Definition cards are visual, grammatical puzzles that let children have fun while manipulating the components of a sentence. First children match the full definition (on one card) to a photo of the defined term (from our 3-part cards). Once this is easy for them, we add challenge by asking them to match the term to the rest of the definition (we give them the control card separated into two parts). Finally, we divide the definition into parts and free the children to mix and match phrases while they try to link the term and both halves of its definition (the control card separated into three parts).
