INCREDIBLE
I cannot believe that there is such a thorough, such a complete book on the subject of Sciatica but here it is.This book touches on any and all questions one would have on this condition from what Sciatica is, what might cause this condition ( there are many ), to treatments of this sometimes debilitating problem and much, much more. I am a Podiatrist and I highly recommend this for a necessary read for I too suffer severely from this Malady and it has helped me understand my condition as well as put me in the direction of a treatment that I feel comfortable with.

Very informative book
Excellent, informative book. The authors explain many different causes of sciatica and is easy to understand. They also explain many treatment options. The author seems very knowledgable on the subject. The book was definitely worth the money.

What a joke...horrible book!!
The information in this book is laughable at best.Unfortunately, bad information to sufferers of low back and leg pain is not funny at all. I would highly discourage anyone from wasting their money on this text.

A patient gave me this book to read because they wanted to know if it would help them.After reading it, I told them to throw it in the garbage. The text lacks any credibility, the author obviously has no medical training, and there is no reference section to back up any of the assertions made. He even got the number of vertebra in the neck and spine incorrect which would have required nothing more than a simple Google search to verify.

As a physician, it angers me to see books like this get published which are more propaganda than fact, contain multiple errors and flat out lies, make no attempt to scientifically validate opinions presented, and lead the reader with fallacy to approaches that are not based in science. Furthermore, I can hardly believe that a chiropractic physician with a nursing degree would agree to write the scant forward when the information presented in the alternative medicine section is no more than an overview with numerous erroneous assertions.

The only section of the book I found worthwhile were chapters 8 and 9 on exercises and proper lifting and ergonomics.Again this section is not comprehensive, but I found the best information to the reader in these sections.However, you can find the same information in many other books on back pain.

The Siatica Relief Handbook
Excellent book for people with suffering with sciatica nerve pain.The book has much useful information and illustrations to help relieve back pain associated with the sciatic nerve.I highly recommend this book.

Decent book for beginners.
I bought this book to try to relieve some sciatica stress that I am having.It is decent for the beginner by giving an overview of what sciatica is, what causes it, etc.It explains some treatment options such as; surgery, homepathic remedies, excercises, massage, acupuncture, etc.However, the treatment options have very small overviews of what they are and what they could do.I would have rated it a little higher if it gave me a little more detail.Also, as another reviewer stated is that you can find most of what is in here on the internet.You could probably get it cheap, I got it for $4 with shipping.If you could get it for around that, why not?Anything that helps with sciatica is better than nothing!

Don't waste your money
Do not waste your money on this book if you have acute sciatic pain.It is beyond worthless.It is nothing but the thought processes and philosophies behind homeopathy.It is grossly mistitled, and should be called simply "homeopathy" because there is next to no concentration on sciatic pain or the relief of it, beyond some mind control and what nonsense (emotional issues) might be causing it and other pains you are experiencing.This is most definitely NOT a book that will help people with sciatic pain.See a good chiropractor and have him adjust you for relief from your pain.And do NOT waste money buying this book for it.If I could have given a no-star rating, I would have!!!!!

As a sufferer of Sciatica, I have tried all the 'traditional' means, but nothing was really helping. Years of this pain were making me give up hope that I could ever live a normal life again. Dr. Fishman is concerned with the "patient" and quality of life.Many doctors view back pain as separate from the person.Dr. Fishman has sincere interest in helping patients and giving sound advice.

Extremely helpful tool in understanding my back pain........
I was very impressed with how this book expained the reasons for my many different back pains. It was very easy to discover why and where my pain was coming from, and what to tell the doctor. I have suffered with backpain for 8 years, and have discovered this to be a very useful tool indealing with the doctors. It is written so wellthat everyone canunderstand it without having to have a medical degree. I would highlyreccomend this book to anyone who suffers from back pain, and would like tofind a better understanding oftheir pain and symptoms.
