For those who haven't read the book, O'Brien's story is one of a survivor of a CIA-sponsored program called MK Ultra, which aimed to explore the limits of human "suggestibility." The program began following World War II, when numerous top Nazi scientists resettled in the United States, at the invitation of the CIA, to continue their research into mind control. The project was based upon the research finding that if a person is severely traumatized, he or she will "split" off a "multiple personality" as a defense mechanism. It was those "multiples" that CIA scientists sought (successfully) to "program." Today thousand of people exist as mind-controlled slaves whose "programs" for various activities, such as performance in pornography films, prostitution, message carrying, and drug "muling," can be "accessed" by their "controllers" by cryptic keywords. A reader curious about O'Brien's book should be forewarned of the exceptionally bizarre nature of its revelations. In fact, at least in my view, the revelations are so bizarre, it would probably be a bad move to read this book without first reading something that "builds" up to it. A good primer on the subject would be John Decamp's _The Franklin Cover-Up_. Those who do read the book and are of sufficient independent thought to see through the haze of disinformation put forward every day by the state-influenced newspapers and magazines and see the truth in O'Brien's book are placed in a difficult position. They're in possession of extremely rare knowledge, and, futhermore, extremely bleak knowledge. For the picture painted by O'Brien, unfortunately, is nearly without hope. I am not a religious person, and I have always been both mildly amused and mildly offended by the stories of organized religion. But this is, I must admit, a book that can change such a person as me, for after reading _Tranceformation of America_, I'm left asking an unanswerable question. Where did all this wickedness come from?
I am pretty sure Bill Clinton is a mind control victim. According to one of the Arkansas state troopers he would just glance an article filled with small characters and recite in verbatim. This is photographical memory endowed to who has Multiple Personality Disorder with relatively high degree of intelligence, just like Cathy O'Brien. Her description of her photographic memory is of course written in this book. For the update, I think these illuminatis - cabal - whatever you want to call, got a hold on Mark Phillips and in turn brain washed him and made him new handler of Cathy O'Brien. For this detail, do your research on the internet. ... Read more Subjects: 1. Controversial Knowledge 2. New Age / Parapsychology 3. Politics/International Relations 4. Satanism   | |

Editorial Review One might expect The Satanic Bible at least to offer a few prancing demons or a virgin sacrifice, but if you hopped this train expecting a tour of the house of horrors, you're on the wrong ride. Far from a manual for conquering the realms of earth, air, fire, and water, The Satanic Bible is Anton LaVey's manifesto of a new religion separate from the "traditional" Judeo-Christian definitions of Satanism. While LaVey rails against the deceit of the Christian church and white magicians, he busily weaves his own deceptions. The Satanic Bible claims the heritage of a horde of evil deities--Bile', Dagon, Moloch, and Yao Tzin to name a few--but these ancient gods have no coherent connection between each other or to Satanism, except that all have been categorized by Christianity as "evil." Calling on these ancient names like a magician shouting, "Abracadabra," LaVey attempts to shatter the classical depiction of Satanism as a cult of black mass and child sacrifice. As the smoke clears, he leads us through a surprisingly logical argument in favor of a life focused on self-indulgence. The Satanic Bible is less bible and more philosophy (with a few rituals thrown in to keep us entertained), but this philosophy is the backbone of a religion that, until LaVey entered the scene, was merely a myth of the Christian church. It took LaVey, and The Satanic Bible, to turn this myth into a legitimate public religion.--Brian Patterson

1. It surprised me with it's lack of hype or madness; 2. I could almost believe, with some grammatical variation, that I had written it myself. This book made me aware that I was not "the only one who felt this way". High Priest Anton Szandor LaVey has here written a text that agrees with my own nature. I was actually in the process of cleansing the ridiculous bonds of ignorant additions from the Magical Arts when I finally read what I had previously assumed to be a fraudulent, hyped up jest. My only motivation for reading the Satanic Bible initially was purely amusement. I was both surprised and exultant to find that this work was expressing my own feelings and goals. In addition, I was surprised to find it had been written (just) before I was born! This is a text that details True Magic and Natural Religion. To authentic Witches and Warlocks it conveys that feeling of "coming home". My only regret is that I shall never meet the author personally. If Magic is what you seek - buy this book.
This book isn't talking about hating deity or being the Antichrist or any kind of dross like that. Shock of shocks--this is a book of PHILOSOPHY. Whether LaVey himself originally conceived of these ideas or not is unimportant; he did write them down so that you and I could use our own minds to read, ponder, and draw our own conclusions. Here's my tip, folks. LaVey has five Satanic tomes to his credit. Most people begin with the Satanic Bible, but I think this is a mistake. If you are just beginning to explore LaVey's world, read the Devil's Notebook or Satan Speaks! before attempting this one. I say this because the other books are examples of philosophy in action, and the Satanic Bible might be clearer for a reader with this background. And if you get easily offended at the word "Satanic", remember there are plenty of people around who would get offended by the word "Bible".

Lastly, I just want to say the devil is a liar, and I agree with someones review before mine when they said God (the Holy Spirit) will let you know if what you're reading is false just like when you're listening to a false preacher, and you say to yourself, he is not speaking the word. This author speaks the word in her book in a loving and Godlike manner showing you she is just trying to save and inform the world (like she did the witch in this book). There is an anointing on this literature.

Yes, I confirmed that Dr. Rebecca Brown is right because I experienced with "my ministry" into someone (my friend) that had possessed with evil spirits! I finally resolved the problems with her a week later. Without reading my books, I can't resolve the same problems successfully. Praise the Lord! Also, I confirmed that Dr. Rebecca Brown is right about recent UFO sightings in secular media and my child nightmares as demonic manifestations. When I was a kid, I frequently experiecned nasty nightmares when I tried to sleep in the dark room. I can't sleep with turned off lights. With my testimony about three of my terrible nightmares.. When I started to have a dream, I am washing myself in my tub... I saw the cartoon-like purple lungs crawled across the wall out of the edge of wall. The dream ended. I woke up and was so afraid. Another one: I started to have a dream... I saw the lit-up cartoon-like ceral box with a picture of Robin Hood crawaled on the ceiling out of the edge of the room. The dream ended, I woke up and was so afraid. Last one: My dream started... I saw the some buildings and clear sunny sky.. Then I saw the millions of skeletons marched over the open field around the buildings. The dream ended... Etc.. Yes, I have so many terrible nightmares when I was a kid... My parents did not understand what I explained about them but they told me just a dream. So sad. :-( I do not know that until I read this book. I was so shocked to find out about child doorways (terrible nightmares). I still am seeking for the complete deliverance from Satan's strongholds through my prayer. In Christ, Tim Stark

The book centers around Torey, the author, a special ed teacher and her new class. One of the children, Jadie, is an elective mute something that Torey by coincidence specializes in. After Jadie is convinced to begin speaking to Torey, the child begins to act strangely and divulge even stranger things. Her world is deep and very, very dark , indicating abuse of some kind. Torey also gives insight into the problems of the other classmates. Their plights are deeply touching. We are lucky to have teachers like Torey in the world. People who are so drawn to helping children.

Alright, this is deffinatly a great read! I totally, TOTALLY loved the Diabolica, Duck-Billed Platitudes, and How to Be a God! They are all very entertaining and humorous (though I'm not sure whether or not they're supposed to be). Also, the whole book is pretty motivational for that little screaming, raving satanist in all of us. That's about all there is to say about it. I mean, honestly, at only 147 pages, it's not a huge chunk of reading. I read it over one weekend. Not great, but not bad - not by any means bad - hence three stars.

It is important to know that none of us are perfect and everyone has error in their lives. The websites that have stated she was a witch...well she is not. Anyone who questions the truthfulness of her words can just go to G-d in prayer and ask Him. G-d will tell you. That's what I did...and I find her legitment. Test the spirit. Anyway this is an excellent book for Christians and for those who wish to get out of the occult. Get your hand on this book and you find yourself soul searching.
This book includes an in-depth study of quite a number of personal 'case histories' of both Christians and Satanists ALL being delivered from satanic/demonic oppression and onslaughts of varying natures and degrees. Rebecca Brown provides a wealth of information on deliverance and the approaches necessary in the various aspects of spiritual warfare. The deceitfulness behind and throughout satanic/demonic attacks and their variety of origins are dealt with in some detail. In every case the way out is also clearly portrayed so that no-one is left without a solution to their own particular situation. Satanism, in it's vast number of forms, is a vast problem, way beyond anything portrayed in the press, media or preached from many Christian pulpits. Ignorance in the Christian theatre of this major enemy, is one of the largest weaknesses in today's Church. Rebecca Brown illustrates that in a Las Vegas police conference in February 1986, the police estimated that between 40,000 and 60,000 ritual homicides (human sacrifices) had been committed that year in the USA alone. The situation has worsened considerably since then. The scale of the problem is awesome, but the Deliverer and His Message still prevails and is here for all to see. I have read many books by other authors on this subject but Rebecca Brown provides much information not provided elsewhere. This is a highly, highly recommended, Biblically based, book packed to the brim with priceless information. ... Read more Subjects: 1. Christian life 2. Christianity - Christian Life - General 3. A collection of short essays, "Satan Speaks!" varies in quality. Some of the selections strike me as underdeveloped, self-indulgent rants: I refer particularly to "Child Abuse," "Some Professionals and a Poem," and others. But even some of these grouchy tirades have appealing flashes of dark humor; try "Don't Bathe," LaVey's celebration of body odor. And the best of these essays range from delightful exercises in creative misanthropy to truly thought-provoking analyses of popular culture. LaVey speculates on the connections between the Jew and the Satanist in "A Plan," discusses the potential of "The Witch's Shoe as Weaponry" in the essay of that title, and issues a fascinating manifesto for Satanic cultural activism in "The Horns of a Dilemma." And throughout the book one can find marvelously quotable aphorisms from the man known as the Black Pope. Examples: "Is it coincidence that the most important word to a Satanist is 'Why?'" (from "The Third Side"); "Did Charlie Chaplin have a Hitler moustache, or vice versa?" (from "The Jewish Question"); or "Don't bomb abortion clinics unless you happen to need one, and they won't take you" (from "My Enemy"). "Traditional" religionists and other more "proper" folk may cringe at LaVey's writings, but to the adventurous reader, "Satan Speaks!" is a deliciously stocked candy store. Was this truly LaVey's final testament, or are there hidden demonic manuscripts of his waiting to be unleashed upon a trembling world? Stay tuned!

The text shows that a variety of source of inspiration can be used for ritual practice. LaVey takes inspiration from the French DeMolay of the Knights Templar, the Russian peasant legends, even the fiction of H.G.Wells and H.P.Lovecraft. The book is roughly a cookbook, with some ideas for rituals and trappings that the author thinks are nice. You can slavishly follow the book, refusing to deviate one iota from the letter of the law, or you can become a true gourmet and allow the writings to inspire your own masterpieces.
The _SB_ contained three elementary *operative* Black Magical workings, but none of the *illustrative* type that Anton LaVey felt equally significant. Illustrative rituals possess no independent power; they are "mind mirrors", enabling the magician to see his will articulated and displayed before him, so that he may adjust and refine it. In his introductory essay "Concerning the Rituals", Anton further differentiates rituals and ceremonies: A *ritual* affects the practitioner; i.e. it executes a "mind mirror" function. A *ceremony*, on the other hand, is merely a pageant or a play for psychodramatic illustration of a favored belief or philosophy. The _SR_ is a book in three "layers". The first is that of *literal truth*, which the book purports to be. The second is that of *deception*, which much of the book actually is. The third layer is that of *underlying magical instruction*, which transcends mundane conventions of truth and falsehood. A person who applies the principles in the book by actually performing the rituals and ceremonies will discover that they *work*. Should he discover the factual flaws in the essays and texts, he will be somewhat confused as to *why* they work. Only then will he begin to realize the truth underlying the art and science of magic: that the powers to create and to define are *functions of the will*. Thus he reaches the _SR_'s third and final layer. The series of rituals begins with the traditional Black Mass, said to derive from 19th century France's Society of Lucifer. Actually it is a "censored" version of the _Missa Solemnis_ composed by Priest Wayne West (cf. my _Church of Satan_), which in turn drew heavily from J.K. Huysmans' _La-Bas_, the famous classic of French Satanism. Anton states that the original Knights Templar developed the "Stifling Air" after their 13th century visit to the Yezidis. There is no evidence of such visit, nor does "SA" reflect actual Yezidi theology. He then suggests that the "Stifling Air", as a 6th Degree of the Knights Templar, is designed to follow a rite of the Ancient Arabic Order, Nobles of the Mystic Shrine wherein they travel beyond the "Devil's Pass". In the actual AAONMS ritual text, however, the candidate does *not* enter the pass. "SA" defaults to Anton's own creation, adapted from Raynouard's 1806 drama _Les Templiers_ and James Thomson's 1880 poem _The City of Dreadful Night_. "Das Tierdrama", again a variation of the original Church of Satan version (_COS_), is adapted exclusively from H.G. Wells' _The Island of Dr. Moreau_. "Die Elektrischen Vorspiele"'s theme of the "Hounds of Tindalos" derives from Frank Belknap Long's famous 1929 story. It has no Nazi-SS ancestry at all. "The Homage to Tchort" is supposedly from Russian mythology. But the Khlysty sect was scarcely Satanic in doctrine; its adherents practiced fasting and self-scourging to drive out devils of the flesh, which unsurprisingly evolved into wild sexual orgies. Confusion over "Melek Taus" arose from the secrecy of the Yezidis' two sacred books, and persists in _SR_, which interchanges their names. The _al-Jalwa_ is properly translated as _The Book of the Revelation_, while it is the *other* Yezidi book - _Mashaf-a Resh_ - that is entitled _The Black Scripture_ (cf. _COS_). The most blasphemous second-layer deception in _SR_ consisted of my own introductory essay on H.P. Lovecraft, my "Ceremony of the Nine Angles", and my "Call to Cthulhu" (cf. _COS_). In 1971 Anton visited me at the U.S. Army Armor School at Fort Knox, insisting that the _SR_ would just not be complete without them. The two Satanic Baptismal ceremonies - one for adult Satanists and the other for children who were not actually members of the Church - were both original to the Church of Satan. (I authored the Oath contained in the adult Baptism.) "The Unknown Known" touches obliquely on Hans Hoerbiger's _Welteislehre_, or Doctrine of Eternal Ice, in which the history of the universe consists of alternating cycles of fire and ice. The "Wel" gained popularity in Nazi Germany because of Adolf Hitler's enthusiasm for Hoerbiger, whom he called "the German Copernicus". Anton, however, creatively interprets the theory in a social, not a cosmological context. Anton concluded the original dedication page with my name, immediately preceding it with that of my Army boss at the time, Brigadier General George S. Patton III. And I'll leave that a "final mystery" of this exotic, fearsome, and dangerous little book! ... Read more Subjects: 1. New Age / Parapsychology 2. Occultism 3. Reference 4. Religion 5. While this is based on the Catholic Church it is an excellenct murder mystery. Perhaps we are seeing the debut of a new Chesterton. I found myself underling the factoids and some of the better lines in this book. This is something I have never done with another novel. "The Endless Knot" is quite hilarious, informative and suspenseful all at the same time. I can't recommend this book too highly. A superb first novel. You won't read it just once. "Lucifer Rising" is immaculately reseached, well written and enjoyable. Most other books on this subject pale drastically in comparison. I am a Luciferian. I tend to be a very harsh critic when it comes to works that deal with Satanism and "Devil worship" (for lack of a better term). I can say unafraid that this book is tops on the list of books concerning the Left-hand path that have been made within the last 30 years. The simplified versions of each of the grimores is quite enlightening as to the framework of "christianized" evocation. I personally do not use such rituals to evoke entities. I see is as hypocritical to invoke the names of the Christian god to summon a compleatly different entity. I would normally hold this against the authors, however, they make their understanding of Satanism quite apparent throughout the rest of the work. The testimonies of Jason Black's own experiences are quite helpful to the practicioner of any system. I recommend this book to any serious magickian. Ave,

The book presents Mr. LaVey's lessons for witches. He discusses his concept of men and women's physical, mental, and emotional characteristics. He discusses how his witches project a selected sexual image using cosmetics, body language, fashion, sexual ploys, psychology, fortune telling, and ceremonial magic. He discusses how his witches control the news media. Mr. LaVey's book is both humorous and sad. Mr. LaVey's instructions for manipulating men are absurdly stereotypical. But once Ones realize that Mr. LaVey's lessons are totally serious and that Mr. LaVey apparently *has* trained many women, Mr. LaVey's opinion and use of women saddens Ones. Mr. LaVey's witches resemble veneered furniture: their finish only is skin deep. This book, which provides a window into Mr. LaVey's personality and life, is a mixed blessing. Keep your ice open.
