1-0 out of 5 stars Very Poorly Written!
I wanted to write a review almost identical to the previous reviewer Pam Gill's, but couldn't find the words to describe how I felt about the book. Pam Gill articulates my feelings exactly. I am a disabled Registered Nurse, who has suffered with progressive RSD/CRPS for almost 7 years. I found the book to contain inaccurate information in several different locations, as well as a very poor attempt to convey her own story of RSD/CRPS. There are few, if any, references to recent peer-reviewed scientific journal studies related to RSD/CRPS. I realize the author is not a professional writer, and as such, the expectations are not as high. Her intent, I'm sure, was to try to help others with this unfortunate diagnosis, but I felt the book was very poorly edited, and when I looked to see who the editor was, it appears it was her husband. There are numerous, numerous spelling errors, horrible grammar and punctuation usage - and as a result, I also found the book very difficult to read,Unfortunately, I would not recommend it, and feel it is not at all helpful for anyone newly diagnosed with RSD/CRPS. I did not give this book one star because I felt it deserved it - there was not an option to give it 0 stars as I would have chosen to do.I also was very sorry I wasted my money on this book!

1-0 out of 5 stars A very amature attempt to help.
While the book was probably written with the best of intentions, it is so badly written as to be frequently incomprehensible. The spelling, grammar, usage, and punctuation are very non-standard, which is to put it nicely. No one helped Kathy Frame to edit. There are recipes which would not be good for a person with RSD to eat. They use mostly heavily processed foods, much sugar and salt... seriously, adding canned mushroom soup to packaged macaroni and cheese, putting cool whip on jello. I feel for the woman who wrote it as she is a fellow sufferer, assuming her story is her story. Still there is so much space filler and bad information that I have to wonder if she just thought she could throw any old thing in and make some money. When I called the publisher to complain, I finally reached a woman in the Phillipines who explained that once a book is received it can't be returned. There would be no way to know how sorry this book is unless you did indeed "receive" it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book, very informative on a difficult disease.
Very well written, easy to understand book.Lots of useful information on RSD for someone who has the disease or just for someone who wants to learn more about the disease or what it is like to live with the disease. There needs to be more books out like this for the public to became aware of this disease that very few people know about.

4-0 out of 5 stars RSD In Me
This book was not only full of very helpful information it was inspiring and uplifting as well. A very good read for anyone dealing with RSD or other chronic pain. This is something I will pass on to family members and friends.

5-0 out of 5 stars Highly recommend this book. I give this book to my Dr.'s, family and friends to help them understand my RSD/CRPS
I seem to buy this book every month because I give it to everyone that wants to know about my RSD - CRPS. This book is easy to read. I have a hard time concentrating while I am reading anything with this condition and the author takes this into consideration and makes the text and spacing very well spaced so its very clean and concise looking.

I have read allot of the RSD/CRPS books and I rate this #1 as of this writing.

My Dr.'s love this book, helps them better understand me and how to treat me.

I give this book to family and friends because it answers most of their questions.

I usually look it over once a month because it inspires me to do something that is healing and positive and helps release the pain of this condition.

Find a loved one or a friend and sit together and read chapters of the book back and forth and then have discussions.

Also if you have someone helping you in anyway and you have RSD/CRPS you have to get this book for them! Give you lots more peace of mind, and clear up allot of confusion about this condition.

Enjoy :)

5-0 out of 5 stars Best up-to-date information
This is the best compilation of RSD information presently available. The author candidly shares her daily trials resulting from RSD.There is a great deal of misunderstanding on this topic. The name of the affliction itself has been changed umpteen times due to the varying theories.Through my own research, I came across a statement that I can't quote, but went something like, If hell were an affliction, it would be RSD.Thanks, Ms. Ingle, for sharing your story. Many will be comforted by the light you've shed on this subject. Many blessings to you and yours.

5-0 out of 5 stars I'm buying copies for my Doctors too.
This is the most up-to-date resource on RSD/CRPS available today. It has a lot of personal stories by the author which are used to illustrate the practical information provided in each section.
There are real-world applications for issues Pain sufferers face everyday, from putting on clothes to explaining their condition to family, friends and even strangers you meet on a plane ride so that they can all help you not just cope with pain, but LIVE LIFE with it!
It is amazing how much information is gathered in this book, things even my doctors didn't know about RSD/CRPS, that is why I decided to get two more copies for them. In the daily struggles of life with chronic pain, every moment of reprieve is a blessing. Thanks to this book, those moments come more often. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy-audio
When we first recieved this tape---I was very disappointed. The actual title is "Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy and Causalgia in the Upper Extremity". My reason for the order is for someone I know who has RSDin the "lower extremities"But I gave the tape to this personanyway.Well, this tape is very informative and is not exclusive to upperextremities. The person I gave it to says "this is a tape I couldlisten too 3 or 4 times at least. It contains lots of information and iswell presented wherever the RSD is located on the body". So I am veryglad I did not send it back just because the title says "UpperExtremitiey" RSD is difficult to find professional written or spokeninformation on and this is a reasonable cost also.

5-0 out of 5 stars Living with the pain of RSD
I have just been dianogsed with RSD and want to learn all I can about this disease.I have it in my foot from foot surgery and my DRS seemed at lost as to what to do except nerve blocks.
