Product Description
Paintball for beginners. Paintball Basics: Paintball is a safe, simple yet challenging and strategic sport that is played usually by two teams, each with at least two players. Adults and kids alike enjoy this sport as they often refer to it as an advanced or improvised game of tag.
Tournaments attract many spectators of all ages, as it is a very exciting game to watch.
Paintball games are of various types, however, the most popular game often played is called "capture the flag". The object or the goal of this game is for teams to advance to the opponent’s base, move the other team’s flag to its destined location, at the same time guarding your own flag.
The paintball field has many obstacles such as tires, forts, old cars, hay and the newest are “inflatables” that are constructed as refuge for team players; making the game all the more exciting, as if participating in an actual game of war in videos.
When one is hit, it can hurt briefly and at times give players bruises. Players are typically required to be in long sleeves shirt and pants, making sure that the colour is not be identical as that of the judge and complete paintball gear such as mask, helmet and goggles for safety.
The sport of paintball has a distinct and accurate set of rules that are strictly followed. The producer of the tournament is the absolute authority in regard to either an alteration or addition to the rules; marshals oversee the event, and their decision is always final. No dispute on the paintball field is accommodated or entertained.
The excitement of this game concludes when you are seen and eliminated - a situation that all team players struggle to avoid.

4-0 out of 5 stars paintball for biginners review
this book is roughly 90 pages long and took me two hours to read. i found this book to be very imformative. it will help you get started on paintball. this book has tips tricks and gameplays which works , i practiced some of the tips and tricks and ran some game plays and it works ! the only major problem with this book is that it repeats its self alot. some of the chapters of the book are strikingly similar such as " the art of retreat" and " tacticle retreat" both chapters are pretty much tells you the same thing just with different words. it also repeats paragraphs. it always mention safety and how paintball is popular. like 20 of the pages were repeats so theres actully 70 pages. other than that it is a great book if your curios about playing paintball or want to start. i played airsoft for 4 years so im trying something different. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Military Paintballer
As said before this book isn't what I would call "advanced". However, if you are new to paintball it is a great way for you to build a foudation for advanced play later on. I have been playing for over 6 yrs and upon my entry to the military have further advanced my skills that I use in paintball. This book does give great tips on how to set up your teams and how to pick your role on your team. Again not what I would call advanced but a great read for the newcomers to the sport. I myself didnt take very much from it, but to really be an advanced player you have to master the fundamentals of the sport and without that no amount of reading will make you an advanced player. But this is an all around good book no complaints about it, though another book that I thought did a better job was "Paintball Warrior Tactics"

4-0 out of 5 stars good tactics
Good tactics in regards of team formation. Not so good in field tactics. Easy to read.

3-0 out of 5 stars "Advanced" is a bit of a misnomer, but otherwise solid
As someone else already said, I wouldn't call this book "advanced." This book is good for the intermediate player, the guy who's played for a little bit but is looking to step up his game, maybe join a team and go play a scenario event.

The book gives a short description of several team roles (Point man, sniper, scout, etc.), different terrains and conditions for paintball scenarios (Urban, night, winter, etc.) and tips and tactics for how to deal with them, a short section on tanks, a fun little chapter calls "Tips and Tricks" that has several entertaining ideas I'm trying over the next few games, and finally a list of some new game ideas, each of them with optional variations. There is also a list of helpful websites at the end.

The book seemed very short to me - it clocks in at 130 pages, but there's about 15 pages before you actually get to the body of the book and another 10 at the end that's simply listing websites and other books. Add that into the rather large type and the fairly regular use of large pictures, and you have maybe 60 pages of actual info.

That's not to say the book's bad at all - I got some good info out of it. But as far as depth and info I didn't already know, I found it somewhat lacking. If you're a beginner, I'd go for "The Complete Guide to Paintball, 4th Edition." www.specialopspaintball.com has more useful and more in-depth woodsball info posted for free on its site. This book is good filler, but by no means comprehensive - use it to round out your paintball book collection.

5-0 out of 5 stars The sequel is better than the original
I immediately found several great ideas to make our team better. Individuals and team members can benefit from this book. Overall excellent, even though I found the types of scenario games interesting, as a team leader, I usually don't have the clout to select the content of a scenario game. Hopefully every field owner, and scenario event planner reads these as they contain a fountain of great ideas. This is the author's followup book and has more nuts and bolts scenario techniques that add to the knowledge base. You as an individual sniper, and your team as a group will benefit much from reading this book. It is required reading for my team.

3-0 out of 5 stars so so
Gives you some ideas about complex scenarios, but does not provide a lot of specific information. Not recommended. ... Read more

Product Description
Have you ever pondered the sport of paintball? How is this wild and wooly “game” played? What equipment or gear do I need? Is it only for pre-teen or teenage boys? Here is some insider’s info to get you inching down that pathway to this quite unexpectedly cool sport that is ready and waiting for anyone, anywhere to play... whether you are a youngster or maybe an oldster, or if you are skinny or fat, an athlete or a geek. Amazing, right?

The sensational thing about paintball is that anyone can play… I would even say just about everyone! You might be male or female and you probably still can play this high-action game. Truth be told, even your grandmother and grandfather can join in the fun of this terrific sport. It will be an exciting time for
families to get together and have some fun!

Paintball has evolved and through the years and can be played in different ways. In one version of the game teams can one flag each and the other team must capture that flag in order to win. Another game has the same objective as the first will except there is only one flag that is situated in the center of the field and each team tries to be the first to capture the flag. The other way of winning (other than capturing the flag) would be to eliminate all of the players of the opposing team
with paintball hits.

The game can be played on a small scale which is called recreational paintball. This is the original way it was played in a wooded area and can be played in an area the size of a basketball court. If there are many people who want to play and the field is a large area the game is called a scenario. The largest scenario ever was in 2005 on a 700 acre parcel of land and with 3,000 participants.

Paintball is one game that is gaining ground in the sports world. According to a study done in 2005, it is ranked as the third most popular extreme game in the world. It is considered a safe sport as long as proper equipment is used and people comply with the rules. People who are interested can sign up at the local club and join in the fun.

This e-book will show you everything you need to know about paintball and how to be the best paintball player out there!

Excerpt: A paintball marker, also known as a paintball gun, is the main piece of equipment in the sport of paintball. Markers use an expanding gas, such as carbon dioxide or compressed air, to propel paintballs through the barrel. Some paintball players prefer the politically correct term "marker" rather than "gun", to mitigate public perception that paintball markers are problematic weapons, and that paintball is a dangerous sport. The term derives from its original use as a means for forestry personnel and ranchers to mark trees and wandering cattle. The muzzle velocity of paintball markers is approximately 300 feet per second, or 90 meters per second, 200 miles per hour or 320 kilometers per hour. While muzzle velocity above 300 feet per second is possible due to fluctuating gas pressure or the adjustment of internal spring tension, it has been ruled unsafe in most commercial paintball fields. When paintballs hit an object at high speed they have a potential for causing damage; a paintball colliding with human skin may cause bruising or further tissue damage; however the damage depends entirely on the paintball's velocity, its angle of attack, and which part of the body it hits. Because of the potential for soft tissue damage, players must wear masks to protect the eyes, mouth, and ears when barrel blocking devices are not in place. Most paintball markers have four main components: the body, hopper (usually not included with a gun unless bought in a package), gas system (or air tank; this is not included unless in a package), and barrel (almost always included). This pistol can shoot at up to 150 metres per second. BB guns are a type of air gun designed to shoot projectiles named BBs after the birdshot pellet of approximately the same size. These projectiles are usually spherical but can also be pointed; those are usually used for bird hunting. Modern day BB guns usually have a smoothbore barrel , with a bore diameter and caliber of 0.177 inches (4.5 mm). BB for modern day BB guns are usually steel , plated either with zinc or copper to resist corrosion, and measure 0.171 to 0.173 inches (4.34 mm to 4.39 mm) in diameter. Some manufacturers also still make lead balls of slightly larger diameter and which are generally intended for use in rifled BB gun barrels, as were formerly used in BB guns. Some Asian companies make plastic BBs for recreation. One of the most famous BB guns is the Red Ryder BB Gun by Daisy Outdoor Products , modeled after the western Winchester rifle. First introduced in 1938, the BB gun became an iconic American toy, and is still in production today. Airsoft guns are also commonly referred to as BB guns or pellet guns, as they also launch spherical projectiles (typically through a smoothbore barrel). Common airsoft "BBs" are 6 mm in diameter (0.24 inches), and are generally made of plastic or other non-metallic materials specifically designed to impart low target damage (however, such can still be dangerous if carelessly or improperly used). Airsoft projectiles are often employed for wargames similarly to paintball . Safety Main article: Toy and sport gun safety Most commercial BB firing airguns guns can shoot beyond 200 ft/s (61 m/s).
