Product Description

In 2010, India celebrated its 60th anniversary as an independent sovereign republic. India is the fourth largest economy by gross domestic product. Economically, it is building itself as a formidable force and global influence. At the same time India has fundamental challenges: its inequities are visible; its young population tread a thin line between opportunity and pitfall; its infrastructure has gaping holes; and it’s a slow chaotic democracy. This book establishes that in spite of these challenges, a new India is emerging out of the old, colliding more often than collaborating with the old India. Much of the new India is built on the economic momentum established 20 years ago and built by private entrepreneurs. The new economic climate, together with talent and entrepreneurship, is also making India a net supplier of innovation. Going by current trends, India will become an innovation super power by 2035. This book will establish that India is not just leveraging innovation for global competitiveness alone, but is also leveraging innovation as the specific instrument for inclusive growth. This book identifies gaps in the current innovation ecosystem and recommends a portfolio approach and calls for a National Innovation System (NIS) as a blueprint to fix the gaps. It suggests that for India to succeed in identifying, funding and sustaining a balanced innovation portfolio, India will also have to succeed in eliminating poverty, increase its rural GDP manifold, and provide employment, education and health for all its citizens.

Product Description
We Can Do Anything! was written when David and his young son were thinking 'What shall we do?' when rained in one evening.Using a few ideas and a lot of imagination David and his son conjured up tremendous new adventures. In minutes they had travelled into space, gone to the icy coldlands and become a scary monster. David thought this book would provide a useful resource for providing adults with a means to inspire imagination, fun, learning and play for small children. For added value David provides simple, yet colourful, illustrations using two happy faces that little ones can look for on each page, and a light tuneful style. The book also provides a short but fun bedtime read and has been given the thumbs up by the most discerning of customers - children themselves! In writing this book David has asked many people to appraise it.An Ofsted reporter endorsed the book as 'simply delightful'.In his own and typically optimistic style David describes this book as a means of awakening the child within.By getting back into play and most of all having fun & adventure, children and adults can develop creativity, whilst encouraging communication and social skills. ... Excerpt: (2) Frances Eldred Campbell Rarick (married 2004 until his death) John Richard Rarick, Sr. (January 29, 1924 September 14, 2009), was a lawyer in St. Francisville, the seat of West Feliciana Parish, and a Democratic congressman from southern Louisiana between 1967 and 1975. A staunch conservative, he frequently quarreled with his party's increasingly liberal philosophy and leadership. In 1980, he sought the presidency as the nominee of the former American Independent Party, which had been founded in 1968 by George Wallace, of Alabama. Rarick was born in tiny Waterford in Elkhart County in northern Indiana. He graduated from Goshen High School in Goshen, Indiana. He studied at Ball State University (then Teacher's College) in Muncie, Indiana. Rarick then entered the United States Army's Specialized Training Program at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where he lived in the college barracks. He was then sent to the European Theater with the infantry during World War II. He was captured at the Battle of the Bulge and later escaped from a German prisoner of war camp. He was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. After his military service, Rarick obtained his bachelor's degree from LSU. He then attended the Tulane University Law School in New Orleans, from which he graduated with an LLB and then a Juris Doctor degree in 1949. He was admitted to the Louisiana state bar later that year and set up a law practice in St. Francisville near Baton Rouge. He was a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association for more than sixty years. On June 28, 1961, he was elected as a judge of the 20th Judicial District in East and West Feliciana parishes...More: http://booksllc.net/?id=2061032 ... Read more

Product Description
This historical novel contains the first Early American romance; so pristine in its purity and world-shaking in the monetary and political impact during its day, as to be unbelievable by later generations, but its femme and her hero finally emerge upon modern America, drawn directly from the footnotes of history by an author who spent more than forty years sifting through the soil of centuries in search of this story.Historians will salivate at their discovery of heretofore unpublished facts found in this book The author has taken many dates and records, verbatim, from Orderly Books written by the officers I aides at the times of their happening. The author, for 44 years, has lived proximate to the Braddock Road site of the yet-unfound buried gold. During that time he researched Braddock Road from its inception as but a buffalo trail to today's multi-laned macadam highways - from the General's Headquarters at the Carlyle House in Alexandria, to Fort Duquesne in Pennsylvania. The author, in his retracking Braddock's steps of 1755, before the existence of the United States, did not find the treasure, only unearthing artifacts such as Indian arrowheads and spent bullets (‘minnie balls') from the United States Civil War (1861-1865) However, his prize was this story.

Readers of romance, the bizarre or buried gold, will gasp as they see that, indeed, truth is stranger than fiction. Moreover, they will love the surprise ending that leads the breathless observer to the realization that despite life's travails and tragedies - love, and faith in love, reigns. This historical novel is substantiated by a bibliography and photos. ... Read more
