This book is providing a summarry of must-known instrumentation.
Some basic priciples for each intrumentation are the plus sides.
It is good for quick review because of only 192 pages.
I would give 4 stars if the price is around $20.

Not yet for real life
Actually, I'm working with strain gages and operacional amplifiers for study impact waves in iron. I buy this book after build an amplifier unit and install strain gages and measure impact waves, and in past years I useand designed flow meters. This book is very superficial. An experimenterneed that somebody take information from electrical books, manufacturermanuals(strain gages), signal analysis books, fluid dynamics books, solidmechanics books, etc. and explain its use in instrumentation. Most peopleknow what a strain gage is...is not a mistery!. The real challenge is tomake the system work! and know that a strain gage is a electricalresistance don't help. Between this book and a real life aplication exist along road(start in this book and finish in the system working). ... Read more
