Es ist zwar von Anfang an deutlich, dass Hobbes jede Form der Gewaltenteilung ablehnt - ja aufgrund seiner Definition des Souveräns ablehnen muss, der Begriff selbst taucht nur an wenigen Stellen auf.Um seine Ansichten nachvollziehen und verstehen zu können, ist es notwendig, seine Herleitung des Staates und seinen Souveränitätsbegriff von Anfang an zu verfolgen. Deshalb habe ich die vorliegende Arbeit so aufgebaut, wie auch Hobbes in seinem Werk vorgeht. Auf eine Einordnung Hobbes in den geschichtlichen Kontext und auf ein Kapitel über die Person Thomas Hobbes habe ich bewusst verzichtet, um den Umfang der Arbeit nicht unnötig aufzublähen.Im folgenden zweiten Kapitel werde ich die Situation des Menschen im Naturzustand, d.h. vor dem Zusammenschluss mit anderen Menschen zu einen Staat, darstellen.Im darauffolgenden Kapitel wird die Staatsgründung mittels der Vertragstheorie erörtert und im vierten Kapitel die verschiedenen Staatsformenmodelle nach Hobbes skizziert.Im fünften Kapitel werde ich mich dann auf der Grundlage der vorhergegangenen Kapitel explizit mit Hobbes Äußerungen zur und seiner Kritik an der Gewaltenteilung auseinandersetzen.In einem abschließenden Kapitel möchte ich einige Ansatzpunkte der Kritik aufzeigen, die an Hobbes Theorie nach heutigem Verständnis auffallen.Hobbes Herleitung des Staates ist nicht stringent und verändert sich auch in seinen verschiedenen Büchern über die Jahre, aufgrund von eigenen Einsichten und Kritiken auf seine Schriften. This book discusses the Aristotelian setting of Thomas Hobbes' main work on natural philosophy, De Corpore (1655). Leijenhorst's study puts particular emphasis on the second part of the work, entitled Philosophia Prima.
