Product Description
The Saga of Nova Septima, the first installment of a new trilogy by Linda Williams, follows in the footsteps of many great classics of the fantasy genre. From The Well at the World?s End by William Morris over a century ago, to the spellbinding classics of C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien,Ursula Le Guin, George R. Martin, J.K. Rowling, and now Linda Williams, the literary landscape of the fantasy has served as a magnet for the imagination inspired longing within all of us.It attracts us, calling us forth upon an heroic quest whereby we can hope to be magically transformed and restored to the tranquility and order which lie at the very center of every human soul.In that sense the world of fantasy is the world of myth still among us, updated by centuries of narrative tradition and the marvels of modern science. George Bernard Shaw, a great playwright of the last century, once suggested that immature artists are those who are merely influenced by their predecessors, whereas it is the sure mark of the mature artist to be able to selectively steal from the riches of the past.Linda Williams isa great literary artist of this century who aptly balances novelty with tradition in creating a story that will delight both the young and the young at heart alike. Join Asha and her band of young companions, which also includes a delightful dog named Nog and a marvelous mule named Heggo, as they make their way from their home in Teletsos to a far off land in the north. This is where salvation lies, both for themselves and their world. On their way to their ultimate destination they encounter many marvels and must overcome many hardships.Their battle however is more than just an epic struggle between Davidic youth and goodness and the ancient evil of a Goliath who would prey upon all weakness in its unrelenting pursuit of power. As in all good fantasy stories victory must be accompanied by mastery over the self within as well as the enemy without.Through all sorts of fa ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Trying to save their world from evil, they save themselves
This is a fascinating story of a travel undertaken by seven children in order to save their native Teletsia. A journey of epic proportions in which even the youngest of the seven discover hidden heroic - and humane - qualities they did not know they possessed. It is an inspiring story which stays with you months and years after you've finished it. Hard to put aside, when finishing reading it, one has the feeling of loss usually associated with having to leave trusted and loved friends. The adventures of the seven kids somehow engulf every day reality, lending it a deeper meaning and even a sense of enjoyment despite adversities. Linda Williams' book resembles Gregoire de Kalbermatten's "The Legend of Dagad Trikon" in that they both feature a revival of heroic tales (not unlike J.K.Rowlings's Harry Potter Series), and center around a collective hero - in which the virtues of feminine intuition and wisdom play a significant part.

5-0 out of 5 stars Watch out for the love & peace inside yourself
Inside this great book I found a wonderful love story. Of the higher love. And I love love stories ! :-)
First you have to find love inside yourself. Love has to flood your heart, so that all other emotions are swept out. If your love is conquering (isn't that a contradiction?) all your fears only then you'll be able to love someone else. And the love has to flood the heart of your beloved, to remove all fears inside. So, the best you can achieve in your life is freedom of your heart!
And it's such a thriller! And I love thrillers! it's breathtaking, and made me part of the adventure, and I felt a teenager again!
if your heart is pure you can even ride a tiger and will succeed against all obstacles in the chaos of your daily life. The inncocent tigers have a subtler instinct to avoid dangers, but the STORY offers a chance of training for the readers to achieve these instincts of innocence.
the text is only black and white, as are the drawings, but the narrator upgrades everything into true colours, believe me!
Read it, you'll love it! And it's also a perfect gift!
much love, toni, austria

5-0 out of 5 stars very good - exciting and entertaining, to be continued
This group of people, they have these strange adventures, but it is not something very unlikely to happen to one living in our world. There are many who will see their own portrait (or the next door's neighbour's somewhere in this book). And the basic journey the young people undertake happens to all of us. But what will happen after ? What can happen after Sasrar ?

5-0 out of 5 stars A Beautiful Story
I enjoyed The Keys of Wisdom. The story flows smoothly and the characters are easy to relate to.A wonderful story for children and the child in all of us.

5-0 out of 5 stars The keys of real joy!
I just finished readind this book one, and it gave me such a joy, swinging with the incredible beautiful lands described among breathless adventures. I just felt as a younger again. And finally a story that teaches people of all ages the principles of the truth in such an amusing way that no one can feel bored. And if you know the reality as the Lady the book is dedicated to teaches, you'll find that this story is rather about reality than about fantasy.
Just don't miss it! And just don't miss the experience of you own Tree of Life as the author suggests! ... Read more

Book Description
With chapters on apparitions and phantasms. The author presents his belief that spiritual beings can and do communicate with us and produce material effects in the world around us. Those who believe as he does must see in the steady advance of inquiry and of interest in questions of this nature, the assurance that those beliefs will not be accepted by all truth seeking inquirers. The author includes a section as an answer to the arguments of Hume, Lecky and others against miracles. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Rare Yet Important
These are a compendium of papers written at various times in Alfred Russell Wallace's career and cover some very interesting and important subjects which tells you a lot about Mr. Wallace's views on Spiritualism.Mr. Wallace is credited as being a co-discoverer of evolution along with Charles Darwin and has written several important books on travels on the Amazon River and the Malay Archepeligo and this book is often referred to but until now has not been made available to the general public. Thanks to the reprint publishers in Montana it is now available and fills in a lot of important data which explains the views of the co-discoverer of evolution. While it is rare and important, it is not over-long and is worthy of a good read.I highly recommend it.

5-0 out of 5 stars SCIENCE MEETS SPIRIT
Although Charles Darwin is the person always credited with developing the natural selection theory of evolution, history has it that Alfred Russel Wallace developed his own theory at the same time as Darwin was working on his.Wallace sent his theory to Darwin and when Darwin gave his presentation to the Linnaen Society in London during 1858, he also presented Wallace's parallel theory, from which came "the survival of the fittest."

At the time he was working on his theory of evolution,
Wallace was a complete materialist."I was so thorough and confirmed a materialist that I could not at that time find a
place in my mind for the conception of spiritual existence, or for any agencies in the universe than matter and force," he
writes in the preface.

Wallace came to believe in the reality of spirit
communication and became an ardent Spiritualist. Many mainstream scientists of the day scoffed, sneered, and snickered, but Wallace remained steadfast in his beliefs."I assert without fear of contradictionn that whenever the scientific men of any age have denied the facts of investigators on a priori grounds, they have always been wrong," he answered his critics.

Wallace gathers together the best evidence of the 19th Century and the testimony of esteemed scholars and scientists of that era who also investigated mediumship and spirit phenomena.

The words and wisdom of this book are as applicable today as they were 106 years ago.It makes one wonder why mainstream science has made so little progress in awakening to the Truths discovered by Wallace and others, suggesting perhaps that Truth is beyond absolute proof and that spiritual evolution requires constant seeking, searching, and striving.

To further quote Wallace:"My position, therefore, is that the phenomena of Spiritualism, in their entirety do not require further confirmationn. They are proved quite as well as any facts are proved in other sciences." ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Part 2 of the Findlay Trilogy - Christianity vs Spiritualism
'Truth, whether in or out of fashion, is the measure of Knowledge.Whatever is beside that, however authorised by consent, is nothing but ignorance or something worse.' - Locke.Findlay chose this quote carefully for the title page of a book which in 1933 was one of the first to present to the popular reading public a truthful, historical account of the rise of Christianity, and emphasize the difference between the historical Jesus (assuming he existed merely on the principle of cause and effect, there to this day not being a scrap of historical evidence he actually existed) and the biblical Jesus, as well as Jesus' original message versus the one put into his mouth over three centuries by early Christian scribes. These alterations, plainly evident when comparing early versions of the Gospels, reflect the changing (and clearly man-made and borrowed) Christian doctrine until the Council of Nicaea fixed these evolving scriptures in 325AD.To consider these man-made books to be the Word of God is possibly the greatest blasphemy against any Creator one could make, to be exceeded only by equating this Infinite Intelligence with the murderous, immoral Jehovah.

For those who doubt these results of decades of research by Findlay, consider that in September 1933 he published a challenge to all the Protestant clergymen in Great Britain and Ireland, 28630 of them, to expose any errors or misstatements in The Rock of Truth.A copy of the newspaper in which the challenge was published was personally mailed to every one!A footnote in The Unfolding Universe, which is the third book in the trilogy (the first having been On The Edge of The Etheric), states that no reply had been received after 15 years. That's simply because Findlay didn't make any of this stuff up.It all came from published works in Theology and Religious History that most Christians are completely unaware of, but which are old news to theologians and biblical scholars.

That is essentially part 1 of the book.Having disposed of Christianity, he sets about in part 2 explaining the precepts of Spiritualism, at least those that were promulgated before WWII.He emphasizes the need for a return to a world where behaviour is governed by ethics, those best expressed by Greek philosophers such as Plato, Socrates and Aristotle, whose wise words were all but obliterated by Christianity, but thank God, survived. He shows that a religion which promises salvation on the grounds of belief and not conduct is immoral and unethical, and guaranteed to lead to bloodshed. And, considering too the material in On The Edge Of The Etheric, his own personal 'field reports', he convinces that communications can and do take place between our physical world and the etheric. This is all material which Findlay later expanded on greatly in The Curse of Ignorance and other works, but this book represents his first real expose of it, and is recommended reading. 206 pages. ... 1910. The belief in intercourse with the spirits of the dead may be said to begin in modern times with Swedenborg. Prior to his time, indeed, alchemists and magicians believed themselves to have opened up communication with the world of spirits; but the entities with whom they came into contact were conceived of as creatures of the elements, or spiritual beings parasitic on mankind.
