Excerpt: Hard Time on Planet Earth is a short-lived American science fiction series that aired on CBS as a midseason replacement in 1989. Airing for 13 episodes, the series starred Martin Kove and was created by Jim and John Thomas. Scheduled opposite NBC's Unsolved Mysteries and ABC's Growing Pains on Wednesdays, Hard Time on Planet Earth ranked 65th out of 81 programs upon its premiere. Ratings for the series never improved and the series was canceled by CBS in May 1989. The last episode aired on June 21, 1989. The main character was an alien Elite Military Officer (Kove) who served in a huge interplanetary war. After the war ended, he was prosecuted for rebellion against the planet's ruling Council; he was found guilty, but in recognition of his valuable services in the war, he was given the chance to reform by spending an undetermined amount of time in a vastly underpowered human form on planet Earth. Along with him was dispatched "Control" (voiced by Danny Mann), a small floating robot in the form of a mechanical eye with the mission of overseeing Jesse (the earthly name adopted by the alien warrior, from the name tag on the first Earth clothes he wore) to make sure Jesse kept his violent behavior in check. "Control" also provided ...http://booksllc.net/?id=8416743 ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A cherished part of my childhood
I first read this book in grade school after checking it out of the library, and was stunned by the story possibilities not followed by my favorite movie. I was thrilled to find it on Amazon, and after it arrived, I gave it a quick read-through; fortunately, the years and increased age didn't much dull the fun I had with it as a kid. It's obviously not for the old-school fan, except, perhaps, to put on your shelf as a display item. However, I can't think of anything more fun for a budding Star Wars fan. Get it for your kids, and they'll love it like no action figure you could find.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Star Wars :Choos Your Own Adventureby Christopher Golden
If you've always wanted to actually be in the story of Star Wars, then your chance is right here inside these choose your own Star Wars Adventure books! You can join right along side Luke Sky walker, Han-Solo and Leia Organa (Skywalker) in the journey to destroy the Sith, or betray your friends and maybe become one of the most powerful souls to roam the galaxy. So go ahead and decide your fate in these amazing adventures. Recommended for all Star Wars fans that have seen every second of all Star Wars movies.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Choose Your Own Adventure book with a new twist!
I have read plenty of Choose Your Own Adventure books, and have found most of the older ones good, but the newer ones just get cheesier and cheesier.I have also read a lot of Star Wars books and most of them have been great.Finding a perfect combination between the two was awesome! In this story, you are the best friend of Luke Skywalker, and the choices you make ultimately decide the fate of the galexy. This book was very exiting with reasonably good writing and characterization. The one problem I had was that I would rather have been Luke or Leia or someone other than this made up character who has no real place in the Star Wars universe. (Luke's best friend? Wasn't thatBiggs Darklighter who left Tatoinne months earlier to join the rebbelion and who got fried in the first Death Star battle savingLuke?)But, despite this I enjoyed it and intend to get the other two as soon as I can.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Book
This book is a great book because it's like your inside of the movie, A New Hope. You are Luke Skywalkers best friend in this story and you go though the adventures that are in the movie with him if you make the rightchoices. You could be a hero of the Rebellion or a slave of thedark side.It all depends on the choices you make. I recommend thisbook if you are really into Star Wars and you will like to become a part ofthe movie. Also some of the stuff in this book never happens in themovie so you might be in for a surprise.Similar books to this are Chooseyour Adventure Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.I really likedthis book and I hope you do too. ...
