5-0 out of 5 stars great
This book is very informative and helpful.I would definately recommend it to anyone having difficulty with yeast or candida.

3-0 out of 5 stars a bit of a hodgepodge of advice; good recipes though!
The 'Complete Candida Yeast Guidebook" is not the ultimate reference manual on Candida. The book has two authors, one a doctor and the other a nutritionist, who take turns in discussing matters related to treating Candida. This tag team effort really doesn't work out very well.A great deal of the material is repetitive, and there is almost a total lack of information regarding medical research concerning Candida and its effects on the body. The anecdotal case studies are quite lame. However I found the dozens of recipes (, suitable for those on a diet for treating Candida overgrowth,) to be very thorough.

Bottom line: good value as a recipe book, not much value otherwise.

5-0 out of 5 stars Well organized, well-written, and non-extremist
This book helped my husband to come to terms with the fact that "you are what you eat". After his doctor prescribed a statin drug for digestive issues, we looked into the issues of Candida yeast and happened upon this book and as it turns out, it was the best we found, even after continuing to find additional information. My husband lost 30 pounds in 3 months and I lost 10 lbs while supporting him and eating healthier. We will continue to follow the rules of an anti-Candida diet as well as rotating our diet to take advantag of more nutrient rich food.If you think that you have Candida yeast taking over your body and sapping your energy, it's huge incentive for taking control of your diet and getting your life back!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Combo of Yeast Info & Recipes
If you just started your anti-yeast diet quest and need a book with info as well as recipes, this is your book. If you just want recipes, try Candida Albican Yeast-Free Cookbook, The : How Good Nutrition Can Help Fight the Epidemic of Yeast-Related Diseases. If you want just simple, concise info get The Bible Cure for Candida and Yeast Infections (Bible Cure Series)

What I really like is she covers nearly every supplement that could help you with the yeast.

The author is also a patient and sites case studies.

Get your post-it notepad & highlighter out. Lots on info in this book!

Product Description
Many of the most common symptoms and illnesses that plague us today - anything from fatigue, bloating, and weight gain to prostate problems, arthritis, allergies, depression and multiple sclerosis - can be traced back to a surprising source. Yeast. Yeast and fungal overgrowth - called candida - is pandemic and affects millions. One out of three people suffer from candida overgrowth, which is associated with asthma, allergies, hypoglycemia/diabetes, hypothyroid, prostatitis, weight gain, brain fog and anxiety/depression. In a chronic state yeast overgrowth can also lead to conditions such as lupus, MS, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, autism, and even cancer. The Candida Cure is the most current and concise book on this subject, designed to help millions understand and overcome candida overgrowth. This practical and revealing work describes what candida is and how it can become out of balance as a result of using antibiotics, steroids, hormone replacement therapy, and chemotherapy as well as unmanaged stress levels and diets filled with sugar (white flour, dairy, refined sugar, and alcohol). The first three chapters describe what candida is, how disease starts in the gastrointestinal tract, and how poor nutrition adversely affects candida overgrowth. It also includes a candida health questionnaire. The remaining chapters lay out a 90-day program for beating candida and restoring vibrant health. Diet, detoxification, and supplementation are covered in detail. User-friendly charts, recipes, meal ideas, and sample menus are included to make the program simple and effective. ... Read more

noneed to buy it and wait - google candida curenow.

5-0 out of 5 stars If they can't figure out what's wrong with you this is probably it!
I was referred to this book by a natural doctor who thought I may have this problem. It turned out that not only did I have a virus that wouldn't go away but that I had candida as well as my husband. Since then I have come across many other people I referred this book to. If you follow the diet, which she makes very easy to do, you will feel better, even if you don't have candida. It's just good eating. Ann uses all she has been through to help others with thier health in a simple and easy formate. Seriously you really don't have to read a lot. Most of the book is recipies. My book is completely worn because I have referred back to it so many time. Keep it up ANN!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Worth adding to your optimum health Cookbook Collection
I have been recently diagnosed with digestive health issues... this cook book helped me understand my new dietary needs... experiencing new herb flavors and vegetable combinations... I look forward to trying many more of the recipes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Shout out for this book!
It's time to go candida-free again!I was SO VERY thankful to see acknowledgements from the author to William Crook, MD, and to see Dr. Crook write the intro!!That man changed my life in the late 90's, and it looks like his work has not been forgotten!Thank you, Pat!!I look forward to finishing your book, and seeing if I can find the hidden pearls of wisdom from Dr. Crook!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Just what I needed!
Great book. It was just what I needed for my anti candida diet. Great recipes and very useful tips.

3-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
This book is incorrectly titled. Recipes and food lists include foods that shouldn't be on a candida-elimination diet (like dairy, alfalfa sprouts). Recipes and suggestions make a lot of sense for overall healthy eating, however. I'll probably use some of them, but I wish I'd just gotten the book from the library rather than spent $ on it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Simple & Easy Recipes!
Some recipes are TOO simple (ie, Oats & boiling water) but if you're just starting this diet and were a nuker/processed food junkie prior, you'll appreciate the simplicity.

The ingredients are readily available, they are short & easy to follow. It also includes recipes to make your own Mayo, mustard, etc.

This book does include a Candida Test to see if you have symptoms of Candida overgrowth, but you can find a Candida Test online. If you want a combo book that has more info on yeast as well as recipes, Complete Candida Yeast Guidebook, Revised 2nd Edition: Everything You Need to Know About Prevention, Treatment & Diet is the book you want.

Product Description
Candida is a toxicity syndrome that affects millions of women, but the diet that doctors recommend to patients with this affliction severely restricts many of the foods that make life pleasurable - all sugars, most fresh fruits, milk and milk products, white rice, barley, wheat, most cheeses, all alcohol and fizzy drinks, mushrooms, coffee and most flours. When Gail Burton, a gourmet cook and former food writer from California learned how drastically her medical condition limited her menu options, she wrote the book to help fellow sufferers reintroduce variety and taste into their otherwise bland diets - without sacrificing their health. She includes over 150 yeast-free gourmet recipes from appetizers to desserts, a food chart of problem and permitted foods, a 14-day menu planner, and lists of safe substitute products and sources, including manufacturers. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Feel great!
I started this diet in 1997 on the advice of my allergist and it lasted 2 years until I started working a 12 a day job when I didn't have time for it any more.Within 5 weeks of starting this diet I no longer had migraines, constantly stuffy head or sneezing, 2 years without a yeast infection or athlete's foot. After about 4 years off of this diet it all started again.I am purchasing this book again so I can feel better again.Pleased to have found it so easily.

Found it very helpful in teaching me how to eat well.Receipes were great and I have enjoyed the ones that I have tried so far.It gave me a great guide on how to live this new way of eating to get me back to feeling well. In fact, better than ever.

2-0 out of 5 stars OK
I bought this book because my doctor put me on this diet. I did learn some thins, but I was somewhat disappointed. There does not seem to be a "standard" for the Candida Diet.
This book disagrees with what my doctor told me I could eat.
I should have paid more and bought the book "Eating Your Way to Good Health."

Product Description
For almost 30 years Candida Höfer has photographed interiors, mostly representational spaces accessible to the public, such as staircases, lobbies, reading halls or exhibition spaces. Rather than staging them, she takes their picture in the state she finds them, with great discreetness and a touch of humour.

Libraries are a book producer’s dream. Since nobody photographs libraries as beautifully as Höfer, it seemed only natural for Schirmer/Mosel to dedicate her next publication to the splendid and intimate cathedrals of knowledge across Europe and the US: the Escorial in Spain, the Whitney Museum in New York, Villa Medici in Rome, the Hamburg University library, the Bibliothèque nationale de France in Paris, the Museo Archeologico in Madrid, and Pierpont Morgan Library in New York, to name just a few. Almost completely devoid of people, as is Candida Höfer’s trademark, these pictures radiate a comforting serenity that is exceptional in contemporary photography. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars I can't bring myself to spend the money.....yet
I borrowed this book from the library to see if I was willing to spend the money on it.The answer is not quite yet.But nonetheless, it was absolutely gorgeous, and someday it will be in my collection.I'm keeping an eye out for a decent price on a used copy.

The pictures are simply beautiful, and beautifully simple. There were pictures of libraries that I could imagine myself holing up in for days, looking at books, and other libraries that I can imagine just standing in, looking around in awe, unable to read a word.

5-0 out of 5 stars Libraries
A picture is worth a thousand words! This book says so much and yet there are only a handful of words on each page identifying the library in the photo. As I was "reading" through this book, I realized that I have been in many of the cities or countries where these libraries are located.I missed some beautiful sites. For anyone who has an interest in libraries, this is a must "read."I will be giving this to my son, who is an architect. His specialty is libraries.

5-0 out of 5 stars The snapshot images speak for themselves in this captivating compilation
137 color plates distinguish Candida Hofer Libraries, beautifully capturing seats of knowledge around the world from the Pierpont Morgan Library in New York to the Bibliotheque nationale de France in Paris, the Villa Medici in Rome and others. Aside from a brief introduction, no essays intersperse the eye-catching plates, each of which takes up a whole page with a blank page opposite in a two-page spread. The snapshot images speak for themselves in this captivating compilation highly recommended for bibliophile's coffee tables and photography shelves.

1-0 out of 5 stars Good for one thing
This book is entirely incorrect. All except for the prayer part.
Candidiasis requires a much more strict food plan, and also, a cleanse, and probiotics, as well as several other supplements.
It requires a much more proactive method of approach.
Prayer, however, is a crucial part of the healing process, which is where I find the book to bequite effective.
I like the prayers in the book!
So, if you need wordage for prayers, it's good.
I spent more, however, on the shipping charges than the actual book itself, and I would not buy it again.

5-0 out of 5 stars Short, but Concise, must have
I've done a lot of research on yeast and this book seems to have it all in what could almost be a pocket guide.

Even if you're not religious but have a yeast problem, I highly recommend this book. I was actually disappointed at the lack of bible references. But, back in bible days we didn't have antibiotics and processed foods, two major things that contribute to yeast.

If you're looking for your first book on yeast, get this. If you already know a lot this may be redundant. However, makes an easy pocket reference guide. The only draw back - no index. But, if you read the whole book you can usually remember where to look to check back on something.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Bible Cure for Candida and Yeast Infections
This book is compact, but filled with great information re: these issues.Well worth it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great little book
If you suspect (or know) you have a candida or another type of yeast overgrowth, you definitely want to read this book. Lots of practical information about symptoms, causes, diagnosis, nutrition, treatments, and lifestyle. It's quick read and very informative - especially if you want to help cure yourself.

I've only been on the recommended diet for one day, but I already feel much better. No bloating at all, which is a huge relief! Time will tell whether or not Dr. Colbert has a real cure. In the meantime, the advice in this book probably won't hurt you- and it might help!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Bible Cure Works

3-0 out of 5 stars Not as pleased as I had hoped
I honestly had high hopes for this book based on some of the reviews. However, the recipes in the book are not ones I would use. There are a few - but not many. The educational part of the book is helpful, but I found the Candida Albicans Yeast-Free Cookbook to have better and more recipes to use.I think all of the diets go overboard. Not one doc can seem to agree exactly HOW much to avoid and what to avoid. Some docs do not even believe it is possible to have systemic yeast overgrowth. After being on the diet now for 3 weeks - I can see a difference in how I am feeling.Maybe it is just all the fresh veggies, meat, lack of sugar and junk, no bread that is making me feel a bit better - but whatever it is... I'll take it ;-)
If you want to get the book for nutrition info and educational purposes, this IS a good book for that (although I feel a tad strict) - recipes??? Not so much, at least not for us... Plain, bland, and unappetizing

4-0 out of 5 stars Coping with Candida Cookbook
I have been on an anti-candida diet for 5 months so far.I have purchased 4 different cookbooks on the subject and find that this book is the one I go to the most often for ideas, info and recipes.Dr. Rockwell has written a most versatile book, offering creative ideas that I can work into my own lifestyleand not just "her rules" or strict guidelines as other cookbooks do.She has menu plan suggestions, "brown bag" & snack ideas, as well as food allergy info. When you are ready to add grains back into your diet, she tells you which order to add them back in from the least to the most allergy-producing types. She also offers her newsletter at the end of the book which keeps one updated about the Candida problem. In addition to her web site she refers one to sources for special foods which are not easily found at the local grocery store.Second to her book, I would recommend Gail Burton's book, The Candida Control Cookbook.I have lost 20 lbs. since starting this diet and am feeling much better!Whatever cookbook one uses, consistency with the diet is the key to ridding your body of too much yeast! ... Product Description
... This book is very helpful when learning about candidas. It contains information to change your lifestyle to cope.It also has some recipes.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not the book I thought it would be...
There are many columns and lists of foods that are either good or bad but the layout often makes it difficult to interpret and some of the lists need far more clarification. Many of the recipes were just not things the average person needing to make a dietary transition would want to try.I found the Complete Candida Yeast Guidebook to be far more readable, user friendly, informative and a better bang for the buck.

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally!
Finally someone has figured out that depression, fatigue, lack of motivation, confusion, headaches, yeast infections, PMS, cramps, and everything else that ails ya can be attributed to this biological event.I was so tired of being misdiagnosed.I went into a doctor's office looking for nutritional information 4 years ago, and all I got was a diagnosis of anxiety and a prescription for prozac. It took me two years to get rid of its side effects. I only took it for 5 months before I decided it was very wrong for me to be taking this drug as I realized that my problem wasn't starting in my brain chemicals as is the latest theory.
The body fuels the mind, so I started paying attention, about 3 years ago, to the way my body reacted to soda pop. Since then I have changed my sugar intake and thus eliminated my depression, aches and pains, headaches, colds and flu, lost weight, gained energy and motivation...everything is different for the first time in my life. The first time!
I was searching for a way to explain my recently frequent yeast infections and stumbled upon this book at a local drug store. I have had them since I started menstruating, and thus started experiencing fluctuating hormones. This book shows a lot about how my lower-middle class American diet of processed foods has certainly attributed to the problem as well! At 35 I am healthier than I have ever been and going through stage 1 to get my balance in check, so that I can control the infections, eliminate the candida growth, then progress through stages 2,3 to bring my diet and biology back into harmony.
I am so excited about finallly finding a "cure".So far, the only difficulty here in the Midwest is finding the stage 1 foods in my city (pop. 300,000). The nearest organic/health food store that carries antibiotic, and growth hormone-free meat is about 35 minutes away. And I spent 3 hours with this book in hand at the main grocery chain trying to find sugar and yeast-free foods. It is everywhere in everything! I am not surprised at America's obesity problem anymore now that I am an avid label reader. especially since eating healthy is 2 to 3 times more costly!
I highly recommend this book for anyone who is intuitive and perceptive about their bodies' behaviors, and for those who are tired of being told that it's all in their heads.Chemically imbalanced yes, but not in the brain.
The real imbalance(and injustice) is the way we have been forced to eat and live in this country. While I got a fatter waistline, those who process the crappy food I ate got fatter wallets. So did the pharmaceutical companies, the "specialists", the "doctors", the clothing companies where I had to keep buying clothes that fit, the cold drug manufacturers, and everyone else who made money from my illnesses. This book is freedom and control in your life if candida is your problem. Buy one, buy many, and share them with everyone you know.

5-0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive and very well put together.
I've read many books on this subject. The best thing about this book is that it gives you hope. 3 stages to this diet and easily explained with common sense and science. The recipes are easy and wonderful. There are appropriate lists of foods that help you see how to plan. This is not a "fad book" but brilliantly put together by women who know the subject and have lived the misery. There is simply not one negative I could say about this. It is the only book I've seen that gives a person a complete understanding of what is going on within the body, the consequences, and a way out that leaves you with a positive outlook. Gone are the absolutes of a bland menu. The ideas are new and undated. Everyone has their own version of things, as is said, but this is a plan that is possible to follow and also enjoy at the same time. Not kidding. The recipes are good enough for someone not suffering the condition also. Good for guys too. We can get this imbalance also. You can't lose.

Product Description
Candida Höfer creates meticulously composed images of public and institutional spaces marked with the richness of human activity, yet largely devoid of human presence. Whether a photograph of a national library or a lounge at Volkswagen's headquarters, Höfer's images ask us to conduct distanced, disengaged examinations through the windows she creates. The collected images present a universe wholly constructed by human intention, unearthing patterns of order and logic imposed on these spaces by their absent creators and inhabitants. The Architecture of Absence examines Höfer's oeuvre and its relationship to the work of other noted students of renowned professors Bernd and Hilla Becher.Essays by Constance Glenn, Virginia Heckert and Mary Kay Lombino.Hardcover, 9.5 x 11.5 in./112 pgs / 69 color. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars a calmed, laconic, maybe social phobia- attitude ...
A quiet humor wanders like a ghost through the laconic photos of Candida Höfer -- no people can be seen but via the devices of the rooms, libraries, hotels, halls, museums, canteens -- one can suspect still the existence of human beings indirectly. With a similar humor understanding the physicist Georg Christoph Lichtenberg once wrote: "If the posterity of the year 35.000 (or another planet's class of sensible nature) would find a lady suit completely undone and if they wanted to determine the figure of the ladies who would have been covered with that, -- what figure would come out?" The aesthetic experiments of the German Photographer Candida Höfer activate such associations. One of her book publications is entitled "Room Monuments" (of course without any human being). Before the beginning of her studies (learning from the renowned professors Bernd and Hilla Becher in Duesseldorf, Germany) Candida Höfer had taken photographs of Turkish fellow citizens in business, tea-rooms and parks. The people then disappeared from her photos. Was this the bad influence of her studies with the married couple Bernd and Hilla Becher, who had photographed only the industry architecture of the German Ruhr district maniacally (stubbornly ignoring all that connections between Nazi-politicians and steel-industry, around Hitler and Krupp, Goebbels and Thyssen) ? Or is there hiding a shock, Candida Höfer experienced, as the role of her father, Werner Höfer, a famous TV-talkmaster in the 1960's, was criticized by investigating journalists, checking his own role in the Nazi-era? Did this chase the daughter in a kind of social phobia? Although there is a coffee-table book of Candida Höfer with live (locked in zoo animals) she mostly prefered to make pictures of prepared, dead animal bodies in museum collections. Is such a misanthropic distance necessary to create a counterbalance against traumata, suffered by the modern mass culture? Writers like Canetti (Austria) or Saul Bellow (USA) reacted with comparable feelings -- or philosophers like Arthur Schopenhauer (Germany) or Ortega y Gasset (Spain). Perhaps there is a third evident explanation of Candida Höfer's decision how to work (besides the Becher-studies and the father trauma): the minimalist aesthetics theory of the Bauhaus tradition; quiet, empty rooms help to fulfill a meditative, calmed, laconic life-style attitude -- a task to which the painting of Piet Mondrian or Josef Albers also felt obliged -- why not photography as well?

2-0 out of 5 stars Perfectly Titled
As with other Becher students, Hofer's images are captivating because of their expansiveness and detail - neither of which are reflected in the layout of this book. The images are tiny for no apparent reason. This effectively reduces Hofer's amazing work to a series of oversized postage stamps.

Unless the design is intended as a tongue-in-cheek acknowledgment of the title, this dilettante overview is a miserable failure.

I suggest purchasing Candida Hofer, A Monograph. It is large, bold and a substantial compendium of her work.

5-0 out of 5 stars Devoted to the sweeping images themselves

The collaborative work of Constance W. Glenn, Mary-Kay Lombino, and Virginia Heckert, Candida Hofer: Architecture Of Absence is a spectacular full-color monograph featuring the photos of Candida Hofer, who has taken snapshots of cultural centers such as libraries, museums, theaters, cafes, waiting rooms, universities, and churches for over thirty years. The images reveal structures created to gather, organize, and perpetuate human purpose. An introductory essay guides the reader through the photographer's intent and efforts in capturing such locations on film, but the majority of Candida Hofer: Architecture Of Absence is simply devoted to the sweeping images themselves - empty of people at the time the picture is taken, yet showing rows of seats or broad hallways just waiting to be filled. This is an exceptional and welcome addition to architectural as well as photography collections.

4-0 out of 5 stars Bible Cure
This is a tiny book that has some good information about candida and has information about the diet if you need it. I've been on the diet for a while, and was a little disappointed by the recipes...some use processed foods like tomato juice, which is hard to find without citric acid. It doesn't use too many hard-to-find ingredients though, so it's great for a family that is just starting to make the transition from the standard American diet to the candida diet. The Bible Cure Overcoming Candida (Bible Cure (Siloam))

4-0 out of 5 stars Bought it for its recipes
It has some decent sounding recipes, although I haven't tried them out yet. Even though the title says Bible I did not think it would have religious quotations in it.But, as I said, I bought it for the recipes and now can't wait to try them!

2-0 out of 5 stars Not the best cookbook
As someone who is new to the candida world the information provided was extremely useful. The recipes on the other hand left much to be desired.I am an avid cook and had to ammend the recipes I tried in order to make them somewhat palattable. Some like the baking, were unfixable and had to be discarded. Some of the combinations suggested are absolutely unthinkable. If you are looking for good background information on candida this is a great book.If you are looking for great recipes, try something else.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best candida diet I have ever tried...
This book is amazing.I have suffered from candida overload for 20 years (I had tried diet and alternative medicine many times) and it had developed into chronic fatigue - I was struggling to get to work each day. After reading her book, I hired a nutritionist from Ms. White's business (we converse via e-mail - ... and took the supplements recommended and carefully followed her four point plan and diet.I am, at only one month, feeling great - out of bed and on the move! All my pains are gone, my sinuses and acne are clearing up, I have lost 20 pounds, even my fungal toenails are clearing up.I still have to stay on the diet a year at least, but it is very much worth it.None of the other methods have worked as well as this. This thorough and complete program really works and I can't recommend this book and her program enough.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not much use, really
A lot of Christian tosh interspersed with some useful information about practical steps to take to get Candida under control. The recipes are useless for people following food-combining or gluten-free diets.Overall, I wish I never bought it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Helped me with food and chemical sensitivities
This book was a godsend of help for my MCS and food reactions. I react far less intensely and less frequently after doing those energy balancing techniques. And the supplement suggestions were great. I also benefited from doing a phone consult with Prof. Rochlitz. And he just came out with a new book for us MCS, EMFS and food reactors. It's about how we may have underlying porphyria, and to help with that. See the site, [...].

But this classic, Allergies and Candida has stood the test of time, and is highly recommended!

5-0 out of 5 stars A well written reference book
I'm on my second reading of this excellent book.I'm sure I'm so fascinated with it because it describes my condition and some very good solutions that the author has developed and perfected over the years.I'm looking forward to implimenting them as soon as I learn the techniques described.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent - the allergy/sensitivity testing is on the money
This book led me to read the ingredients on my toothpaste. Everyday, twice a day, I was sabotaging my health by brushing my teeth.Although Toms of Main toothpaste is a really great toothpaste (my dentist noticed my cleaner teeth), it is made with Xylitol - which as explained in the ingredients list is derived from Birch.I read the label on my toothpaste after using the testing techniques and finding not only a weak muscle, but that my whole arm went weak (from just holding the tube of toothpaste). According to my allergist Birch is my worst allergy. I no longer feel like falling asleep during the day (at least in the mornings after I would brush my teeth) and at night I am sleeping better.I am working on the Candida and other allergy issues now. Some of the directions get a little confusing but even his basic exercises are very helpful.

5-0 out of 5 stars This book is a must read for anyone interested in health
This book is a must read for anyone interested in health, not just those with allergies or candida. It contains information you could spend years searching for plus insights from the author you will not find anywhere else.

I use the techniques in the book on a daily basis to increase my mental clarity and physical stamina.

If you are sick or just want to stay healthy and feel great, get this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Guide For Getting Well
In the course of my more than 13 years of battling with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, I have read literally hundreds of "health books".I have come to judge these books on whether or not they contain useful, practical information, and if applying the information results in a significant improvement to my health. After reading this book and following the principles it explains, I went from spending days to weeks at a time barely able to get out of bed, to working fulltime and resuming a normal lifestyle. This is one of the very few books I have ever read that effectively addresses the usual collection of otherwise "incurable" chronic illnesses, which have become so widespread.I would wholeheartedly recommend this book for anyone who is seriously interested in overcoming one of these chronic illnesses.Wishing you the best of health! ... Product Description
The architectural history of the Louvre stretches back to the early 13th century. A comparatively modest royal fortress, it became the royal residence under François I, friend and patron of Leonardo da Vinci. Louis XIV turned the Louvre into a splendid castle. Four years after the outbreak of the French Revolution, the Louvre opened its doors to the public. The royal art collections, with constant additions through Napoleon’s military campaigns and forays as well as donations, purchases and excavations, today make the Louvre one of the world’s richest and finest museums. Candida Höfer, known for her images of deserted public spaces, photographed the empty rooms and galleries of the Louvre on days when it was closed to the public. In her luminous color pictures, the treasures of Western art enter into a silent yet eloquent dialog with the architectural setting, the luxurious or sober décor, the building’s past, and its present as a museum. 5-0 out of 5 stars Allergy &Candida Cooking Made Easy
This is an excellent book and I have been using it during my cleansing
of all foods but veggies and proteins for the past month. I have never
felt starved which is amazing. Along with this way of well-being eating, and supplements, I have not felt lethargy, joint pain and bloatedness for the past three weeks. This is a very helpful book for finding out how food affects our energy and pain symptoms. Along with eating healthy comes a lot of cooking though!! After feeling so good, I now prefer to give up some of my busy life to devote to my health and well-being.

5-0 out of 5 stars Allergy and Candida Cookbook and much more
I would recommend Allergy and Candida Cooking Made Easy to anyone who suffers with food allergies and or candida. This book is so much more than just a cookbook, there's a lot of helpful information that would benefit anyone with these kinds of health issues. I didn't know anything about rotation dieting, this book not only helps set up that kind of food regimen but it has the weekly shopping list to go by as well. I'm sold on this book and highly recommend it to others.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Information Overall/Other Good References
This book was useful for a number of things - easy cooking directions, lots of recipes, and information on how to set up a rotational diet.Additionally it includes basic instruction for those of us (me!) who don'tcook.

It did seem to introduce sugar a bit soon to the diet as comparedto other books and it did not incorporate other good nutritional theory asa base (such as food combining, acid/akaline theory, blood type theory,etc.).I used much of the information in this book, but modified it toincorporate things that work for me, such as not combining carbs andprotein in one meal, limiting certain foods like tomatoes, using vegetableglycerin for a sweetener, and etc.

Other very good references are TheBody Ecology Diet (Gates), the Complete Candida Yeast Guidebook (Martin),The Candida Control Cookbook by Burton, and The Cure for All Diseases (Dr.Clark).

A tip:Go slow & don't overwhelm yourself with all this newinformation at one time! It's a big change to go from limited time in akitchen to spending most of your free time cooking.I've found it helps tocut out as many social obligations as you can while you rebuild your immunesystem and it really helps to pray for the strength to stick with thechanges you want to make!

• Includes the author's latest research and clinical experience for yeast detection and drug-free treatment

• Over 36,000 copies sold to date

Candida albicans is a yeast that exists inside all of us. Normally it presents no problems, but today's widespread use of broad-spectrum antibiotics, contraceptive pills, and steroids, as well as a sugar-rich diet, can cause a proliferation of this parasitic yeast. This can often be the root cause of a wide variety of problems such as depression, anxiety, irritability, bloatedness, heartburn, tiredness, allergies, acne, migraine, cystitis, and menstrual problems. Leon Chaitow, using the latest research and his own clinical experience, shows how to determine if yeast is your problem and provides a comprehensive, non-drug program for its control.

Candida Albicans: Could Yeast Be Your Problem?
By Leon Chaitow, D.O., N.D.

Candida albicans is a yeast that exists in all of us. Normally it poses no problem, but with everyday stress, consumption of refined carbohydrates, and especially the widespread use of antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, and birth-control pills, it can take over one's body and cause a whole variety of problems. This book eloquently explains how this pathogen gets out of control, causing fatigue, depression, chronic pain, digestive disturbances, skin problems, ear infections, and allergies, to name a few. What I appreciate most is the author's emphasis on non-drug therapies to support reclaiming a healthy internal environment. He uses the latest research and his own clinical experience to show how to detect whether yeast is the problem behind your ills.

4-0 out of 5 stars An excellent introduction to candida albicans.
I had already been diagnosed with candida albicans when I had the good fortune to find this little book.I read it in one sitting and was released from years of guilt and confusion over my uncontrollable emotions. I learned that emotional instability, among many other symptoms, was dueto the candida.I am purchasing multiple copies of this book to give to myfamily and friends because it is an excellent and easily understood tool topresent candida albicans to people who have never heard of it.It is notthe definitive work on the subject but it has enough information to get yougoing. The natural course of curing candida is much more successful thanusing pharmaceutical drugs and this book touches on that area.I wish thatthere was more information on curing candida in this book but other thanthat, it was extrememly helpful and encouraging.
