Lots andlots ofinformation
There is a great deal of useful information packed into this book.

I haven't looked at any other books ofthis type, so I have no basis for comparison. That said, this book may not be sufficiently user friendly for those who are truly math phobic. The author gets down to business and is not chatty. So, there isn't a great deal of "hand holding" provided in this book.

But, I suspect that most people will be able to find the information they need in this book and successfully solve their math problems.

Overpriced for inferior quality
This book is awkwardly stitched together from Wikipedia content, but costs the same amount ($10) as the Kindle edition of the Schaum's outline. For the money, I find the Schaum's to be more comprehensive and easier to read.

Great Reference Book
This is a very good reference book for high school students going into college and college students working on a technical degree.I am an engineer and use it for the math equations I sometimes forget.I would recommend purchasing this book if you work in a technical area.

most useful book ever
I got this book as a 1st year undergrad in 1980. Today I'm a professor and I still use it every day.I've been through three copies. The oldest one is falling apart badly, but I still have them all: one upstairs at home, one downstairs and one at my office. Integrals, Taylor series, vector identities, special functions, transforms ... it doesn't have everything you'll ever need, but it comes as close as possible for a book you can carry in your laptop case. Highly recommended.

Excellent Text for Undergrads or Grads
This book has everything in it as far as formulas.If you are looking for examples, this is not the book for you.I had some difficulty remembering Integration by Parts for my current Grad class.This book helped out.It also helps out for all those pesty integrals and derivatives as well.I've been using this book for 2 months in my classes.Although I don't always use it, I never leave home without it.

Also covers Taylor and Fourier Series, Laplace Transforms, Statistics, and other stuff as an engineer I've never had to learn and never plan to. ;) ... Read more

Rules of Thumb review
I thought that the calculations were very relevant and easily explained. Most pilots both VFR and IFR certified will find lots of useful tips. It also provides explanations for calculations that may have been learned by rote during our studies.
A number of the explanations show exactly how standards have been arrived at as well.

great for non everyday pilots
I recommend this in every flight bag for those of us who dont get to fly every day. This will help you a lot. has all your formulas and calculations you will ever want. plus some good checklists.

a good way to pass the time during a cross country
Thought this would be a nice book to browse.I've spent many x-countries looking at this book and applying the formulas.Sure, it could have more "tricks" and/or explanations, but then it won't be able to fit in my shirt pocket (and I bet it would cost more).I would like to see the book with the edges tabbed and the formulas grouped better. Overall it's a nice book for the price.

Absolutely great!
The Perfect Sausage contains loads of great and/or absurd formulas, such as how many people hear a bad joke, how much suger you need to coat a doughnut and how to find the area of the white of a perfect fried egg with just one measurement, and lots of other formulas you'll probably NEVER need. Weather you are a Pure Mathematician, or just need to know about formulas, this book is for you! (You can say formulas instead of formulae! The book said so!)
