What you need to know
I learned a lot from this manual.I appritiate learning allot about board construction and what kinds of material to look out for.Im down in Panama and although there are alot of surfers there arnt alot of body boarders.Therefore the presentation of ther manual with generaly excllent photos and discription undoughtably has helped tremendiosly.The manual is definatly geared towards the UK/Europe market.Anyway probably deserves five stars but held back because there are no other manuals to compare.So if you want to know about learning to Body board this is it. Good read
I am a retired school teacher living in the Philippines. Been here for 2 years now. I grew up surfing in S. California and now enjoy the surf here in the Philippines.I also have a Filipina girl friend. In this delightful story,the author describes the thrill and addiction of surfing and the loveliness of the Filipina. His insights about theculture and the people's daily struggle with rampant poverty are exceptionally accurate. Despite their dismal living conditions, the people here are some of the happiest and nicest in the world as exemplified in this book. If one is not a surfer, they may become somewhat bored with the detailed description of every wave the author and his friends experience. However, if one wants some insight into Filipino culture and the beauty of it's people, I highly recommend this book. For me was a can't put down page turner. ... Read more
