5-0 out of 5 stars For the few.
It is important to realize this book is not for everyone, it does contain certain things that may empower your imagination and views on life but for most people it is quite harmless, to get to this book I recommend you have studied the ways of the Left Hand Path on your own before (there are other two books from the same author that may be most suited for beginners) or you risk yourself to misunderstanding what is being told to you in this book.

There is much information about the Temple of Set in the internet, some of it may be hidden for those who are just momentary curious but for those who are indeed interested there are hundreds and hundreds of pages of information regarding the Temple and it's practices, this book however contains the very basics (or core) of Setian philosphy (plus one).

There is another reviewer who says something about Michael Aquino (founder of the Temple) and his "fascination with Nazi leaders?" of this you shall know then that the Temple and this book is not for those who judge before knowing, if you want to know more about it I recommend the Masters of the Left Hand Path book by Dr. Stephen Flowers.

4-0 out of 5 stars Mildly Liberal Antinomianism
The Temple of Set fascinate me; Michael Aquino has an aura about him that is somewhat attractive, somewhat sinister. I definitely hold the philosophy of someone on the Left-Hand Path; but occasionally, I'm turned off by the Temple of Set's not-so-aristocratic approach to religion.
Good book, check it out.

5-0 out of 5 stars Mysteries? Ok Maybe.
Let start from negative to positive. I am not sure there were really any secrets told in the book , however it was still a very good read. The book gave this seeker some insight of what the Temple of Set may be like, which I guess would mean I did learned a few secrets.
I will say I really liked the book. It is written at a college level which made it a bit more difficult for this high school grad to understand at times, but I will probably read it again in a few years after I progress further in my magical life. Oh I did get the candles and wish Uncle Setnakt alot of prosperityLOL. I would read this book after one reads "Uncle Setnakt's Guide to the Left Hand Path". Which is what I did. Both good books for the seeker. Just buy it if your thinking about doing it you won't regret spending the few dollars.

5-0 out of 5 stars If your going
to read about a secret organisation. it's alwayS best to get info from thaT organisations leader. Don Webb was just that for awhile. I don't know a lot about the temple, it's controversial. But to study the Literature's important. This, besides former memberS aNd reasonable people, is the best one can get perhaps besides Uncle Setnakt's guide to the left hand path. The "Occult Experience" Movie gives a strange view. My moral self's in a dilemma. Fair movie? But then again, What OF Mr. AquinO's fascination with Nazi leaders? ... Read more

Book 4: Temple of the Winds
On the red moon will come the firestorm...

Wielding the Sword of Truth, Richard Rahl has battled death itself and come to the defense of the D'Haran people. But now the power-mad Emperor Jagang confronts Richard with a swift and inexorable foe: a mystical plague cutting a deadly swath across the land and slaying thousands of innocent victims.

To quench the inferno, he must seek remedy in the wind...

To fight it Richard and his beloved Kahlan Amnell will risk everything to uncover the source of the terrible plague-the magic sealed away for three millennia in the Temple of the Winds.

Lightning will find him on that path...

But when prophecy throws the shadow of betrayal across their mission and threatens to destroy them, Richard must accept the Truth and find a way to pay the price the winds demand...or he and his world will perish.

Book 5: Soul of the Fire
Sequel to the New York Times bestselling Temple of the Winds

Richard Rahl has traveled far from his roots as a simple woods guide. Emperor of the D'Haran Empire, war wizard, the Seeker of Truth--none of these roles mean as much to him as his newest: husband to his beloved Kahlan Amnell, Mother Confessor of the Midlands.

But their wedding day is the key that unlocks a spell sealed away long ago in a faraway country. Now a deadly power pours forth that threatens to turn the world into a lifeless waste.

dSeparated from the Sword of Truth and stripped of their magic, Richard and Kahlan must journey across the Midlands to discover a dark secret from the past and a trap that could tear them apart forever. For their fate has become inextricably entwined with that of the Midlands--and there's no place so dangerous as a world without magic...

Book 6: Faith of the Fallen
Sequel to the New York Times bestselling Soul of the Fire

Terry Goodkind author of the enormously popular Sword of Truth novels, has forged perhaps his best novel yet, pitting Richard Rahl and Kahlan Amnell against threats to the freedom of the world that will take them to opposite ends of the world to defeat the forces of chaos and anarchy.

Emperor Jagang is rising once again in the Old World and Richard must face him, on his own turf. Richard heads into the Old World with Cara, the Mord-Sith, while his beloved Kahlan remains behind. Unwilling to heed an ancient prophecy, Kahlan raises an army and goes into battle against forces threatening armed insurrection in the Midlands.

Separated and fighting for their lives, Richard and Kahlan will be tested to the utmost.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Sword of Truth Box Set, Books 4-6
I`m still reading the first one and can`t stop it. Can`t wait to see what is going to happen in the others 5 and 6 books. Looking forward to buy all the collection.

5-0 out of 5 stars Not a quick fix
This series of books is not for someone looking for a quick fix to catch up with the American television series. It's a rich, detailed journey with enough bumps and drags along the way to keep it's authentic feel running smoothly throughout.

If possible, I would have given it four and a half stars.Only because each book wraps up to such a declarative stopping point that it can be a bit jarring. However, you're always left wanting more and no book in the series has yet to disappoint.

Enjoy!

3-0 out of 5 stars Not a bad set of books... but not as good as first set
Okay so, you just finished book 3.You've had an intro to what all the rest of the books will be about. If you didn't mind the themes of rape, maltreatment, torture and kidnapping, then you'll probably do okay with the mutilation that is added to Temple of the Winds and on out through the series.Temple of the Winds is possibly the 3rd best book. There are websites that try to rank the books and you can find those. The constant separation of the two main characters gets annoying, as obviously the universe will end if they get to be together for more than a few minutes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sword of Truth Series
Excellent series for the serious readers who are willing to commit the time to a lot of reading. Terry Goodkind keeps you interested through the entire series and it doesn't get stale - always bringing in new and interesting characters and situations. He fills you in from time to time on past events so that if you just pick one book in the middle of the series to read without reading the prior books, you are not totally lost. You will miss out on a lot, but you can enjoy reading just one of the books if you can't commit to them all.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Sword of Truth Box Set
This author rocks...you will not be able to put these books down. Don't be intimated by the thick books...you will finish them in no time and will start the next one. Best books I've ever read. I introduced my teenage son to the first book (he never reads) and he could not put it down. A must read even if your not typically a fantasy book reader. ... Read more

Product Description
Reading meditations from a book is one thing, but when you can relax to the author’s voice and appropriate background music, it is much easier to immerse yourself in the elemental realms and build a personal relationship with the goddess and god. This four-CD set leads you through many of the exercises in the book The Outer Temple of Witchcraft. It guides you through the meditations, the journeys to the elemental realms, and the casting of a magick circle. It even includes chants for celebrating the seasons and raising power, along with ritual music (without words) for setting the tone of your ceremonies.

4-0 out of 5 stars Enjoyed this one.
Another great book in the "temple" series.Penczak recommends taking a year to complete all the exercises in the book.Perhaps because I am already a practicing Witch, I don't see how it could possibly take that long. Also, Penczak is very generic in his books and does not teach a particular path, but witchcraft in general.Recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Growing a foundation for spirt
One of the best books/cd sets I have come across. Get the book too, they are complementry, one is less without the other. Written in the same style as The Artist's Way, the author works through each basic step of forming a strong foundation for spiritual growth.Something many of us are missing. Many of us on the pagan path jumped right into trying to do magic. That's like going directly to flying a tomcat fighter jet without even doing time in a simulator! One needs some theory and basic physics to understand modern avionics. This is also true for the quantum physics that make up the manifestation of will as "magic".Wonderful book, wonderful author and the CD set just makes all of this even easier!

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing
Outer Temple Of Witchcraft: Circles, Spells and Rituals

Christopher has Soo much to offer the solitary practitioner, his works are AMAZING.

5-0 out of 5 stars Another quality product from Christopher Penczak
If you are working through the exercises in The Outer Temple of Witchcraft book, this CD set is an excellent companion. The first two CD's contain a series of meditations. The first is on the Goddess and God.The next 6 deal with the elements, including a Spirit meditation and an elemental cleansing.Penczak has a clear, mellow voice, and the new-age style background music sets a nice mood for meditating. Each meditation includes a countdown and count-up.If you have used Penczak's Inner Temple CD set and were annoyed by the way multiple exercises were narrated on the same track, you will be pleased to know that for the Outer Temple CD's each track is a separate meditation in the book.

The third and fourth CD's are different. The third CD is an aid for learning circle casting. It contains three tracks for people at different learning stages. The first track contains complete instructions for the circle casting.Penczak gives "stage directions" to tell you what actions to perform and also recites ritual words. For the second track, he recites the ritual words, but there are no action directions. The last track contains the rhythmic background music from the first two tracks without any words, so you can use it in your own rituals if you desire. This is a really nice tool for learning and practicing, especially if you lack the benefit of a live teacher to guide you.The last CD is a series of 9 chants, each about 3-4 minutes in length, sung a cappella by a small group. The chants are intended to be sung on specific Sabbats (he includes 2 chants for Yule and 1 chant for each of the other 7 Sabbats). The last track is a recitation of "The Charge of the Goddess".Again, this is a nice tool for a beginner who has yet to amass experience and resources. If you are starting out, you may not have heard any chants performed live or collected any recordings yet. This tool helps you get started using chant in your rituals.

I highly recommend these CD's as a companion to The Outer Temple book. Both these and The Inner Temple book and CD's are quality resources for beginners, especially those learning alone by necessity or choice

5-0 out of 5 stars Outer Temple CD Set
I purchased Chris' CD set to assist me in having a successful meditation. This set does that and more. Before I purchased this set I was unable to achieve a meditation at all. Now, I am able to go into a relaxing and restful meditation.I wish I had purchased the book at the same time from the same seller.Unfortunately for me, I purchased the book at a later date and am now awaiting delivery because it's on backorder.I fully intend on purchasing the Inner Temple of Witchcraft book and CD companion set.I know the Outer Temple is definately worth the money so I feel sure that purchasing the Inner Temple won't be a disappointment. For any one who is seriously contemplating learning how to meditate, this is a beautiful set and inexpensively priced.I cannot recommend it highly enough.Chris has done an excellent job and I thank him for it. ... Product Description
The Essential Guide opens the door to the darkly resplendent worlds of the Left Hand Path. Part philosophical treatise, part ontological stand-up comedy, and part magical practicum, this book makes clear what many other books have only hinted at. For people with wit and perseverance, this book is a training manual for super-men and women. Don Webb has been a practitioner of the Left hand path since the 1970s. He is the former High Priest of the Temple of Set, the world's largest Left Hand Path organization, and the author of the best-selling Seven Faces of Darkness. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars More than the Temple of Set!
I would like to start by saying that I am not a Setian nor do I ever plan to be involved with the Temple of Set.That being said, I found this book to be incredibly valuable to my own spiritual path and an important milestone in my dechristianizing.

The wealth of this book lies in its metaphysical model. It proposes a Supreme Being (referred to in the pages as "The Prince Of Darkness" perhaps for shock value) which encourages you to challenge your perceptions instead of accepting what a priest tells you, seek strength instead of weakness, transformation instead of conformity, freedom instead of moral restriction, glorious magic instead of pious toadying, and fulfillment instead of spiritual malaise. It also contains many good resources and suggestions on how to accomplish this.

While magic takes a leading role, the only real ritual in the book is the "Grand Initiation" which is Abramelinesque in its scope.Speaking as someone who has completed the ritual (well, more or less), I can tell you that the promised effects are real, albeit more subtle then most would-be wizards would want them to be.It also develops some good magical habits. If you are interested in this book because it might "betray temple secrets" or teach you how to curse people you don't like, you will be disappointed (though you might want to check out Don Webb's other books like "Mysteries of the Temple of Set" or "The Seven Faces of Darkness").Despite this, Uncle Setnakt shares some important magical insights that can benefit a wide range of fields. It is a book I come back to again and again.

4-0 out of 5 stars Uncle Setnakt's Essencal Guide to the Left Hand Path
This book is a refreshing breath of fresh air in a field largly dominated by frauds, swindlers, and out right nut jobs. I found it informative and without biase. Though the Autor is himself conected to an organized temple he gives no direct pitch to them. If you have read much of this liturature, then you must appricate how rare this is.
A quick warning to the newbe in the field. Don Webbs style is strait to the point and down to earth, this is not intended as discuragmnet to any readers. But give it a chance, and honestly try some of the exercises and most of all be honest with your results and i think you will be well along the path. A very heartfelt thank you to Mr. Webb for his honest and clear look at the work as it is, and not as so many comercial books would paint like to paint it for us.

5-0 out of 5 stars Straight to the point
This is a book I will read again in a few months or years. Has tons of info you can use straight up or tweak to fit your style of magic and or spiritual path. Definitely not for the lazy who are looking for a quick and easy "miracle " in their life. Gives practical applications for starting and maintaining a magical life. A lot of the advice makes sense even if you are not looking toward magic, as in chapter 2 ..."Practice". Sometimes humorous other times brutally honest and to the point. Also gives info on the Temple of Set if you want to try and join a school to further your knowledge.
I liked the part on the Grand Initiation....much more meaningful then a couple minute ritual dedicating yourself to "the Dark One". Read it for yourself so you understand what I mean. Some parts were difficult for this high school grad to understand since it is written at a colledge level. See... I can't even spell college correctly. But something worth understanding is worth studying until you can grasp more of it such as this book. I am also reading and applying"Initiation into Hermetics" by Franz Bardon" which is just as hard to comprehend if not more so.If your responsible for your own life and want to read a book about the Left Hand Path that is not about hate . Buy it...just buy it. I'm done.

2-0 out of 5 stars Few Rituals, Mostly Philosophy
A real beginners book, with very few rituals. Spends all it's time talking about how kind and nice they are. They just want to become better humans, by worshipping Set/Satan. What a JOKE! Another "Front Book" to draw people into a Nazi, Satanic Path of nothingness. Like all Set publications, you EVER get anything real. That requires years of you serving them as a slave, even then, they have little of value to offer. The author even states to "make up your own magic system." Meaning they have nothing to offer or refuse to share what they have.
This book tells you to be a nice guy, plan for the future, learn to sing, play a musical instrument and save your money for retirement! I am not kidding! Thinking that the only way to develop past the negative world, is to reject everything good and take on everything bad. This way, you can grow as a better person? Just another in a long line of junk, trying to sell the Satanic Path like Trident Press, Moloch Sorcery, Acorn Press and others that all try to keep the darkness of their soul hidden from the public. They do not have the courage to come out and state their real motives. Those seeking this type of information, should stay with the "Satanic Bible." This at least fairly states their purpose without hidding behind Set.
Get the real story by reading "The Magicians" by Gini Scott. Here the real rituals and practices are detailed. There S&M and Toture rituals are further detailed in the "Trancing of America." Both must reads!!

Excerpt: Stephen Edred Flowers (born 1953) is an American Runologist and proponent of occultism and Germanic mysticism. The Bonham, Texas-born author has over two dozen published books and hundreds of published papers on a disparate range of subjects. He is also known by the pen-name Edred Thorsson. Flowers advocates "Esoteric Runology" or "Odianism", an occultist version of Germanic Neopaganism. Flowers did his graduate work in Germanic and Celtic philology under professor and scholar Edgar Polomé at the University of Texas at Austin from 1973-1984. In 1981-1982 he studied the history of occultism at the University of Göttingen, Germany. He received his Ph.D. in Germanic Languages and Medieval Studies in 1984 with a dissertation entitled Runes and Magic: Magical Formulaic Elements in the Elder Tradition. From 1984-1989 he was a lecturer in the Departments of English and Germanic Languages at the University of Texas and was last known to be teaching Classical Philology at Austin Community College. Flowers was instrumental in the early establishment of the Germanic Neopagan movement in North America. and has also been very active in Left-Hand Path occult organizations. Flowers joined the Church of Satan in 1972 though he reportedly never became involved with the organization beyond his receiving their newsletter, "The Cloven Hoof." On November 11, 1983 he founded a small group to explore what he saw as the dark, futuristic undercurrent of Odinism called The Order of Shining Trapezohedron or "O.S.T." which was closed on January 13, 1984.
