5-0 out of 5 stars Great Resource
I already use the Daily Language Review with my 3rd graders and felt that incorporating math to their morning work would be a great addition. Each week I copy that weeks lessons and the kids work on a little each day. We vary from teacher checking after completing the work to checking it all together. I prefer to check each individuals work so I know what is being comprehended and what needs more work. The type is big and easy to follow and includes many items from review while also introducing new concepts in easy forms. I highly recommend this book to any teachers library

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent for daily review and practice!
I am a 2/3rd grade teacher and LOVE this entire series.I use the daily math practice as part of the "brain-warmer" period of the day. This is when I give them a sampling of different things (daily word problem, daily language practice, etc) to work on quietly while everyone settles in and I can check homework, count lunches, etc.I find this to be a GREAT tool as it allows students to work on two computation problems, two mixed problems, and one word problem- that way it is not overwhelming, and they are able to review a variety of skills.I find this "brain-warmer" period useful by utilizing a mix of the daily word problems, daily math practice, daily language review, and daily paragraph editing, that way we can review a mix of the skills learned- and the ones that need to be learned for the NJ ASK while mixing it up and not overwhelming the students with too many problems first thing in the morning.

Excellent resource, I recommend it to all 3rd grade teacher and even to parents looking to boost their child's word problem/math skills!

5-0 out of 5 stars Daily Math Practice
I love this book! I was looking for math resouces that touched on third grade skills. I chose this book because it had a few problems to workout everyday. Also, many skills are revisited which gives my students multiple opportunities for exposure to the skills. I prefer to use the sheets for morning work, but it can be used for homework and math learning centers. This book has been a great resource for my students.

5-0 out of 5 stars Math Help
I teach remedial 3,4,5 grade math. Following the format of the other grade level editions, this provides a varied daily parctice and a short graphing of results at the end of the week. I use it as a "Do NOw" every beginning of math class to help keep skills fresh. It is appropriately layed out, appropriate to the grade level curriculum and a good, easy to use format that keeps the children on their toes!

5-0 out of 5 stars good supplement
I'm a firm believer of practice early on math. It will build kid's interest and confidence for the long run. This book is invaluable. It breaks grade 3 math into small pieces and let your child do a little every day. My daughter learned a lot from this book. She often asks further questions and thinks a lot more. It helped her do well in math. In the Beestar online math contest (a nice web site http://www.beestar.org), she often wins honor mentions. Very good math supplement. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A nice summer refresher for homeschoolers
We found the Daily Math Practice books to be a good summer review for our kids. We just happen to homeschool, but they would be equally valuable to anyone. They are not what I would consider comprehensive, but they do help keep things fresh.

Typically, my kids will do a week at a time. The problems are quick enough not to feel like a big assignment, so the complaints are kept to a minimum. Also, the manuals get progressively more challenging - Friday's work is usually harder than Monday's, and the end of the book is harder than the beginning. Check out a few sample pages (an option by the product), to get a better idea of the problem difficulty.

Please be kind enough to indicate if reviews are helpful.

The product itself is fine, the condition it came in was unsatisfactory...it was advertised as used - like new and half the pages were written on.

I purchased this work book for use over the summer.I found that it really helped keep the skill set for my child.Directions were easy to follow and aided in self-paced work for my 10 year old.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent for kids who need a little boost!
This series of workbooks has been invaluable for us.My daughter is mildly dyslexic, and really struggles in school. These workbooks are a wonderful resource to help give another look at what is being taught in school, in a different way. These books helps to reinforce ideas and curriculums by presenting the material in small snippets each day.I showed them to my daughters second grade teacher and she thought they were perfect for helping her keep up with what she learned over the summer, and also would give her the little extra boost that she needs before she begins third grade in the fall.
I firmly believe that you cannot go wrong with this publisher (Evan-Moor) they really know what they are doing!!!

I am happy with the structure and content of this workbook and all the other grade level books by this publisher; I used them in first and second grade with my son and plan to do the same with my daughter.
I piece together my curriculum from lots of different sources, using this publisher as my primary source for geography, math, spelling and language.

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply Amazing!
This book is simply amazing. The explanations are very easy to understand and the questions are very relevant and similar to the ones on the real test. Many people I know have used it, including myself, and have helped us tremendously. I highly recommend this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Tremendously Helpful for My Son's SAT Scores
My son took his first SAT with no prep and scored well below his expectations. He used this book to prepare for his second test. He found it challenging--in a good way. The book helped him to quickly recognize what kinds of questions he needed to improve on, and helped him to get better with each test. He improved his math score from 520 to 690. I'm now using this book to prep my younger daughter for her PSAT. I expect her to improve greatly as well. Based on our experiences, I would highly recommend this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book
Very helpful. Great examples of all the different types of questions that appear on the SATs.

5-0 out of 5 stars 5 SAT Math Practice Tests
Very well written. I only wish Paul Simpson would write more testing manuals. A great learning tool.

5-0 out of 5 stars Stands Out Above the Rest
During my years as a student and now as an assistant tutor, I have pilfered my way through piles and piles of SAT books. I highly recommend this book for many reasons:

-Its language is written to be easily comprehended by the student.
-Current with the SAT standards for test preparation.
-Has material that is detailed and specific
- 5 complex yet informative test are alot easier for a student to achieve greater stride in progress then going through a "encyclopedia" of "how-to's" and "what to look out for"

5-0 out of 5 stars LOVE these!
This is a different format than the Daily Math for 3rd grade. I use daily math in my classroom and it is wonderful. It touches on many different standands and keep practice on those already covered. I LOVE these books!

5-0 out of 5 stars 2nd year my twins are doing this book AND they dont mind!
This is such a good book for each grade.I highly recommend it.They are short problems for each day and my twins don't mind doing them once a day (sometimes they even do more!).It reinforces what they already learned, which gives them the confidence to continue. This book also challenges them on other types problems that require me to explain, but the concept here is to get them thinking and possibly even get them prepared for what they will soon cover in school.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great exercises
i got this book to keep my ingoing fourth grader focused during the summer. It has short varied activities that she looks forward to doing on a daily basis. The problem set only takes about a half an hour to complete and discuss. Great little workbook!

5-0 out of 5 stars Good supplement to schoolwork
The book presents 36 weeks of work in M-F segments. The segments are short so there has never been a battle with my son over doing them.He is in 5th and I am using this to keep his skills fresh as they delve into newer concepts. It covers basic math facts such as add/sub/mult/div as well as ratios, some geometry and word problems.Good all-around review.

2-0 out of 5 stars NOT 6+ grade level
Worksheets are brief and easy to understand, but most are at a 4-5 grade level.Definitely not 6+.Most are completed within 2 or 3 minutes by 6th grader.

5-0 out of 5 stars a very good book
This is a great series. As noted by another reviewer, they're great warmups.I have my students do a day's problems at the start of class. It's a great way of getting the kids settled in and of maintaining skills. The book would also be an excellent extra homework assignment, one in addition to the sheet on whatever skills we're currently using.I have sent the book home for the kids to work on over the summer as a way to keep their skills sharp.I've been pleased with how much of Virginia SOL grade-level skills are covered in the book.

The only downside to this book is that the digits are sometimes a bit small, and the work area is limited. There's not a lot of white space around the problems. If your students have visual tracking problems or visual motor integration problems, this can be problematic.I've worked around it by blowing up each day so it's a page on its own.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great ready to use skill-practice problems
This book is set up perfectly for practical classroom use. There are 5 problmes per day: Monday and Tuesday on the front, Wednesday and Thursday on the back. I have my students complete these as a warm up for each day.

The Friday problem is an mini open-ended problem. I post this on my bulliten board and give my students the week to work on it, then they place their answers in a box for a small reward.

The problems in the book provide a mix of concepts that are not too overwhelming, but still provide a slight challenge. The problems are aligned to math standards, so there is no worring about missing vital conent.

5-0 out of 5 stars from a Teachers Point of View
I bought this book as an aid to helping the pupils I teach with their mental maths skills. It looks very nicely set out and the pupils enjoy doing these mini tasks. So much so I bought the other books in the series for all abilities. ... Read more

These books are super.Kids love playing games, and these books use that to help kids learn the basic math facts through fun and entertaining games.I made these portable and reusable by copying them onto cardstock, and then putting them inside plastic sleeves. The kids then use regular or dry erase markers to mark the answers on the games. When they are done, a wet paper towel cleans the board and they are ready to go again. For traveling I put about 10-15 different games into a 3 ring binder, with the cards done on different colors of card stock, and rubber banded in a plastic bag. These are especially helpful for homeschoolingparents.A great bargin for the price. You will get many years of use out of these books! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Good Math Review
I thought this GRE review workbook competent and concise.Though, it was the only "advanced" math review I could find.

3-0 out of 5 stars Many errors and typos, but OK overall.
I've worked my way through this book from cover to cover and found dozens of errors along the way. There are a few silly typos and ambiguities very early on, and this sort of "sets the tone" for what you expect later on: you quickly learn not to trust the questions, much less the solutions. Obvious typos are one thing, but a number of the questions are so badly-phrased that they are ambiguous. You shouldn't have to guess what the question means!

Worse still, in a number of cases, the *solutions* are just plain wrong. One question begins "A positive number, n, ..." then the solution solves a quadratic to get n=-1.25. Aside from that kind of obvious stupidity, there are more subtle errors in the solutions of the kind that the GRE relies on -- overlooking possibilities, making erroneous assumptions, and misreading the question. For example, the very last question in the book is about 7 books on a shelf having a total of 777 pages, no book is shorter than 90 pages, the 1st 5 books have an average of 105 pages, what's the longest any of the 7 can be? The solution subtracts 525 for the 1st 5, then considers only the last two books and gets 162 pages, ignoring the possibility that 4 of the 1st 5 are 90 pages and the 5th 165 pages. Some solutions don'tanswer the question that was actually asked, another thing that the GRE hammers on. In quite a few cases, the solution is extremely naive "longhand", not done in the quick way that you expect a GRE book, particularly an advanced one, to use. In at least one case, the intersection of two quadratics is found by solving the two of them independently and looking for common roots, rather than equating and simplifying.

Although it's a rather poor book, it is one of very few sources of reasonably "hard" questions, since most of the other prep books are very much aimed at the middle ground of those working toward an average score. It could be a lot worse.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good review for those aiming for 750+ on quantitative section of the
In short, there is no equivalent in terms of advanced workbooks. If you are aiming for a 750+ on the GRE, this is the book for you, along with the following from the same series.

EZ Logic and Stats books
EZ Advanced Workbook
EZ Strategies

The following pros and cons refer to the workbook only.
PROS: The questions are probably just slightly easier than the hardest of questions you may face on the actual exam, so they are good for review.Explanations are brief (pro if you are reviewing and make mistakes due to carelessness, con if you are trying to learn concepts for the first time).

CONS: Needs more problems and it would help to split up the sections as multiple practice tests as opposed to by topic.Gets expensive if you try to buy the whole set.

The above 3 books are basically all that are needed for those that have a solid grasp of all math subjects but need some review before taking the GRE.

5-0 out of 5 stars math
My students love to play with the math mats. They are learning and do not realize that they are learning. It is a great resource to put into independent centers. It is a great time filler for when you have a few extra minutes. It is also great to play with small groups.

4-0 out of 5 stars games that inspire
I teach 2nd grade Special Education and this book has been amazing for me so far.The game boards are in black and white - but you can copy them on colored card stock or color them if you want. Some of my students need to play games or compete in order to participte. Some special ed students, even as young as 2nd grade, have learned that they can use their learning disabilities to get out of certain activities. But they all want to particiapte when a "winner" is involved! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars EZ GMAT advanced workbook
This book is most beneficial if you have done everything that you can possibly do for your math review and just need to gain the extra confidence by laying your hands on some of the most complex math problems. The EZ GMAT workbook is an excellent means to finish your final preparation.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Advance GMAT Math Practice
The EZ Advanced Workbook can be quite intimidating if studied at the wrong time. Use the EZ advanced wb towards the end of your preparation period, after you think you have mastered all the math concepts. The exercises correspond with the various topics in their EZ review books, which make it very easy to go back and forth whenever needed. You can be assured of a thorough refresher of all the math concepts if you have the entire EZ series.

4-0 out of 5 stars Impressive Sole Source for GMAT upper Level Math scores
As someone who was rusty after several years out of school, I found this Advanced Math workbook to be an excellent 'sole source' for targeting high Quant scores on the GMAT. The questions are deep and challenging, and while initially frustrating in the level of difficulty, you will begin to see your Math scores climb as you persevere. Personally feel this is a fine alternative to the GMAT 800 books out there

A word of warning though - do not start with the Advanced version, get the Basics mastered before you wade into these deep waters. One possible area of improvement is improving the diversity of practice exercises a bit, as some of them seemed repetitive.

4-0 out of 5 stars EZ SOLUTIONS TEST PREP MATH SERIES ADVANCED WORKBOOK
EZ SOLUTIONS GMAT SERIES: advanced Workbook

The Advanced workbook is the more challenging work book, hence the word Advanced. This is a book you definitely want to use as you get through with the different sections of math, whether it be arithmetic...word problems. The Advanced workbook has the same format as the other workbook, such as the multiple methods for the given concepts and the detailing of each problem. It is much like the basic workbook, but the questions are a bit tougher, which is good because the harder the practice questions the easier the actual GMAT test may be. So start off with the basic workbook first! In my opinion, all of these books are related. The Advanced workbook is also a bit repititious, but it is effective in remembering the methods and techniques. I like that the author goes over the explanations in a real and thorough manner. Much like a personal tutor. By studying some of the techniques given, you may save time on each question. For me, math has its own language so by using these ez solutions books, when I did a few practice quizzes, I notice I spent less time trying to understand which rule/technque to apply. Of course, this only comes with practice. My only problem with the book is that though it is a combination of all the sections in a more challenging format, you still need the true GMAT form, so you won't be confused come test day. My advice is to use other books that consists of diagnostics, and that are written in a GMAT style. Some of these books only give you the "GMAT" way (one way) to remember a technique, but EZ Solution gives you different methods (Depending on the section you're studying), and you can choose which one works for you. So all in all these books are working for me. Use them to your advantage.

5-0 out of 5 stars GMAT Quants - must have test prep series
I purchased the 11 set GMAT Math Test Prep series a couple of months ago to help me on my GMAT preparation (executive MBA application). Not having touched math problems (arithmetic, algebra & geometry, word problems, data sufficiency etc.) in more than 17 years, the EZ Solutions series took me back to high school and first year university math classes - great books if you were good at math, even better books if you didn't pay to much attention in high school/university.Explanations are detailed with more than enough examples and covers all topics necessary for the GMAT quants. The advance workbook will make you scratch your head a couple of times, but if you covered the basics you just need to apply them to solve the hardest of questions. This book along with the other 10 is a must buy for the quant section of the GMAT exam.Definitely worth the investment - get the set! ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Good starting point if you're lost in the woods but misses probability and stats
When I took my first GMAT practice test, I stopped a quarter of the way into the math because I realized how BAD I was! I figured it was hopeless continuing because it was just pure frustration.

This book is good if you're really at the head scratching level (like I was), but it doesn't cover everything you need to know for the exam (it totally ignores probability and statistics for example - which is very important to know for the exam). The big plus with this book is that they give you basic 101 practice problems just to test your knowledge of a concept that was just explained. GMAT books like Barrons illustrate a concept, give you 1 easy and 1 difficult problem, show you how to solve, then you're on your own until the practice exams. The approach here is much more like a genuine math textbook.

Use this as a supplement and source of practice, but definitely get more than this. I did like Barrons math review overall, that was a help. Princeton's was really a joke, more like "here's some basic stuff, and then just guess the rest".

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't use this book!
I got this book from my local library (thank goodness I didn't spend money on it), because I took a practice GMAT test and scored lower than I had hoped I would on the math section.I worked through this whole book before taking a second practice test, and my composite score only increased by 10 points. This book is filled with errors, typos, and flat-out inaccurate information about math.As an example, on page 166 under "Roots Revisited" the book incorrectly (or, rather, incompletely) tells you how to solve roots:It completely ignores the option of a negative answer for an even root.(For example, the answer to the square root of 4 could be either 2 or -2, but the book only considers the positive answer 2.)I missed two questions on my second practice test because I incorrectly assumed that because this book did not address negative answers to square (and other even) roots, the GMAT would also not consider those negative answers. That was an incorrect assumption.I'm just glad I only used this book to prepare for a practice test, and was not trying to improve my score on an actual GMAT exam that I'd paid $250 to take.I don't want other people to depend on this book for GMAT math preparation because they are likely to be disappointed with the results.Don't make the same mistake(s) I did!Don't use this book! ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Good book. Errors even in the new edition.
I'm really getting tired of Mosby/Elsevier/Evolve and their ERRORS in the textbooks they put out. The older version of this book had mistakes in it (problems worked out incorrectly, or answers in the back that were incorrect), and this version has errors, too. It's a well-organized book with good pictures and lots of practice, so I give it 5 stars for that. However, it's extraordinarily frustrating when you're learning math to follow along an example and then realize that the answer they got was wrong. Or when you're checking your own work and the answer in the back of the book is wrong. Please, publishers, PROOFREAD. There's no excuse for mistakes in a book this expensive.

5-0 out of 5 stars Math
I really enjoyed this book.It helped me with the math tests I had to take. The problems were easy to understand.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great item

4-0 out of 5 stars book in good condition

4-0 out of 5 stars good source for nursing math

A liitle annoying that the answer key is on CD because I am not always near a computer when I am going through the workbook. ... Read more
