Xhabir theksoi perdorimin e eksperimentit dhe zhvillimit te metodave ne menyre qe te arrihej prodhueshmeri ne punen e tij. Ai i kushtoi mundin e tij zhvillimit te metodave baze ne kimi dhe studimit the mekanizmave te ndryshem te reaksoneve kimike duke ndihmuar keshtu zhvillimin e kimise si shkence qe nga kohet e alkimise. Ai gjithashtu theksoi qe sasi te caktuara te substancave te ndryshme perfshihen ne reaksione kimike. Prandaj, mund te thuhet qe ai hapi rrugen per ligjin e raporteve konstante. Kontributi i tij me rendesi me te madhe ne fushen e kimise perfshin perfeksionimin e teknikave shkencore si psh: kristalizimit, distilimit, avullimit, kalcinimit dhe zhvillimit te disa pajisjeve per kryerjen e ketyre eksperimenteve. Arritja e tij me e madhe ishte zbulimi i mineraleve dhe acideve te cilat ai i pregatiti per here te pare ne alembikun e tij. Shpikja e tij e alembikut beri procesin e distilimit me te lehte dhe me sistematik. Midis arritjeve te tjera te tij eshte edhe pergatitja e nitrikut, hidroklorikut, citrikut, dhe acideve tartarike. Ishte ne saje te ketyre veprave qe ai njihet si babai i kimise. Sipas Maks Majerhafit zhvillimi i kimise ne Evrope mund te gjendet direkt te Xhabir Ibn Haijani.
