True wisdom for all times!
This book gives you true insight into the fundamental steps of pure and true wisdom, through devotion, ritual and meditation.It serves as a road map to wisdom by citing texts, pictures or hieroglyphics from papyri, temples, and coffins to support this work.

The extrapolations of Sage Ptah Hotep's teachings to the young prince made it clear and hopeful that these teachings can and should be used today for all of our benefits. They are timeless and precious.

Many times I felt Sehu Khepera's words imprint in my heart and mind.I feel gratefulness and hopefulness that through this work we can help to find our Divine Self and encourage others in our life's journey.

African Spirituality
Sehu Khepera has done a tremendous job on explaining the inner most esoteric teachings of the goddess Auset. In this text, he explains the deeper meaning of wisdom as a profound introspection of the self, and not just an outward, intellectual attribute. He explains that this introspection leads to deeper meditation, and the ultimate discovery of true reality through this process.

I do feel however, that this is not a text to be read by novices. It is an advanced reading, and should be read by students that have had a study of his previous works, as well as Muata Ashby's works, and the deeper readings of other traditional indigenous spiritual belief systems.

Also, the reader should realize that "liberation" as taught from this perspective, can be a life long process, thus the reader should not expect to necessarily be "liberated" just from this or any other study. BLACK PEOPLE WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was a little freaked out at the tittle and nature of the book since I'm a bit of an homo-phobe, but purchased the book judging by the reviews. I must say this book is a page turner. This isn't a bunch of militant ramblings, but facts and a detailed account of the hype that has plagued the black community throughout history since coming into contact with whites. I figured that homosexuality was nothing new as far as with white people. I just thought is was the new sha-bang when it came to blacks since many blacks copy cat whatever happenings that are going on in the white or mainstream communities/culture. The illustrations are very well done and are cohesive to the chapters. It is written in a way that an college professor, college student, and high school dropout would be able to comprehend. I am looking forward to cheking out the other books and dvds they sell as well. I was very impressed and suprised that this book didn't sell for more. Great job war on the horizon!!!

Homosexuality in the Black Community
Hotep,I'm halfway through this book.I know brothers from PKV and am generally a regular attendee at their lectures in the D.C. area.I believe that this work is very crticial.As I watch the DVD's its becoming more crystal clear that this has an inordinate effect on our race and culture.Why have traditional black leaders have not looked into this menace.I've learned this weekend that a Pedophile has infiltrated a Rites of Passage program.If we think that these HOMO/BI/Pedophiles which are the SAME are not destroying our community then we have to wake up.I would like to know though how can the so called Christian right think that this is not a part of European Culture when everything that they believe in at the highest levels that is the highest goal?From a political position I'm tying to understand why so called Democrats are seen as the party that supports Gay rights and while Republicans do not, i.e. appearingly?The new website is up on this book.Check it out!!

Straight Talk
War on the Horizon is the most compelling and currently relevant book I've read in 2007. The detriments that homosexuality has on our community are being covered and shown through smoky lenses. This book is the "20/20 vision" to help you see the system clearly. This book should be past down for generations.

I started reading this book this morning; I finished it this evening - this book kept me locked in position.Now that I am finished, I can only imagine how many Black people don't have clue that our culture... our very peoplehood is being wipeout by homosexuality and other tools of racism white supremacy.The Irritated Genie has done a phenomenal job researching the origins of homosexuality and explaining its impact on Black people. The Cosmic Mind by Khepera Ankh: A Review
Divine Ruler Equality Allah

Khepera Ankh of the newly found Kemetic Yoga Association has produced a sincere and focused work called The Cosmic Mind: The Philosophy of the Seven Ancient Egyptian Mysteries of the Mind and Enlightenment. The author is a student of Sebai Ma'a aka Muata Ashby founder of Sema Institute and author of seminal work Egyptian Yoga the Philosophy of Enlightment. This work attempts to show directly through instances of classical Nile Valley Culture and the suppositions of classical Hellenistic Hermeticism how the Nile Valley Culture is the direct progenitor of the later Hermeticism, not just through mythological comparison, but through actual transmission of tenets of the culture. It also attempts to illustrate how principles of Hermeticism in it's more ancient narrative can be used to improve the mental well being of the sincere aspirant. This comparison was touched on before by such seminal authors as George G James in Stolen Legacy, but is more exhaustively explored in Ankh's book, in addition to incorporating a universalist form of Yoga or Sema perspective on the Nile Valley Philosophy itself.

Like other philosophers, Ankh identifies the Hermes Thrice Great figure of Hermeticism, Hermeticae, Kybalion and other literature, with the Neter/Netcher Djehuty of Nile/Hapy Valley Culture. He goes through the seven universally recognized key tenets of Hermeticism, namely 1. Mentalism 2. Correspondence 3. Vibration 4. Polarity 5 Rhythm 6. Cause and Effect and 7. Gender.

1. Mentalism - All is mind. Ankh identifies the mental with Djehuty , Aah, "The Moon" and identifies "transcendent spirit" with Nebedjer, Aton/Aten, the "Divine Mind". He motivates this identification by noting that in the classical portrayals Djehuty reflects Aton/Ra/Nebedjer as the Dual Eyes of Heru, which corresponds to his position of mental reflects "transcendent spirit". This is paralleled to an expression of Atonism which proclaims that all forms of elements and forces are unified in the singular existence of a ubiquitous Aton existence.

2. Correspondence - As above so below but the Ankh puts forth that the world is an "illusion" but "real"???? This is modeled of the Maya perspective of the world from classical Indian Thought and shown as a consequence of the above Atonism perspective.

3. Vibration - Shai (Destiny) and Renenet (Fortune) can be modified by increased "vibration" or focus on higher ideals / energies. - "Men and women are immortal gods and goddesses and gods and goddesses are mortal men and women" I'm not sure if that quote is phrased correctly or if it is supposed to be phrased "Men and women are mortal gods and goddesses and gods and goddesses are immortal men and women", but essentially the message expressed is the idea that men and women are one with Nature, Elements and Forces, and become a force of Change in the world like the Elements. Based on this, Ankh concludes that transmutation and vibration to high enough thoughts leads to conversion of the "mental" to what is identifies as the more subtle "spiritual".

4. Polarity - The author uses the absolute value scale "temperature" (which in classical thermodynamics has no "negative" or "oppositive" values) instead of something like Charge or Magnetic Polarity that has positive and negative quantities, to illustrate polarity. This probably wont go over to well with more traditional perspectives of the Polarity tenet of Hermeticism, however Khepera Ankh does illustrate MOVEMENT based on absolute scale differences in the scheme, which is related to the motivations of aspirants of Hermetic Thought and similar philosophical pursuits.

5. Rhythm - everything is cyclical but Ankh illustrates how not to get caught up in the EBS and CRESTS of the rhythm.

6. Cause and Effect - The author summarizes that Ma'at (Truth, Righteousness, Balance) causes harmony, lack of Ma'at causes disharmony.

7. Gender - Ankh tries to illustrate the perception of differences of gender is only an abstraction of thought but, the dynamic relationships between perceived genders such as giving and reception produces motivation. Also the author advocates aspirants develop a internal dual gender dynamic to accomplish goals.

Concerns:

Khepera Ankh is an advocate of a medium called "spirit" of which "mind" or "mentality" is a congealing of this so called "transcendent spirit" medium. I as a hard core scientist and sceptic do not personally see how he SUBSTANTIATES the existence of this so called "other worldly" spirit medium. However, I do have an appreciation for the author showings examples of behavior that demonstrate a mindset focused on Elemental Ideas, Thoughts and Principles in contrast to a mindset focused on Gross, Over Materialistic and Over Sensory thinking.

Khepera Ankh advocates reincarnation called "umet ankh" but at the same time says reincarnation is not necessarily "positive" and that having children "not necessarily positive or necessary". As a result, he is an advocate is Celibacy.

"A low law is that you must procreate, this is a law of nature; you must have children and have intercourse with someone. The end result of intensive sexual interaction between two people, is that some form of disrespct and hatred develops within the relationship. This is a law of nature. So spiritual aspirants can supplant that lower law by practicing a higher law, which is celibacy. This is a law that trancends nature. Sexuality is a low law. A hgher law is that you become celibate and escape the pains of the law of procreation. However, this inot something that one can force on oneself; there must be a deeper yearning within the heart to relieve oneself from the pains and suffering of sensual pleasure"

OUCH! That's not going to go over to well with most Black People, and most Africentric, Black Centered and Ethnic Centered philosophers and writers, and is more in lines with the hard core ascetic traditions of radical Indian Yoga.

Overall, this is a well written book with bountiful illustrations, quotes and artifacts from the Nile Valley Culture, and other supporting information to motivate his arguments. The narrative examples he uses are not too weighed down with verbiage. Also the author references other strains of thought from his growing list of books. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a more serious student of Hermeticism and Yoga philosophy.
