Product Description
The purpose of this manual is to orient Soldiers to the functions and descriptions of hand grenades and ground pyrotechnic signals. It provides a reference for the identification and capabilities of various hand grenades and pyrotechnic signals. It also provides a guide for the proper handling and throwing of hand grenades, suggests methods and techniques for the tactical employment of hand grenades, and provides a guide for commanders conducting hand grenade training.

This manual provides information and guidance for operating, using, and training with hand grenades. It is intended for two user groups: training centers responsible for introducing and training soldiers to a basic knowledge level; and field units, officers, and noncommissioned officers responsible for sustaining basic knowledge level skills and advancing Soldier skills in the employment of hand grenades on the battlefield.

The development of new hand grenades and improvement of existing hand grenades has resulted in many different gren ... Read more

Product Description
On the demand side, exporters and strategic planners focusing on fireworks, signaling flares, rain rockets, fog signals and other pyrotechnic articles in United Kingdom face a number of questions. Which countries are supplying fireworks, signaling flares, rain rockets, fog signals and other pyrotechnic articles to United Kingdom? How important is United Kingdom compared to others in terms of the entire global and regional market? How much do the imports of fireworks, signaling flares, rain rockets, fog signals and other pyrotechnic articles vary from one country of origin to another in United Kingdom? On the supply side, United Kingdom also exports fireworks, signaling flares, rain rockets, fog signals and other pyrotechnic articles. Which countries receive the most exports from United Kingdom? How are these exports concentrated across buyers? What is the value of these exports and which countries are the largest buyers? This report was created for strategic planners, international marketing executives and import/export managers who are concerned with the market for fireworks, signaling flares, rain rockets, fog signals and other pyrotechnic articles in United Kingdom. With the globalization of this market, managers can no longer be contented with a local view. Nor can managers be contented with out-of-date statistics which appear several years after the fact. I have developed a methodology, based on macroeconomic and trade models, to estimate the market for fireworks, signaling flares, rain rockets, fog signals and other pyrotechnic articles for those countries serving United Kingdom via exports, or supplying from United Kingdom via imports. It does so for the current year based on a variety of key historical indicators and econometric models. In what follows, Chapter 2 begins by summarizing where United Kingdom fits into the world market for imported and exported fireworks, signaling flares, rain rockets, fog signals and other pyrotechnic articles. The total level of imports and exports on a worldwide basis, and those for United Kingdom in particular, is estimated using a model which aggregates across over 150 key country markets and projects these to the current year. From there, each country represents a percent of the world market. This market is served from a number of competitive countries of origin. Based on both demand- and supply-side dynamics, market shares by country of origin are then calculated across each country market destination. These shares lead to a volume of import and export values for each country and are aggregated to regional and world totals. In doing so, we are able to obtain maximum likelihood estimates of both the value of each market and the share that United Kingdom is likely to receive this year. From these figures, rankings are calculated to allow managers to prioritize United Kingdom compared to other major country markets. In this way, all the figures provided in this report are forecasts that can be combined with internal information sources for strategic planning purposes. ... Read more

Product Description
High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! A (decoy) flare is an aerial infrared countermeasure to counter an infrared homing ("heat seeking") surface-to-air missile or air-to-air missile. Flares are commonly composed of a pyrotechnic composition based on magnesium or another hot-burning metal, with burning temperature equal to or hotter than engine exhaust. The aim is to make the infrared-guided missile seek out the heat signature from the flare rather than the aircraft's engines. ... Read more

Excerpt: In an explosive, pyrotechnic device or military munition, a fuse (or fuze) is the part of the device that initiates function. In common usage, the word fuse is used indiscriminately. However, when being specific (and in particular in a military context), the term fuse describes a simple pyrotechnic initiating device, like the cord on a firecracker, whereas the term fuze is used to indicate a more sophisticated ignition device incorporating mechanical and/or electronic components e.g. a proximity fuze for an M107 artillery shell, magnetic/acoustic fuze on a sea mine, spring-loaded grenade fuze, pencil detonator or anti-handling device. The simplest form of fuse is the burning fuse, believed to date back to the 10th century and originating in China, this simple fuse consisted of lightweight paper filled with loose gunpowder, and served as a means of delaying ignition in fireworks. This simple form of burning fuse can still be found today in many modern pyrotechnics. A version of this simple fuse is called visco fuse, and consists of the burning core coated with wax or lacquer for durability and water resistance. The commercial and military version of a burning fuse referred to as safety fuse (invented by William Bickford) is a textile tube filled with combustible material and wrapped to prevent external exposure of the burning core. Safety fuses are used to initiate the detonation of explosives through the use of a blasting cap. Modern day safety fuses are often used in mining and military operations, to provide a time-delay before ignition, and they more often than not are used to initia...More: http://booksllc.net/?id=683343 ...
