2-0 out of 5 stars maybe an easy read for a pre med student!
Not an easy read.
The information was not in lay terms.
The information was good, but over complicated.

5-0 out of 5 stars I have my pre-baby body back
I have struggled with stress incontinence since I gave natural birth to my son 15 years ago.I did Pelvic Muscle Rehabilitation(PMR - through my OBGYN) and kegels multiple times a day.I had surgery (a bladder lift and uterus removed). This did help somewhat but over the last 15 years the problem has gotten worse.I have been doing PMR again for the last 5 weeks which measures the strength of your kegel and also does electrical stimulation of the vaginal muscles.I wasn't seeing much improvement until I got this book and then ordered the ball and band to be able to perform the exercises.WOW! I have also begun using the abductor and adductor weight machine at my gym in the way the ball exercise is described in the book.As suggested, I have been doing the exercises 3x a day (they take about 15 minutes). What a difference.I haven't told my OBGYN yet but last time I went for PMR they told me that they saw good improvement.I had been doing the exercises for only 1.5 weeks. I am going to buy her the book and give her a copy.
The exercises are basically physical therapy for the entire pelvic girdle and not just specifically the kegel muscles. They are not hard to do at all.And once you have regained your pelvic strength then you can begin the maintenance exercises which are less time consuming.Where there is a will there is a way...

5-0 out of 5 stars This is very helpful!
If you or someone you know has incontinence problems, this is the book for you. Kegel exercises are very out dated and don't help in the least! This book teaches you to do easy to follow exercises for the muscles that support the pelvic floor and it really does work!I know a lady who went from using depends to using 3 pads a day to using only one pad and she said to me one morning "I've stayed dry for 3 days!"Another lady Iknow was able to resume enjoable activities because she regained control of her bladder, dignity, and life.Try it, you won't regret it.

4-0 out of 5 stars UI
This book is the basis of most UI programs and is a great resource for any therapist interested in developing a UI program in any setting with any population. This book lays the foundation required for an effective UI program.

5-0 out of 5 stars Easy to Use

5-0 out of 5 stars An amazing, wonderful book!
In my opinion, this is a Terrific book for women! It is very well written, and not at all condescending to women. There are millions of women that should read this book. Many women deal with this subject in silence, as I did, because of embarrassment and a hard thing to share with your friends. Everything is explained so well in plain language that we can all understand! This is a book and "Subject" that needs to be on "Oprah"! Bravo! Well Done! Thank you for writing the book.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Resource
This book provides lots of information for those of us who suffer from pelvic pain. There are probably way too many excercises for most people to follow, but I'm trying many of them

5-0 out of 5 stars a wonderful holistic approach to healing pelvic pain for the lay person
Healing Pelvic pain has been an incredible asset to me. I am new diagnosed just six weeks with intercestial cystitis and found out about Amy's book through the IC Network.I have been using the breathing, massage, and pelvic exercises now for just a week several times a day and I am seeing improvement not only in lessening my pain but stress level also which I am find a necessity to any type of healing. My goal is to get off all the meds that have been presribed to me for my illness and I feel strongly that with Amy's book and hard work I will be able to do so. I thank Amy for taking the time and effort to put together such a wonderful resource! I hope in the future she can produce a DVD, that would be a great help.

5-0 out of 5 stars program that helps
Amy Stein has written a book on a subject that is common and not often discussed. In her book she has made statements that I had not heard before and have helped to clarify a lot of information for me.She is the first one to suggest that relaxing the pelvic muscles first, before strengthening, is necessary if you are in pain. Her home program is really helping!Thank you, Amy

5-0 out of 5 stars Great resource. A true self-help book.
What a great book! Amy Stein tells us everything we need to know to treat ourselves. She is not holding back some advanced secret treatment that is only revealed on a for pay web site or at an expensive seminar. It is also devoid of all the psychobabble that is present in other books that cover the uro-genital area. She is above board.
    Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Lots of explicit information/self-help for pelvic disorders
Heal Pelvic Pain is an absolute must read for people who suffer from any sort of pelvic/bladder/bowel disorder. Amy Stein covers a lot of ground and give explanations in simple terms to help people understand the source of their pain. She have clear instructions on exercises and stretches to begin or incorporate into an exercise program to help stop the pain. She also adds simple self-care treatments that can take the edge off the pain and support the healing process. I found lots of questions answered in this book that other health care professionals didn't know or failed to communicate to me. ( I have seen many!) I highly recommend this book!!! I plan to pass this book on to my doctor so the information can be spread to others who suffer as well. ... Read more

    Product Description
This econometric study covers the world outlook for adult incontinence products across more than 200 countries. For each year reported, estimates are given for the latent demand, or potential industry earnings (P.I.E.), for the country in question (in millions of U.S. dollars), the percent share the country is of the region and of the globe. These comparative benchmarks allow the reader to quickly gauge a country vis-à-vis others. Using econometric models which project fundamental economic dynamics within each country and across countries, latent demand estimates are created. This report does not discuss the specific players in the market serving the latent demand, nor specific details at the product level. The study also does not consider short-term cyclicalities that might affect realized sales. The study, therefore, is strategic in nature, taking an aggregate and long-run view, irrespective of the players or products involved. This study does not report actual sales data (which are simply unavailable, in a comparable or consistent manner in virtually all of the 230 countries of the world). This study gives, however, my estimates for the worldwide latent demand, or the P.I.E., for adult incontinence products. It also shows how the P.I.E. is divided across the world's regional and national markets. For each country, I also show my estimates of how the P.I.E. grows over time (positive or negative growth). In order to make these estimates, a multi-stage methodology was employed that is often taught in courses on international strategic planning at graduate schools of business. ... Read more
