Product Description
Difficult to diagnose, impossible to "cure," Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) appears to be a modern medical nightmare-come-true for a growing number of victims. A disorder known by names ranging from "Raggedy Ann Syndrome" to Chronic Epstein-Barr Virus disease, CFS strikes with the following devastating symptoms:

  • Extreme weakness and exhaustion
  • Persistent apathy and depression
  • Memory loss
  • Impaired concentration
  • Recurrent achiness, low-grade fever, swollen glands
  • Exaggerated allergic reactions
  • Hypoglycemia
  • Aggravation of preexisting conditions
  • Susceptibility to secondary illness
  • Now there is hope for CFS sufferers. Jesse A. Stoff, M.D., has helped hundreds of CFS patients such as Charles R. Pellegrino, Ph.D., to achieve apparently permanent remission of the syndrome with a comprehensive program aimed at strengthening the immune system. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome: The Hidden Epidemic is a combination of Dr. Stoff's advice and Charles Pellegrino's example as an "exceptional patient." It points the way for CFS sufferers to achieve a true healing of body and mind.

5-0 out of 5 stars Chronic Fatigue System
A great book that will help put an end to a lot of the questions about CFS.This should be read by anyone who has been diagnosed with CFS or has a loved one with CFS.

5-0 out of 5 stars Endorsed by the Institute of Anti-Aging and Longevity
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, the Hidden Epidemic is an amazing book. Initially, it can be difficult to get through the first two chapters, but a real gem of a book with anyone dealing with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Epstein Barr Virus, Cytomeglovirus, HHV-6, Fibromyalgia and Environmental Toxins. We have been using the advice from Dr. Jesse Stoff for years at the Institute of Anti-Aging and Longevity in Carson City, Nevada because we believe that Dr. Stoff is correct in the belief that the body can heal itself through it's own immune system when dealing with the five issues that weaken the immune system called the P.I.T.T.S. which stands for Poor Nutrition, Infection, Toxins, Trauma and Stress. We have been applying the protocals from Dr. Stoff with excellent results. This book is a godsend from Dr. Stoff. It really goes into detail of the hows and whys of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and how to put it into remission with your own immune system.Dr. Stoff give excellent protocals to help the patient and the book gives 80 per cent of his treatments, but if you combine this book with his lastest one called The Prostate Miracle on cancer you have an excellent outline of what to do to improve you health, your immune system and putting the disease into remission. We have been using his research for years and find that the key to helping the patient the most is dealing with the stress and the new nutrient AiE10 in the Body Wise AG Immune to "trigger" the communication pathways of the immune system; especially as a modulator since so many patients (especially women) are dealing with auto-immune difficulties such as Lupus, Multiple Sclerosis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Candida, Fibromyalgia and other combinations of viruses and bacteria. If anyone would like receive the advanced protocals of Dr. Jesse Stoff's lastest research in this area we would be more than glad to offer help at 1-800-878-6659 at the Institute of Anti-Aging and Longevity. What has been very helpful from Dr. Stoff is the T and B subset panel of white blood cells that allows the wellness professional to interpret the data on the immune function of the patient which leads to the proper protocals to take on immune reconstitution in dealing with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

1-0 out of 5 stars Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Unlike other reviewers, I found this book very disappointing: confusingly, sensationally(and obviously hurriedly) written, and, worst of all, medically out of date.

5-0 out of 5 stars This book was a tremendous help
I was diagnosed with Epstein-Barr 6 years ago at the age of 22.My doctor told me to go home and get some rest.I had no idea what to do to rebuild my immune system. My future mother-in-law sent me the book, and I immediately began following the suggestions about diet, sleep, etc.I called 1800solstice and ordered the vitamin/herb supplements and homeopathic remedies Dr. Stoff had formulated specifically for CFS patients.Within 3 months I felt better than I had in years.

I recommend this book to anyone who is suffering from CFS, fibromyalgia, Candida, or any other immune deficiency disease.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must read for those with questions about Chronic Fatigue.
I have been diagnosed with CFIDS for over ten years and I promise you that no other publication comes close to informing the reader with more accurate and detailed information.I myself was a human "guinea pig" for doctors in my area who just couldn't seem to understand all the changes that my body was undergoing.I truly am pleased that Dr. Stoff can deliver such a straightforward idea of the private suffering and ridicule that those of us who are diagnosed go through, while explaining the unknown changes that take place in our bodies that seem to defy medical explaination by "experts".This is a must read for all those who are newly diagnosed or know someone close to them that is diagnosed. ... Dendritic cells are vital to induce potent anti-viral immune responses. It will become clear to the reader that dendritic cells often play a dual role during viral infections. On the one hand they are able to mount potent antiviral immune responses, and on the other hand several viruses, including HIV-1, use DC as a vector to be transferred from the periphery to the lymph nodes where they infect their prime target. ... Product Description
The questions of how the pathogenic human herpesviruses cause diseases, and what should be done to prevent infection and disease have prompted scientific interest in the molecular basis of the functions of all human herpesvirus genes in various tissues and organs of the infected host. This volume compiles the knowledge on the pathogenicity genes of herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2, the ones which have been most actively investigated at the molecular level. It adds to the understanding of herpesvirus gene involvement in diseases and shows the potential of this knowledge for planning new strategies for the development of vaccines in the future. The book will be of great help to physicians and to scientists concerned with the involvement of herpesviruses in aggravating patients' conditions, leading to a life threatening infection. ... Product Description

Post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorders are a group of conditions that straddle the borders between infection and malignancy. They were very rare prior to the mid-1980s but now can be expected to develop in 1-10% of transplant recipients. While some cases are reversible with reduction in immunosuppression, more severe forms are indistinguishable from frank lymphomas.

This book sets out to cover in depth every aspect of these disorders, including both basic science and clinical topics. The epidemiology is reviewed, and careful attention is paid to the role of Epstein-Barr virus in their development. Clinical features are documented and clear guidance is provided on diagnosis, with thorough description of pathologic and imaging findings. Further chapters are devoted to treatment, prognosis, preventive and pre-emptive strategies, and organ-specific considerations.

The state-of-the-art information contained in this book will aid researchers as well as the many different professionals involved in caring for patients with post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorders. The comprehensive and detailed coverage will appeal to those who already have some expertise in the field, yet the book will also serve as an invaluable resource for beginners in transplantation.

    Product Description

DNA Tumor Viruses will focus on the DNA viruses in the human population that are associated with cancers. It will cover most of the viruses that are thought to contribute to human malignancy.

This book will represent a comprehensive review of the field of DNA tumor virology. Right now, while there are books out there that cover individual viruses that will be also covered in this book, there is no single book that covers this topic comprehensively.

The main textbook in this market, Fields, which is referred to by both reviewers, covers some of these topics but on a lower level. The only two books that are nearly as comprehensive as this one are Human Tumor Viruses, which was published by the American Society for Microbiology in 1998 and is quite outdated, and Viruses, Cell Transformation, and Cancer, which was published by Elsevier in 2001. Our book will be the only current, comprehensive review of its kind in the market.
