I live in Union City, California, USA, which is between San Jose and Oakland on the east side of San Francisco Bay. I (used to) work as an engineer at a high-tech start-up company called Terawave Communications. Mountain bike riding can be found within 2 miles of Union City in Dry Creek and Garin Park s. These are fire road trails and some are quite steep. There are miles and miles of trails, yet I seldom see anyone riding on them. You can see the entire Bay Area from the top of the ridge in Garin Park where the elevation is around 1,500 feet.
