Published in honor of Dr. Ellis for his eightieth birthday and for his contributions to biblical scholarship, this book contains 21 articles written by internationally renowned New Testament scholars. In each article, the writer shares his/her keen insights on a cutting-edge issue in the study of the New Testament which has been central to Dr. Ellis' research and writings. The topics discussed in the book are diverse, ranging from New Testament history, text, and exegesis to theology and ethics. A number of articles are devoted to investigating how the Old Testament is used in the New Testament, an area to which Dr. Ellis has made the most significant contributions; a few articles are focused on exegetical or hermeneutical issues or authorship issues, and other articles deal with various theological issues including the "New Perspective" on Paul. ... A Fitting Tribute
As per the Book Description above, this work was produced in honor of Dr. E. Earle Ellis.Works like this contain articles which relate to an area of research to which the honoree him/herself made significant contribution.In the case of Dr. Ellis, that contribution has been long lasting, diverse, and deep.That is saying a lot in our day of micro-specialization.To do justice to the description of this work, then, it is necessary to give the contents of the book in detail.So below is a table of contents, of sorts, divided according to the areas of research addressed in the book.For each section, the article titles and the names of their respective authors are presented.Incidentally, a review of those authors' names offers full justification for the "internationally renowned" tag attached to them in the Book Description above.

The biographical sketch by Hawthorne will offer a surprise or two about the life of Dr. Ellis, even (and especially) for those who know him personally.The curriculum vita is 12 pages long and includes a list of 157 publications by Ellis.This demonstrates that Dr. Ellis contributed far more than is generally known.

All of the articles could/should be spotlighted, but suffice it to say that each will enlighten the reader and will aid in others' research in their respective specialties. The financial turmoil of the late 1990s resulted partly from an excessive dependency between countries and regions.This important and timely new book examines the growing interdependency between Europe and East Asia and provides suggestions to prevent financial crises in the future.

Special attention is given to the contributions of international trade and investment to deeper regional and global integration, and particular emphasis is placed on major issues such as:

* the organization of multinationals and the relationship between exports and foreign direct investment
* Asian and European firms as global actors and the role of trade in the integration of the two regions
