3-0 out of 5 stars yes~ but,
of coarse being a psychic myself, i know of all of the metaphysical happening thousands of years ago. but~ i am jewish, and don't refer to the king james bible. a lot of folks don't read it. i have a tanakh, the jewish bible. so~ just living my own life i know what exists and what did, but the kabalah is plum full of the stuff! as well as the fact that all of these things go on right now in this time. we have present time masters here now also. i agree with the basic idea being put across with this book, but i would not refer to the king james bible.

Wonderful book!

I grew up psychic and Christian and I have always believed that psychic abilities were inherent in all people because of what was in the Bible.

Now Ted Martin makes it easy for me to explain where I get my beliefs from.I have found this a wonderful educational tool forChristians to understand the Bible in ways that are ignored or overlookedby the mainstreem.

Thanks Ted

4-0 out of 5 stars The best book I've found on this subject, by far!
Jesus was a master psychic!

Moses practicedmagic'!

King David had five psychics on his staff!

Shocking??Shouldn't be!It's all recorded in the King James version of the Bible!

Iteach classes on accessingone's own inner knowing (often called 'being psychic' or 'the Gifts ofSpirit').Ted Masters' book, "Psychic & Paranormal Phenomena inthe Bible, - the True Story", has helped many of my students, especially those coming from a fundamentalist Christian background, tounderstand the real spiritual nature of these contraversial abilities whichalmost everyone has.

Martin's book gives "chapter & verse"so you can look it up in your own bible. The one drawback is that some ofhis chapter sub-headings have an inappropriately suggestive double meaning- I'm not easily offended, but it bothers me.

I'm sure you will find hisbook both funny and insightful- and perhaps "inciteful" aswell!

Product Description
Harry Settani's work explores psychic or paranormal phenomena from a uniquely philosophical perspective. Today's forms of science cannot accommodate the reality of the paranormal and therefore, Settanni proposes, the current view of reality must be changed in order to establish the real possibilities for such phenomena. The author discusses such notions as Whitehead's Fallacy of Simple Location and seeks to define the content for twentieth century science. Contents: The Ethical Impact of Twentieth Century Science; Psychic Phenomena and Twentieth Century Physics; The Mind: Is It Merely the Activity of the Brain?; The Problem of Personal Identity; Dimensions; Space-Time and Spinoza; Seeds; The Last Frontier; Atoms and Eidos: The Emerging Contemporary Philosophy. ... Product Description
A national Gallup Poll found 93 percent of Americans believe in one or more paranormal phenomena thatScience can’t explain and won’t accept. Veteran journalist and business writer Michael Schmicker tracked down the best scientific evidence for these phenomena which refuse to disappear. No National Enquirer nonsense here. Schmicker puzzled over statistics-stuffed psychokinesis studies from Princeton University and reincarnation research from University of Virginia; reviewed over 140 books from the 1894 classic ghost study Phantasms of the Living to a 1999 study of near death and out-of-body experiences by the blind, Mindsight; searched through professional journals and papers presented to the Parapsychological Assn. (affiliated with the American Association for the Advancement of Science); discovered surprising endorsements ofpsychic research from Freud and Jung,Sherlock Holmes creator Arthur Conan Doyle and Apollo astronaut Edgar Mitchell; tracked fiery academic debates on the Internet; exchanged email with poltergeist hunters; and even spent an evening at a mind-bending, spoon-bending PK party in Nevada. Michael Schmicker edits a high-technology industry newsletter covering developments in biotechnology, astronomy, computer software and ocean/earth sciences industries. An associate member of the Society for Scientific Exploration, he wrote Yahoo Internet Life Magazine’s guide to the best websites dedicated to “Paranormal Phenomena.”Amazon.com Review
In Best Evidence, Michael Schmicker assembles scientific documentation for experiences that many readers intuitively believe are real, despite mainstream skepticism: ESP, psychokinesis, mental healing, ghosts and poltergeists, dowsing, mediums, near-death experiences, reincarnation, and, as Schmicker puts it, "Other Impossible Phenomena That Refuse to Disappear." Expect a credible collection of convincing evidence, such as a published report in the American Journal of Diseases of Children in which a Seattle doctor offers a detailed account of a near-death experience. Or a 1995 report fromthe CIA on the practice of remote viewing, inwhich the U.S. government hired psychics to spy on other countries. Other evidence ispresented to convince readers of death-bed visions, ghosts andpoltergeists, and reincarnation. While anyone can manipulate data to draw their own conclusions, Schmicker's evenhanded, journalistic tone brings credibility and a no-nonsense tone to theseesoteric discussions. He also possesses a smooth, accessible writing stylethat makes it easy to digest the research, studies, and data that hisbook is based upon. After each chapter, he offers a "HighlyRecommended Reading" list so readers can continue their own research. --Gail Hudson ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent.
I have read dozens of books on the subject , and this one is a very good one. Researched , detailed , and logical in its conclusions . Thank you for writing this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars "Best Evidence"
A well researched book on paranormal phenomena not easily or readily explained. Author Schmicker draws on the history of renowned thinkers and scientific minds to present his scientific evidence of its existence...Edison,Einstein, Freud, Jung, Dickens, Abraham Lincoln, and many others make compelling cases to support these findings. The book truly lives up to its title..."Best Evidence", and is a pleasure to read. Whether you are a "true believer, cautious believer, or just plain "curious", I think you will enjoy this book.

1-0 out of 5 stars Hello? Is there Anyone Home?
I agree with the reviewer who says that "if you believe in psi then this is a good book."

The problem is that there is not one scrap of evidence in favor of psi phenomena -it's not real. Like God.

1-0 out of 5 stars Poorly Written
In short this book is poorly written. The author does not know how to tell a story or draw a reader in except in the title "Best Evidence." He skims through the relevant topics as if he a student trying to fill his word quota. I suggest sticking to Dean Radin's book The Conscious Universe. PS Why does the authors name appear at the top of every page?

5-0 out of 5 stars Good, yes, but...
I found the book an excellent read; I am a recent PSI junkie. This is my 4th or 5th book on the subject.Although I agree it is well-done, I recommend Dean Radin's book as a better, and more credible introduction.

Still 5 stars as I appreciate the entertaining writing. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Fortean Times, Japan-style
"Supernatural and Mysterious Japan:Spirits, Hauntings and Paranormal Phenomena" is the type of book one might pick up in a New Age bookstore, right next to "Forbidden Secrets of the Pyramids" and "How to See Leprechauns."The author, Catrien Ross, runs QRQ in Nishi Hachioji Japan, a "healing center" for "healers, alternative thinkers and futurists."

With that in mind, "Supernatural and Mysterious Japan" is a decent little book on with some good information on psychic phenomena in modern Japan as well as some nice ghost stories and haunted places. The book is heavier on psychics than ghosts, with quite a bit on mystic healing which is Ross's own forte. The "Strange but True" chapter contains some nice weirdness, such as the grave of Jesus Christ in northern Aomori prefecture and the living mummies of Gassan mountain.

My personal favorite sections were "Modern Day Hauntings" and "Edo Era Tales."While I had heard many of the stories before, Ross is well-informed and added some new bits and some new stories, as well as some haunted places to check out.Her take on the famous "Tokaido Yotsuya Kaidan" was very nice, with some history of the tale and how it was adapted by various media.

Overall, not a great book on the Japanese supernatural, but not terrible either. It is small, at only 160 pages, but she manages to pack in quite a bit of good stuff. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars In Praise of "Places"
I found this book facinating. It's a book that details a twenty year long private project to investigate the "paranormal" activity around various standing stones and circles in Britain. I can find NO OTHER book that covers this material in this way. There are many, thousands even, on the mystery of Britain's standing stones, but none that cover the scientific details of what "paranormal" manifestations occur at each site.

The book details many stone sites, but focuses on one particular site because the Rollright Stone Circle is the Dragon Project's headquarters. The evidence for the strange occurences around Rollright speaks for itself in "Places." Radio emissions at strange and unusual frequencies, repeated over and over in regular patterns, prompted many to suspect a military source. Yet when that is carefully ruled out, the signals still look "artificial." All compass deviations are carefully noted, and any radioactivity is also discussed in detail.

What I liked most about this book is how it approaches its unusual subject. While many "newage" books go over the top and become diatribes on how the stones were constructed by aliens, et cetera, this book remains clearly in the realm of real science. Yet it is not close-minded to the paranormal. It has a broad-minded and honest eye for what's happening at circles and standing stones. It uses science to prove its findings, yet does not descend to harshly worded debunkery, as many so-called scientific books on similar subjects often do.

There are some facinating hints and theories about the construction and use of stone sites by the ancients, as well as some ideas on how to use such sites today. I will be attempting the copper pyramid/photograph of crystal experiment myself very soon. Anyone who is interested in crystal power or orgone/ethertechnology should definitely take a look at this book. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Jackpot!!
I was so pleasantly surprised by this book!

Finally, FINALLY someone has made the effort to truly dig in to the actual documented history of some of the "known haunted" places in Illinois.Micheal Kleen has proven that the ghost stories, legend tripping, and haunted-tours-by-armchair can still be fascinating and creepy when told with the facts instead of only the melodramatic folktales. While other books by some other authors are definitely as entertaining, they are truly fiction and serve only to propagate incorrect information.

And, even better - while pointing out some of these discrepancies, Mr. Kleen remains professional and does not throw anyone under a bus when talking about things others have written. All he does is clarify.

The places he writes about are still creepy, still fascinating, and still great to read...he just takes the time to throw in that much-needed dash of historical accuracy that is quite often missing in books like this. For me, a big part of the fun of books like this is the history of the locations, so this is a very refreshing find.

I plan on buying up a number of his other books as soon as possible!

For years paranormal scientists have explored the detection and documentation of spirits, auras, ESP, hypnosis, and many more phenomena through electronics.Electronic Projects from the Next Dimension provides useful information on building practical circuits and projects, and applying the knowledge to unique experiments in the paranormal field. The author writes about dozens of inexpensive projects to help electronics hobbyists search for and document their own answers about instrumental transcommunication (ITC), the electronic voice phenomenon (EVP), and paranormal experiments involving ESP, auras, and Kirlian photography.

Although paranormal studies are considered esoteric, Electronic Projects from the Next Dimension teaches the technical skills needed to make devices that can be used in many different kinds of experiments. Each section indicates how the circuit can be used in paranormal experiments with suggestions about procedures and how to analyze the results.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good launching pad for paranormal gadgets
This is a fun little book if you have an interest in the technical side of paranormal investigation. If you have a little experience as an electronics hobbyist and can read a basic circuit diagram, you should be able to take these projects and customize them for use in your own investigations.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excelent
This is an interesting book

1-0 out of 5 stars Electronic Joke
WARNING!!! This book really dissappointed me from begining to end! Though the history is well documented through-out,that is not the main reason why I bought the book. If you have a DEGREE in electronics and don't mind dishing out hundreds or thousands of dollars to replace your equipment that might be fried ( if not yourself!! ) get the book! I am no dummy, but I do not have the time to learn to become an electronic technician. All 258 pages of this book, are designed for you, the reader to make circuit boards to attach to your electronic equipment to do experiments with. EVERY part of this book was making a circuit board of somewhat. I could not even use 1 of this books experiments! This book is NOT for the non-electronic circuit board builder. I unfortunatly wasted my good money on something I can NEVER use in this life time or dimension. Wish someone had wrote a review like this before I bought. Every experiment requires you to build a circuit board. Big Joke. Not for the average paranormalist or ghosthunter.

2-0 out of 5 stars Good initiative but not convincing
The book has a very good initiative: to collect a number of circuits dedicated to paranormal experiments. However, after reading through the first few chapters, I was very dissappointed. Personally I do believe in ghosts and life-after-death, but the experiments described cannot offer any scientific proof of anything, they are just plain sloppy! Recording some sound from a noise source and then analyzing the recording later! Well, you might pick up some audio from next door or your TV downstairs! These types of results can never convince anyone, no wonder that these "paranormal investigators" can never make it to the mainstream. Other negative comments include: The numerous circuits for noise generation, but no explanation of the advantage or difference among them; in fact, they might all produce the same results! then why waste so much space describing them in the first place! The camera in front of the TV is another joke, one might pick up some weird patterns but how can you claim that they are ghosts?

5-0 out of 5 stars For the amateur scientist
This is a great collection of projects. I got the book about a year ago. I constructed some of the projects and I am working on another one right now. They have all been fun and the book does a good job of documenting the projects. The results of some of the experiments are quite interesting. I don't know if there is anything paranormal going on, but it is hard to explain some of the phenomena. Recommended for the amateur scientist! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars After Life from Above:Healings of a Paranormal Nature
I have read many books about the After Life and this one attracted me almost immediately because of how the author uses her own knowledge and experience but also that of others. That gives it more credibility in my heart. When reading the book it is very apparent that "Spirit" has aided in the sharing of information put into words here.Anita has a gift, a special love for Spirit, and is true in sharing information for individuals beginning their spiritual track, involved in a recent loss of a loved one, or wanting corroboration of information from another source.
