Excellent guide for coaches and players
I played field hockey about 9 years ago and recently my arm has been slightly twisted to coach middle school hockey.I had forgotten all the basics of the game and this book is a quick to the point guide.I like the pictures it provides and the drills.My goalie coach who had never even seen a game before has been able to use the book and apply it to coaching my goalies.I definitly recommend this book whether you are a coach who is looking for a break down of skills or a player looking to improve your game.

Informative, if skimpy
I bought this for my mother, who comes to watch all my games. I was a little disappointed because it isn't as substantive as it looks on Amazon.It does still have a clear lay out of the field and basic information.

A useful part of any coaches library
Although I have never played hockey, I coach a youth roller-hockey team and I find the descriptions and drawings of basic skills extremely useful for improving my ability to explain the core techniques of the game

Very Helpful
This book in my opinion is very helpful to first time players and people who are learning about the game. It has pratice techniques and different drills for all positions of the game which I find to be helpful. If you're a first-timer in the game or want something to give you ideas for drills this book is for you.
