Myself, i actually work in a laser tag arena and me and my colleques sat watching the clock waiting for this book to arrive once we had ordered it, and when we recieved it we were not disappointed.

the exploits of louise GRIPPED us and held our focus throughout, we knew she would pull through SHE HAD TO.

every page turned was a new wave of excitement for us.

Customizing our Vision!!!
This is a great book that describes the history, the physics, the theories, the requirements, and the current technology of customized ablation using wave front technology.At times the text can be confusing and requires rereading if not a physicist.However the book presents a very readable and detailed account of wave front analysis.I recommend this to anyone who wants to know the in's and out's of the the most current refractive surgical technique! ... Dr. Maloney didn't write it?
Why the deception?Why would a doctor of Robert Maloney's supposed stature deceive his patients and prospective patients into thinking he's the author of this book?

Anyway, the book warns about thinks like big pupils, but I've read on newsgroups that Robert Maloney even testfied that pupil size is not as important as it once was.I know enought about lasik to know that if the area lasered isn't at least as big as your pupils, you are begging for problems with night vision.
Every other doctor I've consulted with told me that they think pupil size is exceptioanlly important and would not do surgery on a patient with huge pupils because its malpractice.

Therefore, knowing all of this I don't trust the rest of this book at all.Its quite a shame, because the book looks pretty darn good from the outside.

I found this to be very informative, both on the procedure as well as the doctors. I especially appreciated chapter 5, how to choose a surgeon. There are many surgeons out there who make huge promises - how does one choose?

Great Information for anyone considering Lasik
I would describe this book as valuable and very objective.The idea of anyone cutting into your eyes is a pretty scary thought. This book helped me understand the process and my options. It made the thought of eyesurgery less intimidating.Personally, I believe it's must read materialand far superior to the tri-fold brochures you get at the typical Doctor'soffice. I really appreciated the section on what to look for in a Surgeon,much of it is common sense, but as a layman, you need to know the questionsto ask.It looks to me like everything Dr. Maloney and Dr. Davidorf havewritten is right on the mark.
