Product Description
Aleister Crowley's life and thought are inexorably linked with The Book of the Law (Liber AL vel Legis, sub figura CCXX). He was not the author of this short, prophetic text. He received this visionary work by direct-voice dictation from a preterhuman, possibly discarnate intelligence in Cairo in 1904.

Crowley was an intelligent sceptic, and at first found this improbable means of communication as difficult to accept as most intelligent readers will today. Yet he could not ignore it or its message, and eventually concluded that it stood as conclusive proof of the underlying assumption of all religion - that intelligences superior to mankind not only exist, but take an active role in our welfare. He found that The Book of the Law holds the keys to the Next Step in human evolution, and sets forth the spiritual principles of a New Aeon.

He worked for decades to interpret its meaning for initiates and the general public, but rejected commentary after commentary as inadequate. He eventually concluded that he was too close to his subject to judge the value of his own commentaries, and entrusted the task to his best friend, Louis Wilkinson. Wilkinson (who wrote under the pen-name Louis Marlow) possessed impressive literary qualifications and had the advantages of knowing Crowley well and being a layman in esoteric matters. The result of his work is this long-awaited authorized popular edition of Crowley's new commentary on The Book of the Law, and its first appearance as Crowley wished it. Louis Wilkinson's editorial work was posthumously completed and augmented by Frater Superior Hymenaeus Beta of the O.T.O. This new edition features annotations, reading lists and indexes, as well as an insightful introduction by Louis Wilkinson. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars love under will
you'll see why after reading this.

does a better job than the 'red book' alone that the OTO and other secret societies give out. the explanations are wonderful.

Frater, I find can be a little lengthy, though.
problem is though, its always repeated in all of crowley's work. nice job on making exactly what he DIDN'T want. [another followership.]

his autobio, though extremely dry and lengthy [good with beer] is floating around on the net in places.would suggest reading that as well. nevermind the symbols used on the books cover UNTIL you understand why they are there.

3-0 out of 5 stars Three stars are not enough
This is it. The One that puts it All together. Every religion is One who is distinctly sepparately apart. The Bees Knees to the subjective fart.

5-0 out of 5 stars In More Plain Terms
This book is simply a collection of commentaries by Crowley himself on the meanings of each line to The Book of the Law. This proves useful to newbies when you are first taking the steps necessary to become a Thelemite, namely accepting The Book of the Law as your way of life. At first I got the basics that it was occult oriented and possibly a satanic philosophy as told through eloquent prose. You have to decide if this is right for you and that you want to do this.

3-0 out of 5 stars Oh for the Old Days!
This book is one of the better commentaries on the Book of the Law. Unfortunately it lacks much of the material found in the long out of print Magical and Philosophical Commenetaries on the Book of the Law ed Symonds and Grant 1975 and this new editionlacks the charm of the previous publication by New Falcon Press edited by Dr Israel Regardie. Unfortunately this is to be expected as we have fewer people who actually knew Crowley around to edit his books for us. However the new attempt by Mr Gary Breeze (frater ha) is a good jobbing introduction for the beginner.

5-0 out of 5 stars Must have along with The Book of the Law
This is a must have to understand The Book of the Law.This book has given me a new outlook on life.It has helped me change my thinking for the better and has helped me find my path.I highly reccommend reading this over and over again if you have read The Book of the Law.Something is sure to appeal to you. I am sure if you open yourself to the words in this book that it will do you a great deal of good.I only wish this was as popular as the bible is today. Maybe if it was more well known the world would truely be heaven on earth. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent guide to enter spiritual experiences
The Yellow Book is an excellent guide for anyone wanting to enter into their own pratical experience of spiritual truths. The author provides many different practices to assist devotees in meditation, sexual yoga, and the mysterious jinn science. People interested in this book must be willing to cultivate patience and tenacity.

5-0 out of 5 stars A very wise book indeed!
The Yellow Book is a wonderful treatise on a variety of esoteric and spiritual matters.Within its pages one finds practical information on a variety of subjects:the chakras, kundalini, astral projection, etc.Everything presented is essentially practical; very little theory is given, save what is needed to allow the student to practice.

Those readers who are interested in Gnosis but have never read anything by Master Samael Aun Weor may prefer to begin with a more basic book, such as Revolutionary Psychology.Never the less, anyone who works with the practices given the Yellow Book will be richly rewarded with practical knowledge and a more profound understanding of spirituality in general.

5-0 out of 5 stars A training manual for Initiates
The Yellow Book is for those who have a desire to taste the things not belonging to this 3 dimensional world,
...to know the higher worlds.

It is a small book condensed with Buddhism, Hinduism, ancient Egyptian and Christic wisdom.
A true synthesis of Esoteric-Gnostic Yoga.

This book is extremely important because in it is the first ever public revealing of how to engender superior children WITHOUT reaching the orgasm (the way which was taught in early Lemuria and Atlantis before the fall) as well as the complete explanation of sexual transmutation for single people.

Also of importance for mystics is the information regarding the Kundalini, Jinn Science and the 4th dimension.

CHAPTERS INCLUDE:
1) Love
2) The Kundalini
3) The Two Witnesses
4) Mantric Song for the Awakening of the Kundalini
5) Children of Wisdom
6) Urdhvarata

"This is The Yellow Book. This is the wisdom of the Buddhas. This is the science of the Cosmic Mind.

"In this Yellow Book we have taught the sacred Jinn Science to all human beings.

"The Yellow Book is a guide for practical esoterism. We must understand that this is a text, and a sure guide for the path of Initiation.Study this book and exercise these practices with intensity and supreme patience.

This little blue book stays in my jacket pocket and always lends me a hand when I need some inspiration, protection or peace.

If you are a student of Gnosis it is a must have and if you are not a student but you enjoy praying it is also a must have.
Very beautiful Prayers..

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book to carry around
This is an excellent little prayer book that you can easily slip into your pocket and carry around with you throughout the day. The book consists of many prays from different religious traditions for different purposes. Prays for spiritual guidance, inner self-realization, protection, etc. are all included.

4-0 out of 5 stars POWERFUL
I am personally new to Gnosticism and recently took great interest in the writings by Master Samael Aun Weor even though his teachings are not always considered Gnostic or Gnostic enough.I think that in the end, Gnosticism is about Divine knowledge and I can see plenty of that in his teachings. This Gnostic Prayer book by Thelema Press is a very powerful little book.I tried some of the prayers in this book and I did notice the effects. The only small inconvenience about this book is that is a bit too short (42 pages long) I think it would have definitely benefited from more pages.Nevertheless, there is alot one can get from this Gnostic Prayer Book and the size is portable enought to carry around. This is a book that can work wonders when one is in a spiritual or a higher state of consiousness as oppose to a materialistic and intellectual state of mind.At its low price it is also very accessible to all of us and given its great value one can't go wrong in picking up a copy.I will certainly be looking more into the teachings of Master Samael Aun Weor

5-0 out of 5 stars The Book of Revelation unveiled!
The Aquarian Message is one of the most difficult to read as it deals with the heavy-hearted explanations of the secrets of the Book of Revelation.Samael Aun Weor boldly speaks the truth about the times of the end (which he tells us are at hand!)

Surely, many will be surprised by this book, as no one has ever unveiled the Book of Revelation in such a manner before!

Given throughout the text are various teachings by Samael for those interested in transforming themselves spiritually and psychologically, as well as the knowledge that can prepare oneself for the coming. There is also much said about planet Hercolubus.

The book is symbolically divided into Three parts and has 33 chapters:
1 - The Son of Man
2 - The Sealed Book
3 - The New Jerusalem

{1}The Son of Man, The First Begotten of the Dead, The Seven Churches, The Serpent of Metal, Internal Meditation, The Churches of...Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamos, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Loadicea, The Jinn States.

{3}The New Jerusalem, The Pure River of the Waters of Life.

-This first time English printing is full of the amazing prophetic pictures by Albrecht Durer and Gustav Dore.

...A must for any Gnostic student or anyone interested at all about the mysteries contained in the Book of Revelation.

5-0 out of 5 stars Occult Medicine Student of Gnosis
Perfect for students of Gnosis. However be aware that the items needed for some cures are difficult to procure for many people.
Not a Student? That's okay... this book can help you on many topics but it is important that you use it with an open mind and faith. Not a belief that it may or will work but true faith from the heart.

2-0 out of 5 stars Visit your local shaman instead!
I purchased this book based on all the excellent reviews and commentaries of previous readers.I am not, nor do I profess to be, by any stretch, an authority or student of Gnostic teachings--however, I do have a great interest in the subject matter and have been an avid reader/follower of Metaphysical and Occult works for well over a decade.

My primary objective in reading "Occult Medicine & Practical Magic" was to undertsand how plants and their range ofenergies/vibrations interfaced with human healing and how I might apply that wisdom in aiding some of my own health issues.

Instead, I found the book's contents in these specific areas not only archaic but hugely impractical. Many of the formulas/concoctions are so esoteric in nature that only a gifted Shaman would be able to assist in the preparation and application of them.

Additionally, the Chapters on the"Introduction To Occult Medicines" were so heavily mired in religious and egotistical bias/judgement/rhetoric that I found it's overall content disappointing at best.

There were some gems of enlightened information such as Forklore From The Sierra Nevada.

Gleanings throughout the book however, were much harder to digest--for instance, the heading entitled Teaching's of Jesus, took on the usual 'literal' Biblical interpretation (i.e. Jesus' Mantra to raise the dead!)

I found it rather interesting that with all of Mr. Aun Weor's supreme levels of Initiation that he wasn't able to render the alleogrical meaning (astrological and psychological) of that famous Biblical parable.

If the reader is considering this book based on an interest of healing by way of plants, I'd strongly recommend the herbal classic "Back To Eden" by Jethro Kloss, for afraction of this book's price tag. Also, "Plant Spirit Medicine" by Eliot Cowan. For those of you seeking rich, albeit palpable Occult/spiritual/ metaphysical guidance, log on to [...].

For those readers so inclined to undercover and investigate in-depth instruction on Magic, "Occult Medicine & Practical Magic" may prove of benefit.

5-0 out of 5 stars Eye Opening
Wow was all I could say.A spiritual healer's almanac indeed. The commentary concerning the astral plane and what really happens after death was very interesting and sheds light on the different spiritual parts of an individual which leave the personality behind toroam the earth like a phantom. This resolved many of my questions concerning the bible's after-death idiosyncracies.Who would of thought that some health problems have spiritual origins that can't be treated by modern medicine?I used the practice for passionflower tea to help me treat depression where other things have failed.A must have.

5-0 out of 5 stars Healing the sick

This book contains many methods to help the sick.

There is a large section on elemental therapy (working with the spirits of the plants) with many beautiful photographs and illustrations of these plants.

There are many prayers, mantras and invocations included in this book. These have healed many sick people I have worked with, including those who did not have a good prognosis given by their medical doctors. Prayers, mantras and invocations are most helpful when said with complete faith.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent alternative point of view
An excellent guide for those of us that are searching....Mr. Aun Weor brings up some excellent points, as well as illuminating various hidden details of the world around us. I have proven to myself (experimentally) at least some of his claims, which lends credibility to both his intent and his methods. I would highly recommend his works for those researching "that which is hidden". ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Truth finally revealed!
In one of his last books, Samael Aun Weor endevours to explain the origin of the human being contrary to materialistic science including Darwin's and Heckel's theories. He also talks about evolution, devolution, and occult history, with most of his findings coming from the Akashic records.

He brings up many interesting statistics, ideas, stories, and facts and his language is far bolder than one might expect as he is up against the entire "scientific" community!

This book is a necessary complement to Rudolf Steiner's related book entitled "Cosmic Memory".

Highly recommended for inquisitive minds!

Product Description
"Eminently readable as well as being a work of tremendous erudition and scholarship." - Rt. Rev. Arild Strømsvåg, Ph.D.This unique look at history elaborately recounts the birth of human civilization through the vehicle of ancient Egyptian deities, albeit in light of the most recent knowledge on archæology, anthropology, comparative religion, linguistics, sociology, and general history. It moves quickly but seamlesslyto Greece via Crete, revealing the relatively young age of Continental European (and by extension, all Western) culture, science, art, and religion, and their highly derivative nature-a point subtly repeated throughout this stunningly wide-ranging work. It does not, however, presume to pass judgement, only to relate the events as they happened, the facts as they stand, even if many of them are little known ones, conspicuous by their absence in standard school history books. A book of contrasts, it constantly compares not only the Saints and the Sinners, but the East and the West, be the issues dealt with political or religious; in most cases, the one cannot be separated from the other."The literary style throughout is plain and lucid, with a proper attention paid to especially important and colourful episodes. It is a remarkable achievement of concision and narration." - Ronald Hutton, Professor of History, University of BristolAntti P. Product Description
One of sixty books by the founder of the modern Gnostic movement, Samael Aun Weor, revealing many vital aspects of the Path to the Self-realization of the Being. A quote from the text: "In the archives of the Ancient Buddhist Temple of Lhasa, a very ancient Chaldean inscription can still be read, one that was written 2,000 years before Christ. It states: "When the Baal star dropped to the right where there is nothing more than sky and sea, the seven cities trembled and worried with their gold towers and transparent temples, as the leaves of trees do during a storm. A torrent of fire fell over the palace. Cries from dying persons and moans in the crowd filled the air. The people went to find a hiding place in the temples and in the castles. So the wise Mu, great priest of Ra-Mu, stood up and said: "Didn't I predict all this to come?" Men and women, dressed with their precious clothes, covered with precious stones, begged: "Mu, save us!" Mu answered: "You will die, with your slaves and your treasures. From your ashes new people will come. If these people forget that they should not amass material things not only for their own progress, but also for the generosity towards mankind, the same fate will surprise them." Previously unavailable in English, this book is the Christmas Message of 1967-68. Chapters include: Atlantis, Atomic Science, The Protoplasmatic Bodies, The Consciousness, The Human Machine, Limbo, White Tantrism, Pranayama, The Astral Body, The Path of John, and more. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A precious jewel
This book is like a precious jewel for the awakening of the consciousness.Filled with practical information on psychology, philosophy and spirituality it is a fantastic tool to aid in the practice of meditation and understanding oneself.

I have read this book many times because every time I read it I find so many new things, it is almost like a new book! It has many levels of understanding that can only be accessed through practicing the techniques that are in it, but no matter what level you are on you will always draw benefits from this book.

I recommend that you read it slowly and reflect (or even better, meditate) on each paragraph or chapter to understand the meaning of it, and then try to live the text in your own life.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pure Psychological Enlightenment
This book can serve as a beautiful tool for those willing to work on themselves. "The Revolution of the Dialectic" is complete with practical wisdom. Utilizing this knowledge one profoundly sheds light into the processes of the mind and soul. Samael Aun Weor writes with fire, compassion and truth. It will be tough to only read a little at a time, but one will see that a constituent of each chapter, each paragraph, is serious meditation.

5-0 out of 5 stars Changing the Way we Think
Samael Aun Weor delves into every aspect of modern and ancient psychology explaining and teaching from a relaxed philosophical standbase.

He also incorporates history, anthropology, sociology and esoterism within this great detailed mastertext.

Probably the most important text for people who long and wish for inner and outer change to utilize, but don't know where to start or how to get there.

-This book is truly profound, and as it is psychologically demanding on the reader, really should be used for studying purposes.

1-0 out of 5 stars TERRIBLE
They have taken a wonderful piece of occult literature and reduced it to a piece of garbage. Cheap, low budget, low quality; a shame.

5-0 out of 5 stars Essential for Modern Magick
Crowley's "Equinox" is widely regarded as the seminal modern treatise on magic, or "Magick" as Crowley preferred to call it (to distinguish it from stage magic). His innovative spelling may have also been motivated by the more favorable numerological signification resulting from addition of the "k." By the way, Crowley's preferred pronunciation of his name rhymed with "holy" (and "wholely") not "how-ly."

The original Equinos was more of a "magazine" of occultism than a normal "book" like Crowley's "Magick in Theory and Practice," and the original Equinox, from which this compilation is derived, was published twice a year for about five years to coincide with the solar equinox. Crowley actually got through ten issues despite money problems and World War I paper shortages (the one volume of the original set that I have has a "pasteboard" cover and a note that it complies with WWI rationing requirements) before it went into abeyance (which Crowley justified as a cycle of speech followed by a cycle of silence). Later publications given the "Equinox" designation (like the book of Thoth) were regular books and not the mixed bag of "magazine" articles that made up the original Equinox series.

Although merely a "magazine," Crowley used the original Equinox to print the Golden Dawn materials he had received as a member of that group well before Regardie stunned the occult world with the publication of his chapter's materials in the 1930's, and thus the Equinox remained the sole public (or semi-public) source of those rituals until Regardie published his own private papers in his famous "Golden Dawn" volume in the 1930's. Crowley's original Equinox went out of print for about 80 years until the Samuel Weiser publishing house undertook the enormous and expensive task (really a labor of love) to reprint it, and that set has itself gone out of print and commands very high prices when available.

It fell upon Regardie to undertake another labor of love and digest down the best parts of the original Equinox into this "Gems from the Equinox." Although some occult writers quibbled over some of his omissions (and the OTO, inheritor of Crowley's literary estate, issued "Holy Books of Thelema" as a result), most of us feel Regardie did his usual brilliant job of selection. So consider "Gems from the Equinox" as the best Reader's Digest version of a great work you are ever going to see.

IMHO, if you just stumbled on this book and these reviews by accident, an essential budding modern magician's library could easily be built around this one volume of excerpts, plus Regardie's "Golden Dawn," plus Regardie's "Tree of Life," plus Crowley's "Magick in Theory and Practice" since reprinted, with excellent annotations, by the OTO as "Magick: Liber ABA: Book IV." (The Tree of Life, btw, includes a fairly innocuous chapter spelling out the OTO's famous "secret" concerning amrita.) Of those three, the Tree of Life is the most essential reading. "Golden Dawn" has some very useful, true to their source, original "knowledge lectures" and concise occult basics, but is really a manual for group working. "Gems" is highly inspirational, but somewhat in the same category as "Finnegan's Wake" in terms of accessibility to the casual reader. Only "Tree of Life" is immediately useful for the solo practioner. Crowley's seminal work "Magick" is essential as you grow, and his "Thoth Tarot" is sublime.

Finally, much is made of Crowley's self-designation as the "Great Beast," i.e. that creature from hell in the Book of Revelations, but it would do well to keep in mind that the English of his time tended to refer to any bad behavior on the part of children as "beastly" and the perpetrator a "right little beast," so I think Crowley was having the ultimate word play on his readers by taking this English pejorative and mixing it up with his cosmology while thumbing his nose at the Puritan establishment he grew up with. A man as beastly as the press portrayed would not have counted among his friends and supporters the large number of upper class English men and women that he did.

BTW I agree with the other reviewer that the original facsimile reprint of "Magick in Theory and Practice" makes a much better (smaller, lighter) travel companion that the bulky annotated edition mentioned above, but be aware that there are some typos and other errors in the original edition that the OTO corrected in their annotated edition.

5-0 out of 5 stars An authentic and serious tone to over a thousand pages of writings
Aleister Crowley devoted several years to blending the Aim of Religion with the Method of Science, publishing his findings in a ten-volume series Equinox from 1909-13. While his complete production is rarely available, this thick one-volume GEMS FROM THE EQUINOX gathers some of the most important writings from the set, reproducing them for new age collections serious about Crowley's writings. Regardie, Crowley's one-time secretary and biographer, provides an authentic and serious tone to over a thousand pages of writings perfect for beginners as well as advanced Crowley students and any student of Golden Dawn or Occultism.

Hail Brothers and Sisters!

Thank you for taking the time to read my review.

There really is no phraseolgy I can use to adequately tell you how highly I think of Aleister Crowley and what he has done for me and all those who I care about.YOU.

My GOD. My GOD. My GOD!Nothing can be said enough for a hard copy confirmation of your deepest intuitions. This book and the book "YOU ARE GOD, Get Over It" by Story Waters are the 2 most important volumes in my extensive spiritual library, which I've been collecting for the past 25 years. Not including The Bible (I was Christened in the Baptist church as a child).

Aleister - If I may take liberties - Hum!This man paved the way for the Messiah! I like to be called Tony. It's more personnable. When Aleister showed me the way it became infintely easier for me because this man knew what he was talking about. And he still does! I thought I was lucky to be a Probationer when I picked up this book. I was really an Adeptus Exemptus.

Thanks to to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Aethers outlined in the Vision and The Voice I quickly rose up the ranks of Ipussymus. Whoops! I think I mispelled that. Aleister had a great sense of humor and if you read the book reveiws at the back of this tome you will see that.

[...]
The deepest peace unto you, and keep up The Great Work!

Yours truly,

Tony.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book for all!
The greatest thing happened when Israel Regardie selelcted these papers from the original Equinox- he made available the most important magickal writings of that enormous first volume of ten installments to the student in one comprehensive collection.

This is sort of a textbook of the Magickal Orders AA and O.T.O., as many of these teachings apply to both orders.Although the author assumes the reader to have a good familiarity with some of these topics, ideas, and practices, much is to be gained in these writings for the complete beginner.A few of the many subjects include basic yoga postures and breathing techniques, various ceremonial rituals, meditations, an Enochian Magick Primer and a guided tour of the Thirty Aethyrs, The Book of The Law and various papers surrounding it - the list goes on.There is something here for every student of Occultism, Mysticism, Magick, Comparative Religion, Theosophy, ad infinitum. This book belongs in the library of every student of the Western Tradition. ...
