5-0 out of 5 stars Great Workbook!!!
This book was very helpful in overcoming my problem. You need to realize that it isn't a straight read but a workbook for you and your partner. It has WONDERFUL relaxation techniques,an anatomy chapter, a question and answer section, a dialator therapy section and specific sections on various disorders.I found it very helpful.I recommend this workbook to anyone who has a problem of this sort.I found myself overcoming this problem (that I had for 6 years) in a matter a weeks after starting the workbook.Great purchase!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars summary to a woman's guide.....
This book works very well as a tool, i.e. a workbook with exercies that need to be preformed and reflected upon. I would have preferred more case stories; but overall this is a personal book that deals with intimatesubjects. The authors do cover a wide range of topics, and attempt to giveequal treatment to relationships beyond hetrosexual couples, which shouldbe useful to some readers. I would have found it benefifcal to know inadvance that this was designed as a workbook, so that proper time couldhave ben devoted to the book. Perhaps the title might be changed from a"guide" to a handbook or workbook. I would recommend this book, and ample time to the reader, for women who can benefit from assisatnce andadvice in overcoming sexual fea and pan. ... Read more

Product Description

While dyspareunia (or, painful sex) is estimated to affect millions of women, it is a condition that causes embarrassment and silence—often going undiscussed or undiagnosed. And while more doctors are beginning to recognize sexual pain as a physiological, not a psychological, condition, most are still quick to prescribe antidepressants and numbing agents to mask the pain instead of treating its cause. Now, Director of the Centers for Vulvovaginal Disorders Dr. Andrew Goldstein and leading researcher Dr. Caroline Pukall tackle the stereotypes, myths, and realities of dyspareunia, addressing its more than twenty different causes and offering the most up-to-date research. This book provides the long-awaited answers to so many women’s questions.

Frank, authoritative, and accessible, When Sex Hurts helps women understand why they hurt and what can be done about it.
