Excellent resource on torticollis.This was recommended by our physical therapist when we were trying to assess our options for therapy and petition our insurance carrier to continue coverage of physical therapy.I found it very helpful even though I don't have background in physical therapy. ... Dr. Pathak did a wonderful job of explaining the various aspects involved in Spasmodic Torticollis and its clinical course. By using actual clinical experiences the author succeeded both in providing a thorough discussion of the disorder, while also adding interest to a somewhat obscure topic. From the supplier: Torticollis predisposes babies to develop deformational posterior plagiocephaly. Torticollis correction, whether surgical or using physical therapy, may be helpful. Usually no laboratory or radiologic testing is used unless there is suspected infection or bony abnormality. Passively stretching the neck 5-6 times each day at diapering time is used. Changing position of the crib relative to the door and changing the position of crib toys and mobiles will get the child to look the other way. Upright or prone postures would be better in awake time.
