Product Description
An ulcer is an open sore in the lining of the stomach or intestine.Peptic ulcers are eventually caused by acid and pepsin, a digestive stomach enzyme. These ulcers can occur in the stomach, where they are called gastric ulcers, or they can occur in the first portion of the intestine. These are called duodenal ulcers. Peptic ulcer is a term used to describe either or both of these two types of ulcers. H. pylori and certain drugs are the two major factors that cause ulcers. This issue provides a comprehensive overview of the causes, diagnosis, and treatments of peptic ulcers, including conditions like Zollinger -Ellison syndrome. Articles are devoted to NSAID ulcers and how to prevent them, stress ulcers, and antiplatelet therapy. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars FOR FINDING ANSWERS A USEFUL &INFORMATIVE QUICK READ
"Ulcer Free: Nature's Safe & Effective Remedy for Ulcers" by Georges M. Halpern, MD is one of the more useful and informative books on the subject of peptic ulcer care. This book is written from the viewpoints of the doctor, scientist and teacher, all of whom the author is. Though concise, there is room in this paperback for chapters dealing with Peptic Ulcer Disease, NSAIDs and Ulcers, Lifestyle Causes and Factors, Symptoms and Diagnoses, Conventional Ulcer Treatments, Alternative and Complementary Treatments, A Natural Approach to Ulcer Treatment and Conclusions plus a helpful Glossary and extensive references.

WHAT REALLY SETS THIS BOOK APART:

"Ulcer Free" examines the likely candidates for treatment that you have tried or may have yet to try. Different medicines and classes of drugs are discussed and evaluated based on their efficacy, long-term effects on the human body and side effects. Even Traditional Chinese Medicine is included. Most importantly, a revolutionary new treatment using Zinc-Carnosine is examined in depth.

Scientific studies are referred to through the entire text, and as books written for lay people go, this book includes some pretty good science. Add to this, it reads fast and understandably while addressing the concerns of the patient. In an hour or so, you will be able to find answers to many specific questions about medicines, symptoms, dosages and alternative treatments as they existed in 2002.

Product Description
This econometric study covers the outlook for peptic ulcer testing in the Middle East. For each year reported, estimates are given for the latent demand, or potential industry earnings (P.I.E.), for the country in question (in millions of U.S. dollars), the percent share the country is of the region and of the globe. These comparative benchmarks allow the reader to quickly gauge a country vis-a-vis others. Using econometric models which project fundamental economic dynamics within each country and across countries, latent demand estimates are created. This report does not discuss the specific players in the market serving the latent demand, nor specific details at the product level. The study also does not consider short-term cyclicalities that might affect realized sales. The study, therefore, is strategic in nature, taking an aggregate and long-run view, irrespective of the players or products involved.

This study does not report actual sales data (which are simply unavailable, in a comparable or consistent manner in virtually all of the countries in the Middle East). This study gives, however, my estimates for the latent demand, or the P.I.E. for peptic ulcer testing in the Middle East. It also shows how the P.I.E. is divided across the national markets of the Middle East. For each country, I also show my estimates of how the P.I.E. grows over time (positive or negative growth). In order to make these estimates, a multi-stage methodology was employed that is often taught in courses on international strategic planning at graduate schools of business. ... Read more

Product Description
This econometric study covers the latent demand outlook for peptic ulcer testing across the prefectures and cities of Japan. Latent demand (in millions of U.S. dollars), or potential industry earnings (P.I.E.) estimates are given across some 1,000 cities in Japan. For each city in question, the percent share the city is of it's prefecture and of Japan is reported. These comparative benchmarks allow the reader to quickly gauge a city vis-a-vis others. This statistical approach can prove very useful to distribution and/or sales force strategies. Using econometric models which project fundamental economic dynamics within each prefecture and city, latent demand estimates are created for peptic ulcer testing. Product Description
In this book the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and therapy of most aspects of peptic ulcer disease are examined in detail. Covered are the pharmacology of the parietal cell and the latest hypotheses for the development of acid-peptic disease including epidermal growth factor, gastrin and other peptide hormones, fatty acids and prostaglandins, helicobacter pylori, and gastric acid hypersecretion including Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. The book also deals with the newer antisecretory medication such as omeprazole with a review of H2-receptor antagonists. Rounding off the subject are chapters on gastroesophageal reflux disease, upper GI endoscopy, and videoendoscopy including digital imaging. This volume addresses a wide range of physicians who are interested in all aspects of acid-peptic disease. What distinguishes this volume from others is the timely update on a number of important issues pertaining to acid-peptic disease. Not only does it review a number of topics that are of great interest at the present time, but it introduces a vast amount of new unpublished data. ... Read more

This econometric study covers the latent demand outlook for peptic ulcer testing across the states, union territories and cities of India. Latent demand (in millions of U.S. dollars), or potential industry earnings (P.I.E.) estimates are given across over 2,300 cities in India. These comparative benchmarks allow the reader to quickly gauge a city vis-a-vis others. This statistical approach can prove very useful to distribution and/or sales force strategies.
