good for non-family travelers
the good thing about this guide is that it focuses more on travel and resorts for those of us who dont need "the carnival cruise line" of snowboarding trips, i.e. its it includes tons of info for those of us without kids to consider. you can do this travel by yourself, with friends, on a budget or in high style, this rough guide gives you the choice, and there is a lot to choose from.

Boarding Bible!
I mean, what can I say? Snowboarding is a Religion, and this book really is the Bible. I don't think there is a stone left unturned with this one. Anyone interested in Snowboarding who lives in the USA and doesn't own this book may as well give in now, and order it. A Good Learning Book.
Reading is not my favorite thing in the world,but when I see a good book I actually read it. This book is called, "Ultimate Snowboarding". The book tells about good skills and techniques you need to now about snowboarding. It has good trick tips also in the book. I rate this book 5 stars.

A must have for Extreme Bookshelves
Billy Miller has compiled a collection of stories written by some of the best writers in the world of snowboarding. He's taken them and organized them in such a way that any newbie (beginner) or seasoned snowboarding pro will walk away having learned something about the sport they love or hope to learn to love. Learn the history of the sport, and then continue onward into the personal lives of some of the sports icons. Learn basic and advanced tricks all to the tune of rocking full color photography, albeit some of it slightly outdated. Consider it a history lesson in extreme with an inside look at a snowy white snowboarding world that is now as common as MTV, but was once a renegade outlaw sport. Take it to the limit. Review, but very interesting
Anyone that is a beginer, or just wants to know how to snowboard, should read this book. It informs you on how to snowboard on a basic level. Some of the things it teaches you is carving, falling the correct way, ollieing, and tricks. This book also gives information in different types of snowboarding, such as slalom racing, boardercross, hafl pipe, and dryslope competition.

For me, being a snowboarder for three years, going on four, I only give the book three stars, because I already know most of the information the author is trying to give you. For me, this was like a review type book, but i still thought that it was interesting. ... Read more

It's all about the How-To
I'm usually pretty skeptical of How-To books, but this one was recommended to me. It's quite cool. I was able to understand it, and it actually helped me get started snowboarding. I can seriously recommend this book for regular people.

Awesome book. Used it to help decide what equipment to get and to teach my girlfriend the basics. The writing style is easy to read and the contents are great for an introduction. The descriptions and pictures of slipping, edging and traversals made were really illuminating, and instructions on riding powder made me want to go lay some tracks.

Informative, clear and descriptive--a must for snowboarders
Goldman knows the sport of snowboarding and does a fantastic job of providing all the essential information anyone else would need to know to enjoy snowboarding. From equipment to accessories to getting started basics and advanced skills, I enjoyed reading the book and felt I learned something new on every page. The photos and drawings were also super helpful to me. Goldman is a fine writer who undoubtedly loves to snowboard and I walked away from having read the book feeling Goldman's enthusiasm for the sport and wishing it were already winter. ... Read more

Another terrifying descent into the natural world - this time Montgomery chooses what was previously considered benign snowboarding/winter sports as his medium. Who we are when we begin this timepiece and where we allow ourselves to boldly dare by the end - begins to explain the crux of the CYOA post-modern dilemma. Am I snowboarder? Am I going to go to the safe hut with Dan? Will Matt lead me down a deathly "Double Black Diamond"? Or are, in fact, life's decisions miniscule in comparison to the mountain on which I ride? I think this is the best TOAK book i ever read, It's very nice and i like the way Mary-kate tries 2 make money... Gotta Love It
This book is wonderful for anyone who wants to try snowboarding but is too afraid or unsure of their ability. It's not a guide to snowboarding-- learning how to snowboard can only be achieved through actually doing it-- however, it does help a woman to overcome fear and try the latest trend. Chickie was my instructor and is one of the best female snowboarders out there. Try this book, I'm sure you will love it and its delicious recipes!

All You Need to Know to Start Snowboarding
Chickie Rosenberg's unbridled enthusiasm for snowboarding is apparent on every page of her book. She can convince even the most reluctant winter sports un-enthusiast to try the great sport of snowboarding, by overcoming the objections of "it's too cold" and "I don't know how."

They won't even be able to use the "I'm too old" or "I'm afraid of heights" excuse once they realize that Chickie STARTED snowboarding over a decade ago at age 50 and that she is also afraid of heights.
