A useful part of any coaches library
Although I have never played hockey, I coach a youth roller-hockey team and I find the descriptions and drawings of basic skills extremely useful for improving my ability to explain the core techniques of the game

Very Helpful
This book in my opinion is very helpful to first time players and people who are learning about the game. It has pratice techniques and different drills for all positions of the game which I find to be helpful. If you're a first-timer in the game or want something to give you ideas for drills this book is for you.

great book and very thorough
This is a great book. It helped immediately just by reading it, let alone all the drills it includes. Did I mention the drills in the book? There are LOTS of them. Each is explained from a coaches standpoint and a players standpoint. This makes it obvious that this book is good for both the player and the coach. A definate must read if you're learning roller hockey.

Beginner to Expert
Short and sweet, this book is excellent for the beginner as well as the advanced roller hockey player.It clearly presents each and every aspect of the game in a way that everyone can appreciate.I like to touch and feel books when deciding on buying them, but take my word for it, this is an excellent book on Roller Hockey.It is like having a coach available 24 hours a day.It shows skills the beginner can use and drills for advanced players to enhance their play as well.You will not be disappointed.

Best roller hockey book for players and coaches
Winning on wheels is the most complete book for drill, strategies from every aspect of the game (Offensive ,defensive,power play ,breakouts etc.). He illustrates very well and is easy tounderstand. I coach high schoolteams (J.V. and Varsity). Our team has improved vastly with these bookstrategies. I also coached a team of 14 year olds to a 3rd place in the NHLBreakout world championships in Tampa florida in Jan. 1999 (Roller Gators).As a coach this book has made me a very good student of the game of rollerhockey. Clearly not written by hockey people.

I could give numerous examples like pg 40 "Get Your Players' Attention""Make sure they aren't looking into the sun or at some distracting activity."

Practic plans are a joke.No way someone could run a 50 min practice based on these practice plans.

Hockey review
I needed to understand how to teach children under 10 the game of Hockey and start towards gaining a coaching award in this age group. This book gives me a greater understanding of what turns on a childs interest and haw to maintain this interest.

A great comprehensive goaltending book.Stretching, taking care of your equipment, practicing, playing, and visualizing...this book has got tons of information and is very helpful. I'd love to see some follow-ups going even further indepth!

This book helped an aspiring goaltender
I'm 30, never played a minunte of hockey, and want to play goalie. This is the book I bought. I loved it, because of the general all around information it provides. From stretching, eqiupment, technique , to mental toughness. It also does not talk down to you, as you were ten years old.
My only complaint is the lack of depth in the equipment chapters. If it was an all encompassing book, I would have liked more information on kinds of different pads, masks, gloves, ect.
I recomend this book, they tried to help all areas, and I think it worked on me. And I now play goalie twice a week.

SO GOOD
I have been a goalie of hockey for 6 years and i know a lot, although i thought i did untill I got this book. This book is telling me stuff i already know, but also a lot more and i have gone through it with in an hour of having it; i aint took it all in yet, but i am gonna read through it loads and loads and try and coach the younger kids from the book.

It is a must buy, cuz when i told my coach i got the book he told me he had also got it and helped him loads.

This book was an inspirational sports book because, it will make you determined to do your best. The three reasons i liked this book are, he always pushes his parents so he can play roller hockey, He showed that even the little guy can make a huge differnce,and I liked how he practices to try to get better. This books is about a kid named Kirby who plays a lot of sports but doesn't like to stick to one,and he has a hard time meeting people on his new neighborhood. I rated it a 3 out of 5 because Matt could of elaborated more what was going to happen to Kirby next to keep the reader off there seat if he made another series about Kirby. Anyone who like a thrilling sports book will be satisfied with Roller Hockey Radicals. Kirby the roller hockey radical has fun in the book learning roller hockey but what will happen next you will find out.

I rated it 5 stars because I love hockey. Also because it was cool how they had a hockey team. I've tried that before and it's hard to start.

Roller Hockey Radicals is Awesome!
It's about Kirby and he moved to a different town. He wanted to find some friends. Eventually, found a roller hockey team called, " The E-Street Skates". It was exciting! It had a lot of info about roller hockey. This book was REALLY RADICAL!

A great book for hockey enthusiasts ages 8-10
Danny Spottl, 3rd grade, The Piedmont School, High Point, NC. Kirby Childs moved with his parents from Minford to Valemont.It was summer break and most of the kids were at summer camp. So it was hard for Kirby to find kidsto play with. Anyway, Kirby met some kids that were playing roller hockeyon E Street.Soon, they invited him to play.The team played everySaturday against the Bates Avenue Bad Boys, which was the only other teamin Valemont.
