After immigrating from the Yorkshire, England area my Lister family ancestors settled in Somerset County. Maryland on the Delmarva Peninsula. Thomas Lister married Abigail London in the late 1600's. She was the daughter of Ambrose London. Ambrose London's family is one of the thirty four featured families in this reference source.
One of Thomas and Abigail Lister's children was William Lister Senior. He had a son named William Lister Junior who married Ann Sorden before 1765. She was the daughter of Thomas and Mary Sorden. William Lister Junior and Ann Sorden had a son named Sorden Lister. He was born in 1793 and died in December of 1812. They also had a son named Levi (Levin?) Lister who died in 1817. They also had a son named Peter Lister. They also had a son named Joshua Lister who died in 1819 near Odessa, Delaware in New Castle County. Joshua Lister (who married Nancy Hartshorne) was my great-great-great-great-great grandfather. Joshua Lister was the original creator of the Lister family that resides in Caroline County, Maryland and Queen Anne's County, Maryland and Talbot County, Maryland. Almost all individuals who have resided in these three counties since prior to the Revolutionary War of 1776 are biological members of the same Lister family. There have only been a very few exceptions to this general Lister genealogical rule. William Lister Junior and Ann Sorden also had a child named Alcey (Alsey?) Lister.
