Amazing book and inspiring lyrics
Our daughter loves this book and CD.She sings it beautifully and has learned the value of God always being by her side.When a classmate was sick in the hospital, she gave her this book to comfort her so we ordered another one!!

Excellent Book
I purchased this book for my boys 2 and 4.They love it!They sing along with the song and love the pictures.The message the story brings to all readers/listeners is wonderful.I would highly recommend it to anyone.

My kids absolutely love this book.They like to take turns "reading" it with the cd.Beautiful music, illustrations, and message.I love that the music continues for a while after the story is read.Perfect when you want to mellow the kids down.

This is a short children's story about how God is with us any time we call upon Him.Some of the writing comes directly from the Psalms (i.e. Make my heart your own) and can be a good way to introduce children to the Bible by locating the same passage.

The authors emphasizes continuously throughout the book that God cares about all the details of our life including the most minor things you do and say each day. This book made me want to cry, and then pray for change
Paul Alexander's book "Peace to War" is a devastating indictment on the growing militarism in the Assemblies of God denomination.In the book, Alexander meticulously details the pacifism of the early pentecostals and how the first few decades of the Assemblies ofGod's existence was marked by a belief in conscientious objection to war as the ideal.

Perhaps the most soul-stirring section of the book is when Alexander describes the suffering that many of the early pentecostal conscientious objectors faced under Woodrow Wilson's repressive tactics that are absolutely incompatible with modern notions of democratic ideals.The length that Wilson went to silence pacifist voices is truly shocking by today's standards.

Perhaps the greatest lesson in the book that I took away is how easy it is for an officially pacifist denomination to do an entire 180 over such a short period of time.For this reason, I think that "Peace to War" should be read by every single Mennonite, Quaker, or Church of the Brethren member.Alexander lays out exactly how the original peace witness was lost.Without giving too much away, I'd like to point outtwo culprits that eventually became the death knell of pacifism in the Assemblies ofGod, "conscience clause" and "army chaplaincy program."

A Must Read for All Assemblies of God Leaders
I would venture to say that if John Wesley were to preach in most Methodist churches today, he would be thrown out.If John Calvin were to preach in most Presbyterian churches, the same would happen.Ditto with Roger Williams in most Southern Baptist churches.

Would the same true to early pentecostal leaders?Absolutely, particularly on this issue.

Give any religious movement enough time (often no more than 100 years), and it often becomes the opposite of what it was founded to be.One can attribute this to what C.S. Lewis called "chronological arrogance," or other sociological phenomena (I grew up in the Assemblies of God being taught how to mock the 'C.A. Chorus').

It is my belief that the Assemblies of God has sold its birthright (Zech 4:6), and Paul Alexander chronicles exactly how that happened.I believe we traded our prayer/spiritual warfare weapons in for weapons of physical warfare and nationalistic idolatry.We traded our understanding of the spiritual dimensions of the New Covenant for 'Old Testament Christianity' (which is really an oxymoron).

If Donald Gee, Frank Bartleman and others were alive today, they would be shocked and ashamed at what the Azusa Street revival has produced in America. Bartleman would probably be quite blunt and might even charge us with apostasy.

I know Paul Alexander and count him as a dear brother, though I may not agree on what he believes is the remedy to the status quo (that is not included in this book--the book is almost purely history, including some very interesting contemporary history).I believe the answer is a reunderstanding of what 'our weapons' truly are (2 Cor. 10:4).

Please read this book to understand what has happened to us in the past 100 years.You may need to be prepared to repent.We don't hold a candle to the moral courage and spiritual commitment of those early pentecostals, including being willing to be imprisoned for their commitment to fight God's way, not man's.God help us. ... Fire of His Holiness Review
Amazing book. It captures the mandate from God to be Holy before Him in all we do, to burn for purity. I read this book in 2 nights and could barely put it down! I know that the author of this book lives what he writes in this book. Great for anyone seeking to be a carrier of the Fire of God!

A Book for Today!
This book is a must for Christian living.Holiness is a Spirit that we either embrace or reject.The decision is ours. This book is preparation reading for entering into the Presence of God.Seek his unconditional love. We make a decision to either choose "holiness" or reject "holiness".God is Holy. The choice is ours.

Fervent Call for Action
At the heart of this book is a call to live a pure life before God. The author addresses the subject with a spirit of conviction, not condemnation. He emphasizes the need for God to do the work in a person. He contrasts that with self-effort which could result in pride.

Using the Canaanite woman from Matthew 15, a Gentile seeking a miracle from Jesus who had her faith tested, he says three elements are needed to receive from God in such a time of testing: faith, perseverance and humilty. He points out that although the woman seemed to initially be turned away she did not become offended and leave. She maintained a proper attitude, humbled herself and continued to ask.

Scataglini defines "religiosity" as an unclean spirit that "binds people with empty routines" (p. 173). He describes how God used him in a situation to break that spirit.

The need for persistence is illustrated in the beginning of the book as well when he describes opposition to acquiring facilities for a revival in Argentina. "We have to keep insisting; they said no, but the Lord said 'yes'" (p. 45).

He emphasizes that it is by seeking God that the pure mind is obtained and maintained as one spends time in God's presence. Diligent prayer gets results.

Convicting
If this book does not change your walk with God and look at SIN and how God sees it, then I am not sure what else will.God does require COMPLETE holiness...Unfortunately, the Church has taught that Grace is enough to cover our continual, non-repentant sin.Huh??? No wonder Christianity is confusing and not fulfilling to so many.The life that God intended for each of us and the lives we actually LIVE are completely opposed to eachother.This will convict and change you...Thank you Sergio!
