Extractions: Many attacks are caused by coronary artery disease in which the arteries that supply the heart with blood have with time become narrowed or blocked by fatty deposits. When blood flow is decreased, the heart fails to receive the oxygen and nutrients it needs to function. Because the heart must beat continuously, any interruption in its function is life threatening and immediate medical treatment is needed. Sometimes the heart is damaged so severely it triggers an uncoordinated twitching of the heart muscle called ventricular fibrillation that replaces the normally smooth contractions needed to pump blood through the body. When this occurs, no blood is pumped from the heart and regular rhythm must be restored within a few minutes or death results. What are the symptoms?

Old man in Joplin, Missouri. I live with my fiancee' who is a older woman who has been on disability since she had a massive heart attack and triple bypass surgery in August of 1998. Doctors say she only has about 25% of her heart left working after that. I was layed-off of work Oct. 5 2001. Many of us, me included, were told by the company that we would be called back. The company sent me a letter telling i would not come back at the end of may 2002. All during June my health started failing, now this concerned me since i have been taking good care of myself for 5yrs now. I had a heart attack on July 15, same day my last unemployment check came in the mail. After the heart attack i returned home were i took it easy for a little while, but my body got worse. I had started to swell in the abdomen, now i had retained water because of the heart, but this was different. I swelled so bad that i could bearly breath or move most days. Plus the constant nausea and throwing-up. When i had left the hospital my doctor had said i needed a colonscopy. But i had no health insurance and very little money so i applied for Welfare, for the medicaid, and was denied twice. (Oct. 2, Nov.26) The hard part is deciding wether to apply again or not. In Missouri you need to be unemployed and have no income for 90 days before you can apply. If i get a job and can only work one day i can not apply for welfare for 90 days. Welfare makes you apply for Social Security at the same time, but naturally i was denied that also.
