Judith Ingolfsson's performances in 2002-2003 include appearances with the Symphony Orchestras of Iceland, Victoria, Vermont, Long Bay, Peoria, Cape Cod and West Virginia as well as the South Carolina and Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestras. This season also marks her first as a performing member of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center's Chamber Music Society Two. Ms. Ingolfsson's Carnegie Hall debut recital in April 2000 affirmed her ascendancy as a rising star. The New York Times stated, "Judith Ingolfsson gave a technically assured and interpretively astute recital...and made her performance a journey to the soulful core. She gave a sizzling account, producing both fireworks and a singing tone." As a recitalist, she has performed throughout the United States and abroad, including the La Jolla Chamber Music Society, Grand Teton Music Festival, the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC, the Cleveland Museum of Art, Reykjavík Arts Festival in Iceland, Pro Arte Musicale in Puerto Rico, La Asociación Nacional de Conciertos de Panamá and the Macau Cultural Center. Her festival appearances include the Cape and Islands Chamber Music Festival, the Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival in Finland, the Menuhin Festival in Switzerland, and the Orlando Festival in the Netherlands. Ms. Ingolfsson has appeared in numerous radio and television broadcasts. She made her first appearance on Icelandic television at the age of five. Since then her notable performances have been seen on PBS, CBS Sunday Morning, and NHK of Japan and broadcast on countless radio stations internationally. In 1999, National Public Radio's Performance Today named her Debut Artist of the Year praising her "remarkable intelligence, musicality, and sense of insight."

Debut Artist of the Year, 1999 NPR Performance Today Award Icelandic violinist Judith Ingolfsson is the recipient of numerous prestigious competition prizes. In 1999, she was named "Debut Artist of the Year" by National Public Radio's Performance Today. Ms. Ingolfsson won First Prize at the 1998 International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, where she received the first 24-karat Joseph Gingold gold medal, and a special prize for the best performance of a Bach work. Other recent prizes include the Nathan Wedeen Management Award at the 1998 Concert Artists Guild Competition, Third Prize and the Audience Award at the 1997 Paganini International Violin Competition, and First Prize at the 1997 D'Angelo International Young Artist Competition. Since making her solo debut with the Waiblinger Chamber Orchestra in Germany at the age of eight, Ms. Ingolfsson has been featured as soloist with numerous orchestras, including the Philadelphia Orchestra, Kansas City Symphony, Pacific Symphony, New Haven Symphony, Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra, Iceland Symphony, and the Orchestra of Teatro Carlo Felice in Italy. Highlights of her 1999-2000 season include appearances with the St. Louis Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony, San Diego Symphony, Grand Rapids Symphony, New York Pops at Carnegie Hall, and the release of her debut CD on the Catalpa Classics label. VIOLINIST JUDITH INGOLFSSON OPENS LA JOLLA CHAMBER MUSIC SOCIETY'S 2001-2002 DISCOVERY SERIES SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2001

La Jolla, CA-The La Jolla Chamber Music Society's 2001-2002 Discovery Series begins on Sunday, November 11, 2001 with a performance by violinist Judith Ingolfsson and pianist Ronald Sat. The duo will perform Schoenberg's Phantasy, Strauss's Sonata for Violin and Piano in E-flat Major, Op. 18, Bach's Solo Partita in B Minor and Ravel's Tzigane, rapsodie de concert at 3:00 p.m. in Sherwood Auditorium at the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego, 700 Prospect Street, La Jolla, CA. Single tickets for this concert are $20 for adults and $5 for students (ages 6-18).
