that revenue is through the construction of a new (insert appropriate choice here) 1. baseball stadium, 2. football stadium, 3. hockey arena, 4. basketball arena. Without the tax increase to fund construction, we must explore other markets that might be more financially advantageous to the franchise."
