Hundarna lottas in i första omgången och startar i par ev. kan det ibland bli ett enhundslopp på slutet av de som blir kvar. För att få starta hunden i andra omgången måste den ha ett gk lopp i första omgången på över 50p. I andra omgången springer hunden med en jämbördig hund poängmässigt. För att erhålla Cert måste vinnande hund komma över 67p samt ej vara Svensk LC Champion, det måste även starta 3 eller fler i rasen för att Cert skall få delas ut. För att dela ut Cert till både hane/tik så måste det starta minst 6 av varje kön.

While I have been a basenji slave for 8 years and a "wanna be basenji slave but had to settle for 2 dimensional basenji books instead" for 11 years, my basenji journey actually began the day animal control left a note on my door in 1989 saying something had to be done about my Doberman and her nuisance barking. To avoid similar problems in the future I decided the #1 breed trait for my next dog would be a more quiet nature. My research led me to the Basenji - the "Barkless Dog of Africa". One thing my research failed to mention was, that while the basenji is deemed barkless, they are NOT mute! My ex had a limit on the number of animals we could have, so I had to wait three very l-o-n-g years before I could even think about owning a basenji. However that wait became a Godsend, as it enabled me to buy and/or subscribe to everything I could get my hands on regarding my new found breed. She works as a Fiscal Coordinator for a Mental Health agency in order to maintain the standard of living to which her hounds have become accustomed. Her other interests include bellydancing, homebrewing, collecting cacti, studying Middle Eastern cultures, and playing with the Society for Creative Anachronism. Mark Heddleston married into salukis in 1994. He brings with him one schipperke, Champion Ebonystar Drambuie. He is a programmer, software engineer, tech support specialist, and computer operator. His other interests include kite flying, netsurfing, science fiction, anything computer related, and playing with the Society for Creative Anachronism. The kennel name is also registered with the German Kennel Club and Federation Canine International (FCI) to Ed & Johanna Granger. The kennel name means "Night Music" in German and we have been blessed with wonderful night music from our international family. Together, Johanna and I have over 60 years experience with our beloved chosen breed. Both Johanna and I ran boarding kennels and grooming businesses in the Maritimes of Canada and met through dog shows. We competed against one another in the show ring and in 1989 combined our talents and became man and wife. I was living in Germany at the time and Johanna joined me shortly after the wedding. We enjoyed showing, racing and coursing Afghan Hounds in many countries of Europe until our return to Canada in 1995. Since returning to Canada Ottawa Canada Presently, there are three dogs residing with us, two males and one female. The female is from England (Izmar kennel) and has Swedish (El Khyria's), Finnish (Choice), Australian (Fermoy), American (Phalavi) and English (Izmar) heritage. The oldest male hails from a mixed background of Finnish (Choice) and English (Karnak) parentage. The youngest male hails from Australia, Gengala kennels. We showed in Denmark Belgium Holland France Germany Switzerland Austria Italy Yugoslavia Croatia and Slovenia and were known as the "crazy Canadians." The title was earned from traveling far and wide in various weather conditions to dog shows and racing/lure coursing events. Something that is common place here but not done in Europe by the majority of the dog owners. The majority of Europeans still class dog shows, racing and other events as a hobby. We lived in Mzuzu, Malawi at the time (Peace Corps). When Chengu was imported to Canada, we looked her up again to wait for another puppy. In 1988, while we were waiting, we obtained Floyd, our first ridgeback shown to a championship. We then got Lani, a Chengu / Luke Blackburn puppy, who also earned a championship. T and Chief are out of Lani's second litter. Chief was neutered for pet status and T went on to earn several titles. Our dogs are housedogs, spoiled by a soft couch, runs in the woods and two children who like to share their meals. We love our dogs; we hope they love us. Extractions: In the Middle Ages, a rabbit was released in a field and the hounds were then released after it. Eventually rules were established, which in turn led to the modern day dog track. In the SCA we use an artificial lure (generally a plastic bag) attached to a string, run through a series of pulleys, and driven by a hand crank or electric motor.

Extractions: Open field coursing in the United States is the formal, organized, coursing of live game. The game consists of wild jackrabbits native to the areas being hunted. This is the only form of organized live coursing available to the American Borzoi owner. Open field coursing is held only in the Western states where live game coursing with dogs is legal. In the early part of the twentieth century ranchers in the western plains found coursing necessary to keep the number of predators, i.e. coyotes and wolves under control. Rabbits were also hunted as the large numbers were destroying crops. The first organized open field coursing in the United States was in California in 1959. This was the Pacheco Hunt and was sponsored by the Borzoi Club of California.

Extractions: The purpose of non-competitive lure coursing tests is to offer sighthound breed owners a standardized gauge to measure their hounds' coursing instinct. The competitive lure coursing trial program aims to preserve and develop the coursing skills inherent in the sighthounds and to demonstrate that they can perform the functions for which they were originally bred. Coursing is a great way to keep your hound physically and mentally fit. Dogs must be at least one year old to run at an AKC-approved event. Dogs with breed disqualifications are not eligible. Check the standard for your breed or the Lure Coursing Regulations for more information. Many AKC affiliated clubs offer non-competitive Lure Coursing clinics for novices.
