Product Description
This up-to-date and comprehensive set of two CD-ROM discs provides a superb collection of official Federal government documents on the subject of Fifth disease, a viral infection caused by parvovirus B19. The virus only infects humans - it's not the same parvovirus that you vaccinate your dog or cat against. Fifth disease mostly affects children. Symptoms can include a low fever, cold symptoms and a red rash on the cheeks, arms, legs and trunk. Adults who get it might also have joint pain and swelling. It is easy to catch fifth disease. Infected people have the virus in their saliva and mucus. You can get it when you come into contact with those fluids. Frequently washing your hands might help prevent getting the virus. Most people become immune to the virus after having it once. For patients, practical information is provided in clearly written patient education documents. For medical professionals, doctor reference tools and texts have detailed technical information and clinical background material. There is no other reference that is as fast, convenient, and portable - everything you need to know, from the federal sources you trust. This thoroughly researched collection presents vital information from many authoritative sources: Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Centers for Disease Control (CDC), National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the relevant institute for this disease, and others. In addition to the comprehensive disease-specific coverage, this disc set also includes our Medical Encyclopedia, a $19.95 value! 4-0 out of 5 stars THE BOOK
1. For the used-book buyers
I ordered from non-US region. It took 2~3 wk till I get it delivered. The condition was OK. Even though the book was once a property of library, it was almost a new book. You can count on the reseller's rate for your satisfaction.

2. The Contents.
Most people in the ID field has already chosen this book to be the reference. As I majored Immunology in the grad school which was focused mainly at molecular level, I needed some bigger view to the disease and this book is more than enough to fill my neeeds. But if you are not a MD or candidate, you might really not need the Vol.2. It has all the other syndromes listed in the same format through the over 1500 pages, and look so boring (for the student who is used to read bio texts with abundant figures and tables). ...
