We worked continuously on apotosis related-AChE expression of apoptotic cells. In our experiments, we found increased AChE expression in apoptotic neuroblastoma SK-N-SH cells after long-term culture. Our results first showed that in apoptotic SK-N-SH cells, AChE aggregated in the nucleus and suppression of AChE expression with antisense oligonucleotide could save the cells from apoptosis. It was also found that caspase-3 activity was parallel with AChE activation in apoptotic SK-N-SH cells. These results suggest that AChE plays an important role in the procession of neuroblastoma cell apoptosis and favor the association between AChE and neuronal apoptosis in Alzheimer¡¯s disease (AD). We have isolated the mononuclear cells from total cord blood, then separated HSC(CD34 ) from the mononuclear cells by using CD34 progenitor cell isolation kit(Miltenyi Biotic #130-042-410). We observed that the mononuclear cells expressed AChE when they are induced to apoptossis. We will investegate the procedure of AchE expression of different mononuclear cells, and observe whether HSC easily apoptosis and express the enzyme. if we add antisense or some AChE inhibitor , whether the apoptosis can be inhibited and cells can be survived.

It was said that the Minister in charge of historical records, Zhang Heng , invented an apparatus, which could tell the time and location of earthquakes. Many people doubted this because they didn't think people could tell what happened far away in other parts of the world. The apparatus Zhang Heng invented was called the seismograph, which was the first one in the world history. According to the records in the Later Han Dynasty History , that apparatus was cast with bronze. The outer appearance of it was like a jar with an inner diameter of 8 feet. The mechanism was placed inside the apparatus, and 8 dragons were set in 8 directions outside the apparatus. Each dragon had a bronze ball in its mouth, and the earthquake waves could make the inside mechanism of the apparatus start to work and hit the pole on the head of the dragon. Then, the ball would fall from the dragon to the mouth of a corresponding frog in the direction of the earthquake. Therefore, the observer could get to know what time and in which direction an earthquake had happened.
